I stumbled upon Café Aroma's third location when they opened last month but alas did not have time to go in. I finally went this week to check them out.
The menu has the usual café offerings (baked goods, sandwiches, platters, soups, drinks, etc.) with the addition of acai bowls and smoothies. And in the cold cases, they had some pre-made meals to go (noodles, sandwiches, cut fruit, and soups) that weren't on the menu.
I ordered a Chocolate Pretzel ($4.95), Nutella Croissant ($4.95) and Avocado Toast ($10.95). The Avocado Toast was decent. It just needed a dash of hot sauce, but I did not find any at the table. I liked that it was topped with a fried runny egg, but I could tell the sandwich wasn't fresh as the avocados were not the usual vibrant green color. They asked if I wanted it to be heated, which I appreciated. The Chocolate Pretzel was wonderful. It wasn't overly sweet and had a great crunchy texture from the chopped nuts. I would definitely recommend getting this. The Nutella Croissant was also good. It had Nutella inside and bits of chocolate topping. Surprisingly, not too sweet and would be great with coffee or tea.
The café is conveniently located a few blocks from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center. This place is great if you need a quick meal/snack before seeing a show or need to grab a bagel in the morning (they have a huge selection of bagels). Definitely recommend trying then out. read more
