    Great Lentil Soup!
    Sir C.

I am an Outsider! New to the area and establishment! I was well welcomed and received. No discrimination! If only other establishments , not just in this area will be receiving and welcoming regardless of your race and social class! The world would be a better place. I like how well the interior is decorated. It's well kept. I enjoyed the Lentil Soup! Like Arnold said " I'll be Back"

Tucked in the Carlmont Village Plaza, this spot came in handy on a cold morning for breakfast. Maybe it's because of the holiday, but we were one of only two tables. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered a latte which came large, creamy and hot! The standard breakfast plate was very plentiful. The potatoes were like a combo of house and hash - crispy on the top! They had a nice play on French toast served with Nutella. Lots of options on the menu for both breakfast and dinner lunch.

Nothing bad but nothing great either. Decent basic breakfast food. They made my daughter's pancakes Mickey Mouse shaped :)

i never would have known about this place had it not been for yelp! this cute little cafe is located at the carlmont village shopping center, but it's around the corner facing ralston, so i never would have seen it since i always enter via alameda de las pulgas. note that they only open for breakfast & lunch, 8-1430 daily. the waitstaff appeared to be mother & son and they were super sweet and prompt in taking our orders, presenting our food, and bringing us the bill. i ordered the mediterranean savory crepe, which had eggs, artichoke, eggplant, sundried tomatoes, olives, basil and feta cheese. i requested egg whites and light on the cheese for a healthier option. i also opted for salad on the side in lieu of potatoes. my plate was beautifully presented and it also tasted great! healthy, but very filling! the thin crepe was filled with lots of fresh veggies, and just a bit of cheese, as i requested. i probably could have eaten two of these, they were so delicious! the salad was just the right size for a side salad and it was so pretty, with the specs of tomatoes and red dressing (guessing something vinaigrette since it was tangy). the mother even took a photo for us, upon request, since our friends were dressed up for halloween :) my breakfast experience was well worth the $17.95 (before tax & tip) and i'll definitely be back to try some of their other breakfast options and maybe even lunch. i noticed the beautiful coffee cake sitting on the counter by the register and unfortunately, i was too full to order a slice after my meal...something to look forward to next time!

Over the past year we have been here 20 times. It's The Best in Belmont. They brighten any day with great quality food, vast selection on menu, fabulous coffee drinks, and a fresh fruit salad we love! Staff is stellar and the owner Fing is a high quality individual full of joy, hardworking, and smart. Parking is perfect, and the outdoor tables are perfect for the times as well as pets.

Nothing great (especially given the quality you get at other places nearby). The fries were pretty terrible - kind of underdone. We also had the Dorado dish that has chicken and eggs etc. sounded pretty good but overall it was ok. The hash browns were crisp but bland. Just add some salt! The eggs were fine - I asked for over easy. And the chicken was also fine - not too flavorful. The pickled jalapenos were yummy! The drip coffee was fine but they have those individual little half and half things. I think for a restaurant this size, they could have some real half and half. The mocha was awful and it was $6! Service was fine. Not terrible but also not anything great. A little loud inside but outside was nice. We won't be back because even though the portions are generous, the food was literally meh.

The eggs on the Benedict were poached perfectly, which I very much appreciate. Not only were they poached perfectly, but the eggs themselves were beautiful. Very fresh with that vibrant bright marigold color. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and delectable. The breakfast burger was amazing! It comes served on Filone bread which I thought went perfect with the burger. This bread is similar to ciabatta. Crusty on the outside, with a good chew on the inside. Firm enough to handle all the contents of the burger, but soft and chewy on the inside. The meat itself, chuck and brisket, was sensational. I'm not the type of person to ever order a burger without cheese but this burger could've definitely stood alone. Melted Monterey Jack, thick slices of bacon, fresh slices of avocado, and a perfectly cooked runny egg were just added bonuses. There was something on this burger that had a slight sweetness. I don't know if it was the samurai sauce that they put on it or the bacon, but it was delicious. I love that. It came served with a light salad tossed in vinaigrette as well. Coffee was served beautifully with a nice frothy head. Service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing. Our server, Da, was so sweet and made our experience even that much more wonderful. Can't wait to come back. My one gripe was the size of the potatoes that came served with the eggs Benedict and the burger. This is not a cheap place to eat. For two of us to have breakfast with one coffee and an iced tea is $60 before tip. Don't be so chinsy on the tater tots and French fries. 10 tater tots? Come on now. It's not caviar. It's potatoes. I don't need a mountain of them just a decent portion. I almost knocked off a star for that, but everything else, specifically the service, warrants the five stars. Thank you for a wonderful meal and for the great hospitality.

We were seated at our reservation time and the staff was attentive. My issue is that the food options are now very basic. Eggs with tater tots, grilled chicken sandwich with fries, etc. I enjoyed my sandwich but I could get it at any pub. The decor also didn't give off "farm house" ambience, and the indoor dining room was fairly chilly. Not a bad place to eat, but nothing worth going out of my way for (at least for brunch).

Our favorites are the chicken croffin and the crème brûlée French toast. The croffin is buttery and flaky with perfectly crispy chicken, and the French toast is rich and just sweet enough. Splitting one savory and one sweet is the perfect combo. The staff are always super friendly, and this place checks all the boxes for a great brunch spot. Heck, Foster City barely had a full service brunch option as it was (not including hotel food)! When it appeared the menu was going to be Asian-inspired, I was intrigued. So, there's another Asian brunch place within city limits that has pretty identical dishes and menu style. Personally, I'm unsure of the affiliation, but I prefer the original location's prices and food preparation. While Toast In Town is questionably a reskin, and questionably repurposing Costco and Restaurant Depot items (croissants, bibigo cooked rice, spring mix), they do a decent job of a satisfying brunch. During prime brunch hours there is typically a wait, but otherwise it's quiet and quaint. There's also some tables for outdoor seating, though being inside with all the cute pillows and plushies feels nice. - Corn Cheese Rolls Interesting appetizer, as it's like a mozzarella stick filled with corn pieces, wrapped in egg roll wrapper. Would like a little more cheese than corn, and a sauce other than flavored mayonnaise, but worth a try. - Mozzarella Sticks The breading is more smooth, thick, and durable. It's like a hard mozzarella stick with a lot of stretchy cheese. I'd rather have it with a different sauce than their sweet chili. - Timeless Benedict Their benedicts are solid and straightforward! They toast the muffin well, have a good ingredient ratio, slice the tomato and ham perfectly, poach and place the egg appropriately, and have a good hollandaise flavor (this one in particular was basil). I didn't have high expectations for the potatoes, but they were actually hot and slightly crispy. The salad with sweet and sour-like dressing rounds out the dish. - Creme Brulee French Toast The custard is smooth and sweet, the toast is hot and crispy, and I love the torched sugar. It's pretty heavy and filling just by nature of being french toast. I'd wish the bottom toast was torched for the sugar crust as well. The brown sugar, scattered fruits, and walnuts are a bit random (the sugar actually makes it too sweet). - Chicken Croffles It was a standard and solid plate with two fried chicken pieces, and two toasted croffle pieces. The biscoff crumble was just there for dirt visuals. I don't think the sweet chili sauce really went well with the meal unless you really like that sweet and sour flavor with sriracha. We prefer this dish at the other Asian brunch place due to better ingredients and price. - Tokyo Ribeye The ribeye was cooked well, sliced perfectly, and had a nice sweet soy glaze. The seaweed on top was seasoned well, too, but kind of random on a steak. The egg and rice go well with the saucy steak, and the salad adds a bright and healthy balance to the dish. The dressing is thick, tangy, sweet, and sour. - Shibuya Chicken This is pretty much the Tokyo Ribeye, except with breaded chicken cutlet instead of steak. Love how the rice is still in the shape of the microwave bibigo cooked rice. - Ube Latte (Iced) Pretty drink, though it seems to be from powder. At least the powder is high quality and flavorful. It's creamy, nutty in a toasted coconut-like way, and pleasantly sweet. - Cha-Chak (Southern Thai Milk Tea) I'm not too sure what I was expecting, but it tastes like a creamy black milk tea, and not like Thai tea. My biggest deterrent is the price, though I'm not too surprised considering Foster City. While it's a copy of another restaurant and not made from scratch, I think Toast In Town at least provides a good presentation with technically sound execution.
