What a fun spot to have the rice table experience. We loved it. Great ambiance upstairs - low lighting, candles and more quiet than the room below. This looks like a great cafe- restaurant to hang out but I was a little disappointed. We had breakfast. The Viennese breakfast was just ok, the croissant was stale and not fresh from the day, the bread in general was a little disappointing. The deli meat was also not up to usual Viennese standard. La Marianne had lots of fatty meat hiddenly chopped and the cheese sauce on top was also great. The egg was well-poached. We stayed for a while and wanted to order more drinks but no one ever came. It was pretty loud for a Sunday morning. I disliked the atmosphere inside. Nice outside seating area would be better if the weather permits. read more

Lovely spot! Every dish and drink was delicious and the staff was great. Highly recommend the grilled eggplant.

Close to our hotel we decided to walk over for a nice lunch. Unfortunately we couldn't get seating outside but had a spot inside next to window. They offer several tables next to the window and you have a nice breeze so it's worth it if you can't get outside seating. We had a few dishes that pleased our tastebuds and looking forward to a repeat visit. We actually went for a walk and came back to sit on patio for some tea, cappuccino and desert (lava cake). Cappuccino and lava cake are a great combo and amazing ending to a nice lunch. read more

5 stars for how gorgeous the place is, and it's location. 3 stars for how expensive it is, and because I wasn't super impressed. I met a friend and we shared a dessert. I really felt "meh" about the taste, but the presentation was gorgeous. I'd be willing to go back and try other food on the menu, or to return for coffee since the location and atmosphere are exceptional. While we were trying to have a conversation, staff were fussing around with the ice and it was really noisy. Obviously they have a job to do, but it went on for some time, and I felt like it disrupted the atmosphere. This is of course most likely a one-off experience. read more

Very good and great relaxed atmosphere. I always find the waiting staff very friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and good value. Some of it could be said to be quite pricy but you get what you pay for. An absolute must to try here is the Khachapuri (Georgian bread) a delicious calorie bomb and especially good if you like bread and cheese! read more

Could I give more than five stars.., the Russian breakfast (vodka optional) consists of a warm pancake with curd, walnut apricot jam (to die for!!), a very tasty beetroot salad, egg with smoked salmon and a liver paste (not a fan of liver, so did not try). The Georgian breakfast is a sumptuous piece of cheesebread with an egg - sunny side up - on top. This was WOW! Oh yes I forgot, there is a tasty little salad on the side. I should not forget to mention the lovely terrace outside; you are right in the middle of the city, but this part of the Praterstrasse is very quiet. Lavender lemonade is to be recommended too. Ok, the service was really slow... Five stars for this breakfast then :) read more

Food looked awesome on the menu and was really good once it got to our tastebuds. The place was roomy and cozy, we could easily navigate a double pram through the tables and find a quiet corner. The staff was a long way from coming across as friendly (especially the one waitress that served us for most of our brunch) Quite expensive. read more

My fiancée and I came here for brunch and were surprised to find that the outside seating areas were all reserved on a Tuesday morning. We were able to easily get a nice seat inside, however. The menu items are largely on the more expensive side of the two Euro sign rating, but there are a few more reasonably priced items. I ordered the sunny-side eggs with bacon, and it was fantastic! My fiancée got the Muesli with yogurt and fruit - even though I hardly consider that a meal, she recommends it. I'd recommend this to anyone in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to get here. read more

Delicious breakfast. I got the Russian Breakfast with Vodka! The environment was very friendly and everything was good.

I mean... empf. Seems extremely variable depending on the day you go in terms of both the food and the service. Once at night and once during lunch I went, neither time did it seem too full, and the waiters just completely ignored us for almost an hour, even though we had turned our chairs to stare at them (they just stood behind the bar casually chatting amoungst the three of them for the most part). Another time it was fairly fast. In terms of the food, also not so impressed. You can have lunch menu there for about 8 Euros, including soup/salad choice to start and then main dish. Dinner can be 8 to 20 Euros, most around 8 to 13 Euros, which is standard price I would say in Vienna, but expensive for how unimpressed I am, and how not specially fresh I find the food. Drinks (non alcoholic) around 3-4 Euros, nothing special, so mid price in Vienna. Just do not find the food specially exciting, not specially Georgian when they do the lunch menu, I think I had a burrito, and I think last time our food was even not freshly made (felt like maybe they microwaved it). Honestly I only go back because one of my best girlfriends loves it, but she says I just go on unlucky days. Three times "unlucky" for me is statical average enough to say no, not planning to go back. Ambiance is nothing special. Not too loud music, can have nice lighting. I would say casual date, not special date. Feels like we sit very near to the other tables and I can almost stretch a little and eat the food from the other table as I enjoy their conversation. So, maybe try somewhere else, but if you are walking and see the Vapiano near it or this as the option, take this if you want to have a more sit down relax time in a traditional sense. read more

5 stars for the location, it's a really nice place if you can sit outside. 4 stars because they have good beer. 2 stars for the disinterested service person (did she smoke something before her shift?) But the biggest critique has got to be the pricing. 1 star. Some items are fairly priced, although the portions are not big. One really bad example is the beef tartare. It's good and the presentation is lovely. But for the price it would have to be twice the amount, as it is in other comparable establishments, i.e. high-priced cafes in Vienna. read more

What a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I met up with a friend for a goodbye breakfast and enjoyed the spinage and cheese omelette, a croissant, and a nice cup of tea. My friend had the same with a coffee and loved it. She said it was so nice to enjoy the foam as well as the coffee! Nicholas the waiter, who speaks three languages, was incredibly nice and helpful. They offer a great deal on lunch menus and I look forward to going back. I am not sure why the price listing on here is so high. They are very reasonable. All daily lunch specials that I saw are under 10 euros and my breakfast was only 12. The main restaurant is non-smoking and offers outdoor seating as well. read more

I enjoyed here a small breakfast. Even if I did not have any reservation, the waitress gave me immediately a table and served me really fast. The breakfast menu is interesting with particular breakfast packages. I had only a pancake, a caffé latte and a glass of pear juice. Everything came pretty fast (despite the comments in the other reviews). The pancake was tasty but not really exceptional. For the three items above I paid 13,10€. You can find as well other places where you can get a large selection of good products with the same price. Anyway I will come back to cafe Ansari since at the end it was a good experience. read more

We went for a Sunday brunch at 1400 (they close at 1500 and stop placing orders at 1430.) I had a really refreshing Apfel, Karat, Rote Rübe Saft, and the Georgisches Frühstück. This consisted of a cheese (maybe goat?) filled yeast dough with a baked, very runny, egg yoke on top and a tomato cucumber salad on the side. It was quite unique and not too expensive. I probably could have eaten 3 of them, but the shear fat-percentage in one was probably higher then I normally eat each day. Either way, it was delicious. The service was OK, but I could assume that it gets worse and not better; plus, they kinda forced us out right at 1500. This is why I went for 3 and not 4 stars. read more

Very highly recommended over Motto Am Fluss Cafe. They have brunch until 1400 (a time that makes sense versus the other cafe's 1210 brunch end time). They have a very friendly staff and even had an English menu for me and a German menu for my boyfriend. The food was also very delicious (we shared 3 items and all of them were equally as scrumptious). It was very busy but didn't affect the quality of food since it seemed they had a large staff.
