LOCATION Cafe can be found in a little plaza which is awesome because PARKING Options were great as it is shared with other shops and such in a large lot. Quick stop on our way to Filoli since we wanted a place with no lines for Saturday brunch. We ordered the pancakes with a side of eggs, and the beet and goat cheese salad with dressing on the side. The food was mediocre - pancakes were dry and salad came with the dressing mixed in despite our request. The goat cheese also came out as a block on top of the salad. I digged around in the leaves and found maybe a total of 4-5 pecans with the rest being tiny crushed pieces. Service was also spotty. Been here a few times for brunch. What a cute, and cozy neighborhood eatery! The food is good and the service is fantastic. We usually get the gyro with a side of potatoes, French toast or corn beef hash. The kids get a side of pancake and kid's mac and cheese. I love French toast as it is thick and cooked perfectly, they even add a glob of Nutella to go with it. The corn beef tastes home made and not the weird color stuff from a can. The servers are so attentive and friendly. Really outstanding service throughout. They come around often to refill water and coffee. Busy at lunch time = very very slow service- if any at all. At least for me and my 6-year-old daughter. We came in after I had just picked her up from school and hoped for a good lunch. We've eaten there before and enjoyed their sandwiches. But...the last time, we were shown a seat and then...nothing. No one ordering our drinks. No one giving us menus. We'd been there before - surely they saw we were just sitting there. I even waved and I got a nod in return. After my daughter complained of being "so hungry" we waited about 25 minutes without any service. She really wanted their "Minnie mouse pancakes". This is a favorite spot for my family, so whenever I come out to visit, we usually end up here for lunch a few times. Feng, the owner, is such a nice person and always quick to come over and greet us. There's lots of good stuff on the menu and in contrast to a lot of places in the bay area, the prices are actually down to earth. You won't find any $18 hamburgers here (although their reasonably priced burgers are still great). Really solid, soups, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast offerings with nice, big portion sizes and fresh ingredients. I tried the Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich on my most recent visit and it is awesome - slightly spicy, totally delicious. A nice big pile of pulled pork nestled on a bed of coleslaw....good stuff! I like their fries too, nice and crispy shoestrings - not too salty, not too plain. Their lentil soup is another winner, as is the grilled chicken breast pesto sandwich, Thai cashew chicken salad, Cherrywood bacon & cheddar burger.....basically it's all good. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the cool fresh air. I ordered one piece of "fresh" blueberry coffee cake and my son ordered a short stack (2) of pancakes. Simple enough right? The waitress brings us our water and milk within 5 minutes along with my stale coffee cake. 30 minutes later my sons pancakes come out semi warm. We saw a bigger crown come in after we had already placed our order and they got most of their food before my son got his pancakes. Seems like they favor the people sitting inside. I had to wave the waitress down for a box and my check. We came to this place because of the good reviews. A shame we had a very bad experience. Will not recommend this place unless you have a party of 4+ and sit inside and plan on staying for a few hours for small dishes. I hate to say, but I would probably go to ihop before I come here again. If you want a REAL good cafe, redwood city is very close. I'd have to agree with another yelper. the service here is weird. the waiter was not friendly at all but not exactly rude. there wasn't the standard how can i help you, are you ready to order. she just kinda walked up to us and stood there. it is definitely not good service but its not exactly bad either. she was relatively attentive. she just took my cup away brought it back a few minutes without saying a word. as for the food: corn beef hash- it said that it was home made so i had to try it! the corn beef arrived as little cubes with onion. it kinda reminded me of a cross between spam and square space sausage. it wasn't too salty. it came with eggs and potatoes that were not good. i only ate 1.5 bites of it. i usually mix together my corned beef hash, egg, and the potatoes and smother it in ketchup. however since it arrived in little cubes it didn't seem appropriate. i didn't enjoy the chunks of fat on the meat but they were easily cut off garlic french fries- if you like thin oily fries smothered in garlic this is your place. these fries were really short and thin. imagine McDonald's fries cut in half lengthwise and width wise. comes with a garlic dip that goes with it perfectly. the only thing that would make these better would to make them less oily. these fries were super oily you could SEE IT. it mind as well have been dripping in oil. fries usually have a 'dry' appearance but these were definitely wet with oil read more

Cafe Bliss is a hidden gem in the busy Carlmont Shopping Center. This snug cafe is tucked away on the opposite side of the school kid infested side of the shopping center, making it even more of an appreciative eatery. The chaos of students can be avoided by going to Cafe Bliss, and to top it off, the food is so delicious. It's a shame that this wonderful cafe is only open until 2:30. I went to Cafe Bliss around 12PM on a Friday with three other people. There was no wait time at all, and we were seated immediately. There are so many appetizing choices on the menu that it was hard to pick, but eventually I settled on the Bliss Burger. The Bliss Burger was only $9.50 ($10.36 with tax) and worth every single penny. This burger was MASSIVE. The patty was moist and the buns were tasty and fluffy as well. It was a challenge to complete, but I felt the need to due to how delicious the first bite was. The fries were delicious as well, not too salty, but not bland in any aspect. The service was fine. It wasn't phenomenal, but it wasn't slow. The waitress checked in once, like usual, and got our food out in ten minutes or less. My only regret -- and this is totally on me -- is that I didn't get a drink! They serve drinks in trendy mason jars with a handles, and they have many variations. It's still shocking to see that this cafe only has 3 and a half stars overall. I'm just glad I went to this cafe on a good day for the workers there. (FYI, the guy who used to own it is related to the guy who owns Coyote Grill in the same shopping center so if you liked their old food, then hit or Coyote for a pretty good burrito) Anyhow. I think the food quality has slipped quite a bit here. The last few times I've eaten here I left fairly disappointed. I'm on to trying new places now and don't really have a desire to go back here. Visiting Nick's family over the holidays and they love this spot for a quick lunch. I've been twice so far, and both times were great. Prices are low compared with some of the surrounding Bay Area restaurants, and portions are good. The location is pretty down-to-earth with zero pretentiousness - located in a small strip mall in Redwood City. Not too much going on in the way of atmosphere, but the staff are always over the top friendly and accommodating. They have the orders of Nick's parents memorized, and always greet them with the warmest smiles. Service was fast, and the servers refilled drinks consistently and were happy to make accommodations for Nick's parents (no mayo, extra avocado, that sort of thing). I've tried their burgers, gyro, and their Thai chicken salad. All were tasty and filling. The burgers were juicy and well-portioned. The gyro meat itself was nicely seasoned, but the overall gyro was otherwise pretty standard-fare. The Thai salad is spicy (which they warned us about), but I love me a good spicy Thai dressing. Side salads typically come with a raspberry vinaigrette - also a solid choice, dressing-wise. Overall good for a quick and easy lunch break - I'd certainly go back a third time. =-) read more

It was loaded with pickles, plenty of tomatoes and nice fresh lettuce. No skimping like happens so often when you get a burger. The menu has a nice range of options and the quality of the food is consistent. The cafe is not very large - sometimes it's quiet and others raging with families.
