Love that this cozy little place is a local family owned business. It's not really Greek, not really middle eastern. Owner is half Greek, half Egyptian & that unique diversity shows in the menu. LOVE the Hot pita that just shows up at your table & the hummus is some of the best I have ever had. However, the chicken shawarma was not a typical shawarma it didn't have the pickle & the pita wrap was very thin. Too thin for my taste. It fell apart too easily. The falafel was ok but there was not very many veggies inside, it fell completely apart & the sesame sauce was not my thing. I haven't tried everything on the menu I would like to. I would give it another go & try some other things if in the area. The service is fantastic & the patio was lovely. read more

Thuy and I have been here many times, just not recently enough to warrant a review. Yesterday Thuy comes up with a craving and here we are. In the times that we have been here, we've never had a bad meal. Spotty service at times, but certainly not last night. Service was great, as was our meal. We started with the Meza Plate, which is humus, babaghanoosh and tzatziki (a great choice when you can't decide). Thuy likes the eggplant (babaghanoosh), while I'm a fan of the humus and tzatziki. I can't eat here without having the gyros, which I think are some of the best in the Metroplex. Thuy will usually be tempted by one of the specials, which on this night was lamb chops. Both entrees came with soup or salad. Thuy had the cream of mushroom soup (there were a couple of other options), for balance I went salad (but I should have gotten the soup as it was very good). Neither entree disappointed and portions were such that we took food home. I did forget it was BYOB, so I was left drinking tea. Cafe Medi also has hookahs, which is something I've never tried, but it does seem to be a very popular (outdoor) activity. The website has the hookah menu if you are interested. read more

I went here last week to celebrate my birthday with a friend. She had the vegetarian plate and I had the lamb ... something? I forgot, but you can tell by the picture that it was so tender and juicy! I couldn't finish the entire meal, so I ended up taking most of it to go. We received pita while we were waiting for the entrees to arrive which was nice and the waiter was very responsive. We came in the evening and there weren't that many customers, but when we left the tables started to fill up. Overall, my experience here was wonderful! We've been coming to this location for years now, and I can't stress how much we love this place. The food, ambience, and level of service are all top notch! Since the pandemic started, we haven't gone out much (naturally), but since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, decided to pick up a Gyro plate and a Mezze plate to split for dinner. Not only was our order ready before the quoted time, it was also packed well, and still hot and delicious when we got it home. The best part though? Not only was the cashier at the drive-thru wearing a mask, she made certain to sanitize her hands before AND after any exchange of food or payment between us and herself, all the while being wonderfully friendly and polite!!! We were unable to dine in so chose moussaka, a gyro plate and sides to go. The restaurant looked warm and clean with indoor and outdoor seating but we missed the experience of staff and service. A mix of Mediterranean cuisine offerings are the menu including desserts, all were hot, fresh and exceeded expectations. Maybe a bit pricey but for the portions and quality a great value. read more

My family and I had dinner here tonight. We tried a variety of their food as it was our first visit from the amazing tomato basil bisque, the lentil soup, to the veggie plate, musaka, and joy mixed grille plater. We all tried each other's dishes and they were all good I dare say very good. You can tell they make most ingredients fresh because my taziki sauce was a bit runny yet my wife's was think. Minor con not that big a deal. I was blown away by the chicken mixed with the garlic sauce. I made sure to get an extra cup to go for my leftovers. The pita bread was good but some olive oil would have been nice. Again only a minor con. The Greek potato and veggies were tasty. On my plate I had Souvlaki beef, Souvlaki chicken and Kefta Kabob. The beef and chicken were really good. I wasn't keen on the kefta kabob but my son loved it! We were all full and took home leftovers so no desert.... I would go back again and would recommend Cafe Medi to a friend. The service was prompt and courteous but lacking in personality but maybe I'm just picky on how service should be. She was very skilled though, or cups were always topped of before a quarter cup and our food was promptly delivered so it's not like she did a bad job. Handicap amenities like ramps and parking are available but not clearly marked... major bummer there. read more

I've tried twice to give this place a chance. I've only ordered food for pick up. I'm really curious as to how you're treated for dine in because take out Conversations resemble talking to your tax accountant and finding out you're not getting the refund you were promised. Extremely antagonistic personnel... Bearing in mind I'm sure they are overworked due to the "unprecedented times". But the owners seem to be wonderful and helpful and happy about having customers. I haven't even started on the food witches average Mediterranean food and nothing to write home or here about. Sweet family run spot, we hear they've been around for ever, which I awesome! Dimly lit, cozy spot. There is hookah which was a negative for us but not a concern in the main dining area. We were seated by the kitchen and it was very entertaining to watch the chef calling for service all evening - he means business! We had a nice, young server, attentive. Food was fresh and flavored nicely. Definitely not the best we've had, definitely not the worst. We would go back! The hummus was smooth and creamy, falafel crispy but a little underwhelming on flavor, as was the tabouli. Mains were good, meats tender and juicy, with lots of flavor. I first came here about a decade ago and it is still one of the best Greek restaurants in the area. The charbroiled chicken is one of my favorite dishes here. It comes with quite a lot of food! This place is in a shopping strip just off Highway 26, next to the Mcdonalds and Wingstop. They have an outdoor patio if you care to partake in a hookah and another plus is this place is byob. Bring a bottle of wine and they'll supply the wine glass. Most times when I come this place is pretty busy but It was fairly quiet when we came on my most recent trip on a Sunday around 7:45 PM. They close at 9 and I believe are closed on Mondays. The hummus comes in a nice spread and has a great taste to it worth trying it if you like hummus. The charbroiled chicken takes some time cook but it is tasty! Comes with a heaping portion of rice, green beans and all of it is great. We loved the food. My husband and ordered the gyro pita wrap and got the small salad substitute. The was indeed small but good. They also served warm pita while we were waiting for our order. It was very good. The gyro wrap was not greasy; we were delighted. The sauce complimented the wrap. We will definitely go back. It is a small place but it was packed. Cafe Medi HIT THE SPOT. Tightly knit family-run joint serving up great hummus and tasty Mediterranean treats. Manager/Owner took our order. We needed to hurry to an escape room, told him so, and he immediately sprung into action. He flung on an apron, cooked our food in record time and served it with a smile. Saw it while driving, turned around. Went into the restaurant (doors were open). Very dark....beyond dim...especially for a restaurant. All the way to the back were a group of people sitting. I walked further to them thinking there would be a carry out area. I was asled if i could be helped. "Yes i need a menu" A menu?....tge employee asked...i said yes a menu...do you have menus at this restaurant...he gave it to me then walked away. I asked if i was going to be helped....a rude customer intervened that was sitting...won't go into how he acted...with his demeanor and the way i was treated with no customer service....i won't return. Let me make mention again...their doors were open...no hours visible...and was told arrogantly by the customer they close at 2:30 and to come back at 5:00 and to get over it. Not once did an employee there assist with cs. From this experience i won't go back. Too dark in the restaurant...no customer service skills....and the atmosphere and energy is wicked. Why haveI not been here before?! I drive by this restaurant every day and for years I have said "I need to check it out!" So glad I did! The place is BYOB, so be sure to grab your favorite beer or wine and bring it in. There is a nice enclosed patio that is also very nice to sit in. The portion sizes are very generous. My first trip here we ordered an appetizer and two entrees each. We ended up taking most of it home! This next trip, we decided to get three appetizers and then split a meal between three of us. Still brought home leftovers! Each meal is severed with warm pita bread, and choice of lemon rice soup or salad. On our most recent visit, westarted with a trio of hummus, tabouli and babaganoush. We also tried falafel and dolmas. The dolmas can be served warm or cold. We opted for warm. My favorite was the dolmas. So flavorful. Then we had the gyro. You can have this served in a large pita or without. Since we were sharing, we opted for without and each made our own little Greek tacos with the pita they already bring to the table. The gyro meat was so tender and flavorful. On the trip prior, I had the chicken schwarma. It was very good! Tender, moist and yummy flavors! My husband tried the mousaka, which he said was excellent!
