@Eating.Drinking: Paris. * The city of love. Home to the Eiffel Tower, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dame and boulangeries on every street. * There is an array of stunning cuisine but the one meal that shines through was actually a very simple set menu breakfast at Cafe De Paris. * Freshly baked croissant Freshly baked bread Jams Freshly squeezed juice Omelette Fresh coffee * All of that for just €13! * Not only that, I felt like I was on a Parisian film set. The location exemplifies Parisian lifestyle, with a gentle buzz as the locals go about their Sunday morning activities, buying produce from boulangeries and fresh food from fish, meat and cheese stalls just across the street. The perfect setting for a wonderful traditional Parisian breakfast. * www.cafedeparissaintgermain.com * 10 rue de buci, Paris, France

Our Parisian friend didn't know where to go in this touristy part of her city. The five of us decided to just try this place, alert for "Waikiki" or "Times Square" prices and portions. Friendly enough brasserie, with a simple (for France!) menu. And, I got to enjoy foie gras, which many U.S. restaurants now cannot serve thanks to government Big Brothers. Would I return to Café de Paris? Nah. That'd be like eating all the time at the same taco stand in Los Angeles. There are too many quaint bistros and brasseries to locate and try in the City of Light.

Four stars for the location, 2 for the food, 3.5 for the wine. Stayed in a fifth floor vrbo rental on the fantastic rue de buci, so this place was one of our main stops on the walk back after a long night on the town. Very friendly, accessible, great for people-watching, and having a good night cap. Really good bread, crispy fries, and decent soups. If you go during beaujolais season, this place really jollies it up. Hence, be festive and order a few bottles and relive the hijinks of the evening. Very friendly service and convenient.

Delicious fir a quick bite and a dink. We had a large appetizer with a terrific variety of cheeses (6) and 5 typescript meats. Served with a basket of crusty bread. We also enjoyed a bowl of onion soup that was to dye for. The server was very friendly and accommodating.

We ate here for our first night staying in the St. Germain des Prés area - the food was delicious, felt authentic, not as touristy as it may look, and service was prompt and polite. Reasonable prices, and great location. Highly recommended.

Just down the street from our hotel and along the small Rue de Buci, this little spot is good for people watching. Since it was open a little later on a Monday night, it was a perfect spot to grab a little nibble. I would say that the food is just average, but the location bumps it up and our server was very sweet with a smile. Stick with basic fare and you'll be cool.

I couldn't tell if this was a real apple or some fancy French creation made to look like one - that's how real it looked! The mousse and apple bits were cold & delicious and the chocolate shell was good, but not sure if it was worth the price at €7.5. + Pain Au Chocolat Cookie - Verrrry good chocolate chip cookie, chocolate croissant mashup. Only thing that we were missing was some good ol' milk! + Almond Croissant - Once again, delicious! Solid croissant and definitely a good grab and go candidate. = Citronnade - Was just OK. Lemonade that was on the watered down side, but was somewhat refreshing because I was dying of thirst. THE SERVICE ----------------------- - Employee who helped us with our order was friendly, but the cashier was a bit blah and not exactly the friendliest person, especially when we asked for extra utensils and napkins. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ - Smallish, tight interior that you can dine in at, but don't be surprised if the next table is sitting on top of you. + There are also 5 outdoor tables on the narrow street. - Entrance is tight too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Even though this bakery is ranked highly on Tripadvisor, there was no crowd on the Monday morning that we swung by. Line moved superfast.

We came here for some coffee on a rainy afternoon, but were pleasantly surprised to see escargot on the menu too and figured we'd give it a shot. Coffee wise we got the vienna coffee which had chocolate inside. It was good, with a nice espresso flavor and a huge dollop of whipped cream on top. A nice pick me up for the day. The escargot on the other hand, was so fantastic. They were served all cute in their little shells on a tray, and bubbling when we first got them. The green sauce that they came with was fantastic, and the butter was also a great addition! This made for such a flavorful little bite - escargots taste like little chewy clams to me, nothing strange at all. It also came with a few pieces of baguette to soak up the yummy sauce. Service was friendly and the inside of the restaurant has such a nice vibe. I would definitely recommend this spot!

They have a clean bathroom upstairs, you'll just need to climb the staircase. We ordered the strawberry crepe and duck and asparagus galette bretonne. So there's actually a bit of a difference between a crepe and a galette. Crepes are usually sweet and made with wheat flour, while galettes are usually savory and made with buckwheat flour. Between the two, I enjoyed the strawberry crepe more, the strawberry jam made the crepe a delicious sweet treat. The flavors of the galette weren't as satisfying to my tastebuds, but I still enjoyed it. I would be interesting in trying other galette flavors next time. While my expectations weren't fully realized (I didn't LOVE it), I still enjoyed giving Breizh Cafe a try.
