    Mais con yelo

If you love ube, do yourself a favor and stop by Cafe 86 in Valencia. This place is upbeat, trendy, and just plain fun. The music sets a great vibe and makes it feel like a lively dessert spot rather than just another café. The staff was fantastic -- super friendly and genuinely happy to walk us through the menu. If you're not familiar with some of the Filipino desserts, they're more than willing to explain all the different ingredients and flavors, which made ordering a lot more fun. We tried a few things and honestly everything was great. The ube truffles were rich and decadent, the mais con yelo was refreshing and creamy, and the halo halo was colorful, layered, and packed with flavor. But the real star of the show was the Ube Crack Cheesecake. I'm not exaggerating when I say it lives up to the name -- it's dangerously addictive. Creamy, sweet, perfectly balanced, and something I'll absolutely be coming back for. Inside there's a decent amount of seating which makes it easy to hang out and enjoy your dessert. Just note there's no outdoor seating, but the lively indoor vibe more than makes up for it. If you're looking for unique desserts and a fun atmosphere, Cafe 86 is definitely worth the stop.

We grabbed a combination of pastries from this spot when we were in the area. I hadn't heard about this place before but the desserts looked so good that we couldn't resist. We ended up with a baked goods sampler pack: Ube Leche Flan Cupcake, Ube Crack Cheesecake, Ube Crinkles, Ube Truffle, Ube Butter Bar, Ube Tres Leches, and Turon Pop Tart. All of the treats were delicious. Full of flavor, fluffy and made me cherish every bite. The creative use of the ube flavors made into different desserts was pretty interesting. I also liked their unique take on classic or traditional sweet treats. The presentation was pretty amazing and I also liked that they were able to package these treats to go and keep them fully intact and looking as good and as fresh as if it was just made. I will definitely be coming back to this spot and checking out other items from the menu in the future.

Positives first: Great parking very easy. It's very clean inside! .. Ok the negative: I'm sorry I know everyone gave raving reviews but I have to be honest. I only made it halfway with my drink. My wife is upset. She wanted us to go back and return the drinks. No exaggeration. Even my ma in law and my stepson didn't like the taste. I'm not sure you should call this halo halo. Maybe call it "another version of halo halo" so that ppl dont expect the typical and true tasting halo halo. I was super looking forward to trying this place out. Especially hearing they serve halo halo and mais con yelo. I was wondering why the halo halo was brown.?!? The milk tastes like chocolate molasses! WAY TOOOOOO MANY CORNFLAKES! there was only jelly like two pieces of strings of fake langka. I was disappointed. Worst halo halo i've ever eaten. Sorry! The mais con yelo had way too many cornflakes too! The ube ice cream threw it off as well. If you wanna put ice cream it should be mais too otherwise it ruins the taste. I'm sure all other drinks are good here... which I will try too - but this review in particular is for these two. We bought 4 total. Won't buy these again...

Being a frequent customer of Cafe 86 for many years, I was thrilled when they finally opened a location in Santa Clarita which is closer to home. Their Ube desserts are legendary. My personal favorites are the Ube Leche Flan cakes, Ube truffles, Ube Crack Cheesecakes, Ube Crinkle Cookies and their Halo-Halo. We visited during their grand opening weekend and it was packed with a long line inside the store. Since then, the hype has died down so you can easily pop in and out for some delicious desserts. The store is spacious and parking is never an issue.

Didn't know they opened one up here so I definitely had to make a visit! Already love this location compared to the Northridge one due to their earlier opening hours and larger parking!! Was able to park right up front, lots of parking spots available as well. Walked in and were greeted by the very friendly staff. Lots of seating and love the overall vibe of this place. There was another couple enjoying their halo-halo and then a lady had a pick up order for a bunch of drinks! My drinks also came out very quickly, freshly made boba, strong coffee and perfect sweetness. I LOVE their cookie butter lattes and very satisfied with this location! Worth the drive out. I don't have a sweet tooth but I'll have to pick up some desserts next time! IG: @ammysalamii

I came on a weekday evening for a quick snack while visiting the area. I'm a huge fan of Ube and Oreos, so this seemed perfect. The interior was very clean and minimal. My drink was prepared very quickly and the front staff was friendly. My mini Ube monster milkshake started off quite icy, but became creamier as I kept drinking. Overall, I had a great experience and will return to try the other desserts.

    Ube Matcha

I'm glad they opened one of these in the SCV, they are great options for quick and delicious Filipino goods and drinks. The Ube matcha was great, I'm not a huge matcha fan but the Ube made it sweet enough for me to enjoy the flavor. We also ordered the Ube crinkles but they were eaten so quickly we did not get the time to take a picture!

This place is super cute! Lots of places to sit makes this a great place to visit so the friends and get some tasty treats! I got there at lunchtime and was really hungry so I ordered the turkey pesto sandwich and the ube cheesecake and ube flan cupcake Everything was delicious - the sandwich was a decent size and came with chips which was nice. I would get this again The ube treats were delicious and I can't wait to come back and try more!

    Halo halo upside down

I had their delicious ube upside down halo halo. The ube based halo halo. I always love halo halo and most places only give you a small scoop of one ice cream and when you mix it with your milk based. Sometimes never enough ube to taste it. This one is ube based. So so good. With corn flakes and leche flan and a scoop of vanilla ice cream as toppings. You got your usual halo halo mix on the bottom. Service is quick and friendly. Ambiance is great and spacious. Playing good music when I went! I will definitely come back when I crave for ube and halo halo!

Cafe 86, a Filipino dessert treasure. I've been to the one in northridge and this newer variation has been brought closer ti where I live. The employees are Filipino and Asian decent. Service was tolerable and wait time was average. The customer service wasn't the greatest but they were neutral. Inside is clean and desirable to look at. The selection of desserts included ube pastries, donuts, cookies and flan. We ordered the flan, ube muffin, ube brownie and Mai's corn square. All of which was overpriced. $6.50 each and they were just the square sized portions. It was sweet as expected but the texture was great. I ordered a black coffee but mine came with ice cream and foam on top which I did not order. It tasted better than full black, but was also pricey. About $7 for this medium sized coffee with cream. The other ordered was an ube upside down shake as they call it. This shake came with frosted flake cereal, flan, ube ice cream, vanilla cream and a bunch of small spherical colored raisins in the middle and bottom of the shake. It was very sweet and overpriced as well. It was $10 for the medium, but it tasted the best of the desserts ordered. Although the price is high, the desserts are better than most if not all in Santa Clarita. If you crave a sweet tooth, it might be worth giving it a one time try. I enjoyed the flavors, not the value. The flan and ube muffin was also a highlight. They had churros and other shakes like the Cookie Monster shake with vanilla shaved ice and other candies on it. Unique and certainly worth a trip, but I thought it mostly as a dessert place you would otherwise go to when you are with your girlfriend, boyfriend or just after eating dinner at a restaurant place.

    Upside Down Halo-Halo
    Rochelle M.

My son has been in my ear about Cafe 86. I was meeting up with a friend on Thursday afternoon so I thought it would be a good time to give them a try. We arrived around 2pm. It was relatively quiet with no one in line and only a couple tables occupied. The team member at the register was nice enough to explain the difference between the Halo-Halos. Two upside-down Halo-Halo's came out to $24.03 (with tax). It didn't take long for our order to come out. Nice presentation and overall just ok. I didn't like the frosted flakes that got grossly soggy midway through and the leche flan was dense. The Laguna Treat from BobaBoba is better (and costs less). The team needs customer service training. They seemed mildly engaged in doing their jobs. We weren't greeted when we walked in or while at the register. No one smiled or thanked us at any point. The ambiance - cute decor and clean tables. It gets busy and quite noisy around 2:45-3pm when the high school gets out. This lasted for about an hour. It was finally quiet again, until an odd couple came in. The woman knew a young female team member who quickly ran out from behind the counter. They hugged and screamed in greeting each other. Then it turned into a selfie-fest, then group photos, then more selfies along with loud conversations right in front of the register/menu board. This went on and on. It was incredibly distracting/annoying and no longer enjoyable, so we left.

A friend told me to check this place out so yesterday I was craving something sweet so I finally decided to go. It's really close and I pass by this location all the time. I never noticed it. I'm so glad my friend suggested it. I ordered the Ube Monster shake and it was delicious. I drank it so fast I wish I ordered another one. I was slurping from my straw. Lol! The inside was clean, spacious and a lot of seating. It wasn't too crowded, just one person ahead of me that was being served when I walked in. I had no idea there were so many other locations because this was my first time hearing of it. There's so many options to choose from. I will definitely be back to try one of their lattes. The guy in front of me had one and it looked amazing.

Ordered the sampler pack and upside down halo halo. So yummy!
