One of my favorite Italian restaurants. Everything made from scratch, lots of great waitstaff. Highly recommend!

The quality of their food especially tomato sauce and meat has gone downhill from what it used to be. Some of our meal was very good and some was especially bad. Obviously they didn't try what they served us first. They were very nice about our complaint and didn't charge us for half of our meal. Still, We won't be going back again as there are other great Italian restaurants around that we can trust to get top quality food. read more

Caprese Salad and Butternut Squash Ravioli were good. Fresh bread was tasty. Steaks were good.

Unfortunately we won't be back. Ordered a Caesar salad that looked like it was days old, the lettuce was so wilted and the croutons were soggy, although the dressing was good. Ravioli entree was fair, not much flavor, the bolognese was fair, too watery and also not much flavor. For the price, could have had a much better meal at an Italian chain restaurant. Service was okay, the tables are very close together and very loud atmosphere. Could use some updating. read more

first visit was lovely & we will be back! had lunch here today & cant think of any complaints. went on a rainy tuesday afternoon at about 1230 & it was busy. which is a good thing in my opinion! we were a little surprised. took a few minutes to get a table which wasnt an issue. the hostess was nice & on top of it. our waiter alejandro was great. food was awesome too. we started with an appetizer. i liked it, but wasnt in love. my step mom loved it though. then we both got the angel hair bolognese. she added eggplant & i added chicken. delish & had lots leftover that we took home. we got a few things on our way out as they have this fridge with fresh/ready to go food items. read more

Cafe Assisi is always packed, but we've visited a handful of times and don't think it's anything special. We have tried several different meals, which are decent but not worth their high price. The atmosphere is nice however, so if you're looking for a decent meal it's worth a try. read more

Just a great spot. Catering is wonderful. Customer service is fantastic and it is a go to spot for our family.

A group of us picked up takeout here for lunch while driving by. I ordered the meatball sandwich which was decently large and plenty filling for lunch. The meatballs themselves were very tasty. The bread tasted fresh and the cheese and sauce on the sandwich were exceptional. However, the reason this is a 3 star for me is that there were some large gaps on the sandwich between meatballs where I was able to take 2-3 sizable bites with no meatballs. I would rather have a smaller sandwich and enjoy it than taking bites of bread cheese and sauce. Overall I would come back here. The food tastes great and I probably just got a little unlucky with the sandwich. read more

Stay away from the steak. Everything else is good but sirloin is grisly and not worth 36.00. Been there twice and enjoyed pasta dish the first time but I didn't want to complain since I was being treated to dinner for my birthday. My fault I guess but I left over half of it on the plate because I got tired of spitting out the tough pieces. Bread and oil is fabulous. Wait staff as per usual these days is over burdened so I can't put the inattentiveness on them. Overall its worth a chance, maybe it was just bad luck. read more

We came here for the first time tonight after hearing very good things about the food. We ordered and shared a delicious Caesar salad then Seafood Fra Diavolo. The service was excellent, not too much or too little attention. The food came out nice and hot from the kitchen! Just the right amount of spice in the Fra Diavolo and the calamari was cooked just right. The wine list is very good and we both decided on the Meiomi Pinot Noir. Highly recommended. Unbelievable. My fiance and I have been trying to get into this place for a while now, and we finally found a rainy random weeknight about an hour before they closed to sneak in and test it out. We walked into a small restaurant and were greeted with nothing but friendliness. We sat at the bar, ordered some red wine, and immediately were given fresh warm bread and dipping oils. I already forget what my fiance ordered, because my butternut squash ravioli, with root vegetables in a butter sage sauce was pure perfection. At first I thought my portion was too small, but the flavors are so rich, I was full by my last bite! So delicious! We opted for the new Creme Brulee Cheesecake... now I know I said I was full, but who doesn't have room for dessert... This was melt in your mouth, can't get enough, greatness. I was in for dinner last night with my friend as I have heard so many good things about this restaurant. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and my friend ordered the chicken, broccoli and ziti. The meals came out in less than 10 minutes which I was surprised because eggplant has to be fried and the cheese on top has to be melted. And my friends chicken had to be cooked and then added to her dish as well. They brought out my meal incorrectly and gave me chicken parmigiana. This is an open kitchen so you can hear and see all that goes on. While our food was being prepared I noticed a microwave and heard it going off and on as we were right in front of it. Well I now know that they microwave the cheese to melt on top of the dishes which is pretty disappointing with the price you pay for your meal. I am not sure what else must be microwaved as well as I heard it going on and off the whole time I was there. My eggplant was also definitely not fried to order as it was moist. My friend's chicken also did not look as though as it was cooked to order as there were no marks from either pan frying or baking. I am not sure I would return back again as I was pretty disappointed. The only good thing were now friendly the waitstaff were as well as the hostesses. We had Cafe Assissi cater lunch for my office today. The food was amazing. It was ready when we got there and hot when we got back to our building. Highly recommend the penne, chicken, broccoli in oil and garlic and the chicken parm with penne and marinara. Well done! We will be back! read more

Love it here? The food is so good! The crust on the pizza is paper thin and crispy! The calzones are amazing! The crust is browned to perfection but yet nice and soft! The dessert, we had cannoli, was also good. We have ordered many things there, we've grabbed take out as well. Never disappointed! The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms! The butternut squash ravioli is out of this world! Probably the best ravioli I've ever had, I highly recommend this dish. Portion sizes are big so the price is worth it. I also got the gnocchi alla bolognese with no meat sauce as a vegetarian option- was good but would recommend the ravioli over this gnocchi. read more

I went to lunch at Cafe Assisi on a recommendation from a friend of mine. Although I didn't get too far into the Menu I was not disappointed at all with my lunch. The service was very friendly and professional. I was warmly greeted as I walked in. I would consider the dining room intimate but not claustrophobic. I don't believe they would be able to accommodate a large group. Maybe there is another larger seating area? There is outdoor seating that I imagine they have available in the warmer months. I ordered a sandwich off of the special menu which was amazing! It was a HUGE Italian grinder on steroids. It had all sorts of quality cold cut meats including Capocollo . I can't wait to return. We ordered takeout from here for a quick afternoon lunch. I decided to try something different than what I would normally get. I ended up ordering the Frank Sinatra - fried eggplant with roasted red peppers, spring mix and pesto aioli servd on a plain wrap. I was slightly disappointed. The end of the wrap ended up very oily which made it difficult to eat without getting it on your hands. The eggplant was so thinly sliced and mushy that I could barely tell it was there among all of the breading (also mushy). There was a plentiful amount of the red peppers and less of the spring mix but the amount of ingredients was balanced fairly well. If I could rate this a 2.5 star, I probably would. I think part of my issue with this experience was that I did try something out of my comfort zone, did not like it, and it was not prepared the way it could have been. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals andcl a bite of my husbands meatball sandwich told me that they are capable of making good food. However there were a lot of food options in the area if we are ever in town for another event. read more

This is our typical go-to, but went the other night for a chicken ceasar and the fish special. The chicken breast was sliced in half, so it was very thin and it was only one half of chicken with a lot of lettuce...the fish was a small piece of fish on top of a bed of spinach...and after starting with their calamari, which was rubbery and skimpy...the total was $75....I get it, inflation, but that does not impact quality...do better. read more

We live in Colorado and this is a must stop for us whenever we are in MA. We have favorites, of course, but their red sauce is delicious, so anything with red sauce will be a delight. The meatballs are full of flavor and a perfect texture. Our daughter loves their sweet potato pizza. The absolute must buy is the cannoli. Don't leave without them! read more

This restaurant is amazing. We got there 15 minutes after open Sunday, and it was full already, so we sat at the bar. Alejandro was really kind. We got a caprese salad with chicken and a Ravioli al funghi com cognac. It was wonderful. It came quickly. The place is super cute. read more

Love this place- it was great when you could eat it and good for takeout too. I love the chicken parm. They have a cute patio set up so once it gets warm out again, I will definitely be stopping by. They also have a counter with takeout food. The one downside is that the front parking lot is very small. There is a larger parking lot behind the building. read more

A very cute place and you definitely need to make reservations. The risotto filled pepper we got for an appetizer was really good but the shrimp on top of it was really, really overcooked. Like 3 days overcooked. Not sure why they even served that bad boy on top Anyways, throw the shrimp to the side and the delicious warm risotto with the shrimp inside was perfection! I would go again just for that appetizer. Entrees were good. When I see pasta with red sauce just poured over it, that really bothers me. Everyone knows you are supposed to marry the sauce with the pasta. I did not get a red sauce dish b/c I saw a few people did and I noticed the red sauce just poured over. I've been to Italy many times so I'm a hard person to please when it comes to Italian food. They do a great job for the size of the place and we enjoyed our night out there. read more

Very Pleasant Experience. We came for lunch, it was quiet but fully staffed, as the lunch progressed the restaurant filled, it was only 12:30, by the end of our lunch we felt lucky that we didn't have to wait. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich, it came on a sub roll and I added pickles, cheese and onions. It was good didn't come with any side but was filling. My partner had Nona's Pizza, a chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza, he ate the entire thing and was very happy. The decor and set up was lacking but nothing I wouldn't come back for. I would definitely be interested in coming back for a dinner but clearly need a reservation. read more

Ok Italian food. Nothing special but definitely satisfying. The place is tiny, so unless you're like us and show up at 4:30 on a Thursday, don't expect to be seated without a reservation. Nice open kitchen layout surrounded by tables. We tried their Mama Deb pizza (meat lovers) and mushroom ravioli. The pizza was nice and thin, well seasoned and topped. Mushroom ravioli were buried in tomato sauce and huge tomato chunks. The dish came with goat cheese, which is a favorite, but it overwhelmed the flavors. Could hardly taste the mushroom at all. Bread was nice, as you'd expect, but the dipping oil mix was too spicy (I have zero tolerance for spicy, so it may work for other people). Maybe I'll swing by another day for takeout tiramisu to see how it is. read more
