I did not say that the prices were not as expected. It was a bit ridiculous to not include any sort of side dish, but that was also disclosed. My main complaint was that the piece of fish was incredibly small. Very cheap. I guess had I asked for the fish to be fried, which is the usual the increased fat content might have made me less hungry after eating the sandwich. Shame on the owner. Give a nice piece of fish for $20. Avoid this place.

I had the Rock Fish tacos and they were just amazing! The crunchiness from the panko bread was great and the freshness unmatched! After I had to try their Halibut fish and chips. Flaky, fresh, crunchy, flavorful. Let's just say that if I lived in Homer, I would be eating there every day! It is a small restaurant and they also have outside seating. Hands-down the best food we've had in Alaska; and maybe the best street tacos ever!…read more We have been living in Alaska for a couple of years now, and Swell Taco in Homer is officially our favorite spot. The location is beautiful, featuring a very cute outdoor setup right on the ocean with amazing views. Even though they were busy with a long line, the service was outstanding, kind, warm, and engaging. They were incredibly thorough, and our order came out exactly right. I also noticed that everything coming out to other tables looked consistently spot-on, with everyone around us loving their food. As someone who eats gluten-free, the fact that 80% of their menu is GF was phenomenal, and it actually tastes incredible! Their corn tortillas are genuinely the best I have had anywhere. Their flavor combinations are extremely well thought out and expertly executed. We tried the fried rockfish, the halibut cheek, and the Carne Asada. The fish-based tacos were lovely, as the texture was perfect. The flavor profile on the Carne Asada was actually my favorite of the three, but the meat itself was just a little too tough for my full appreciation. Still, the seasonings on all three tacos were absolute perfection. Do not skip the coconut limeade! It was such a treat: perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and very well done. Swell Taco is a must-visit in Homer. We will be dreaming about these tacos until our next trip!

( little while later ) I had the halibut fish and chips with a side salad instead of chips ( 2.00 up charge for salad) the halibut was delicious but the nicest surprise was the salad it had sprouts , pickled onions , cucumbers and tomatoes with delicious greens . The halibut is caught fresh each day and the salad tasted like it had just been harvested from a local garden .

The Bulgagi was unique and put a Korean spin on a taco but was a little heavy on the sauce. The fish taco was out of this world good. The best fish taco I've ever eaten. We got some noodles just to try another dish but they weren't that impressive-- why get noodles when you can have le burg or fish taco?? We were just visiting but my family lives in Homer and visits Le burg regularly. They said hours can be difficult and they're not always open. There are also only two picnic tables between Le truck and a BBQ truck that they seem to share so not a lot of seating but it's a food truck-- what do you expect. If you're in homer and looking for a lunch spot make sure to check out Le truck. Update: two years later we spent three days trying to go back but they were never open! Finally they opened for lunch at 1:40 right before the farmer's market opened on Wednesday. It seems like they are only open when farmer's market is open. That's very frustrating. Food was still good but losing points/stars for bad hours and never being open!!
