What an ambience, too bad food didn't match

Can't complain about the convenience, ambience or speed of service. Located on the 5th floor and so convenient after you finish the highlights of the French impressionist! How was the food, well totally MEH, what would you expect, LOL

The clock. Be aware if you have a table close to it as everyone wants to take a picture with it. It gets crowded with Instagram models.

Honestly the fact that it was dinner time and we were in the museum drew us here. The ambience was the best part of the meal. It's a fantastic room and we loved sitting by the clock. The service was ok. Our waitress was fine, she wasn't nice or outgoing but she did her job so that's all we could ask for. The food was about the same. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't fantastic either. Maybe we were spoiled by all of the amazing food we had eaten elsewhere but the food here just didn't impress us. To be sure it did its job, it gave us energy and allowed us a chance to rest and get off our feet, which honestly was the best part of the experience. If you're on the fence about eating here, go somewhere else. If you just want a cool eating experience in a museum cafe with a super cool clock, then by all means eat here. They don't take reservations so the wait may be long, for us it was only about 5 minutes around 6pm. Be aware if you have a table close to the clock as everyone wants to take a picture with it. We did too, so no judgement. Just realize it gets crowded with Instagram models. But that was fun too, just people watching while you wait for your food.

What could you possibly want more after a mildly exhausting stroll through the fabulous Musee de Orsay? Why.... I for one want a beautiful restaurant, courteous service and (...ahem...) reasonable or an inexpensive price structure. I'd then stoop to proclaiming the Campana to be a raging bargain!!! I was just entering a long line when a hostess walked up asking how many were in our group... I said 4... So she was about to seat me ahead of 20-25 people. Immediately I explained that I was waiting for the other 3 in our group... She smiled and replied that I was "0k"... Sigh So I got the "best table" in my estimation, right next to the giant iconic clock.... Where I proceeded to call n text my family to hustle on over. I felt a bit guilty, however, a passing waitress gave me absolutely zero grief. When the last person was coming to our table, I watched as a hostess spotted her, and waved her forward to cut the line! Up. Incredibly attentive and helpful! There was a gentleman in a black suit who looked to be in charge. He came over to take our order and was exceptionally patient. We were not hurried or hustled along 1% ... It was all so relaxed and professional from ALL of the staff. Okay So I looked at the menu... Expecting that such a beautiful restaurant in a prime super high demand location with supremely. Excellent staff would have a bit of sticker shock. And boy was I shocked how reasonable the menu prices were! At least to my sense of cost per person I thought this was almost inexpensive!!! We ordered two beef & taters dishes, one chicken curry rice... 59€ complete! Bread, butter n water rounded things out cozy. So why 5 stars.... Are we crazy??? This is worth 100 stars if just being tired and having such a fine dining option right at our fingertips counts for anything! Such a fab experience... Thanks shouted out to the staff & Musee de Orsay

We are big fans of a museum restaurant or cafe. We find that they often have a menu and chef that considers their food art. No exception here. The service was fast, food was tasty and the selections were great. Can't go wrong with the quiche. It's a giant space so not very cozy but that's ok; looking at the clock was cool!

On the fifth floor hidden in a corner was the cafe. We got here early because I needed a coffee & there wasn't a line yet. I ordered a quiche & my husband a lasagna bolognese. Service was wonderful, coffee was superb & I really enjoyed my lunch & the atmosphere. My husband wasn't impressed with his lasagna & said mine is better. We shared a tiramisu for dessert that was awesome. When we left there was a very long line to get inside.

When in Paris, get a museum pass and make Musee d'Orsay your first stop. The restaurants in this area are very limited. But I saw the museum had something. The environment with the big clock is epic. The service staff are all very friendly and the food is good. Basically, you have all the amazing art in the Musee d'Orsay and then you have this gem on the top floor to refuel. As always, I think it's fair to speak as much French as you know how being that you're in France. But the staff here was gracious and quick regardless of whether people tried.

Great place to go while at the Orsay. We got the french flan and it was amazing. The drinks are very good and inexpensive, the service was fast and friendly.

    Salade d'oeufs et grilled vegetables

The service seemed to be lacking. Our waiter stopped in the middle of taking our order--while my friend was speaking-- to do something for two other tables. I will say that I was a big fan of my chocciato and the salad d'oeufs with grilled vegetables was very good. The portion was tiny given that it said it belonged to the large salad category on the menu, but it surprisingly was very filling? Or that might have been the chocciato which had the ideal sized portions of chocolate and coffee. The decor can't be beat. Big fan of the lighting, chairs, and the large clock on the far wall.

The bistro of the Musee D'Orsay, the deco is quite nice and the food was good too, having in consideration that you are in a museum! El bistro del Museo D'Orsay, la deco es bastante linda y la comida estuvo muy bien también, teniendo en cuenta que estamos en un museo!

Stopped in here for a quick bite and an energy pick me up towards the end of a long day of sight seeing. It really hit the spot. Highly recommend making it a part of your museum visit. First the decor itself is a refresher. Stunningly beautifully decorated, you can begin to unwind and relax as you let the atmosphere wash over you. The food was well presented and tasty. Service was prompt and accommodating.

After a couple of hours of looking at paintings in the Orsay, we decided to take a break and have lunch here when we came across this place. There was no line at that time thankfully! We lucked out I guess because a line formed shortly after that! Aa usual bread was brought to our table after we ordered. In France butter is not served with bread, so you'll have to ask for butter if you want to butter your bread. I'm fine with no butter. The bread is good on its own. We asked for a carafe of water as it was a warm day and all that walking to and inside the museum has made me thirsty. Tap water in Paris is perfectly good to drink, so save some money and ask for "une carafe d'eau s'il vous plait" when eating out! My husband ordered the penne pasta dish which is vegetarian and has a nice amount of shaved Parmesan on top. I ordered the Beef Stir-fry noodles. The pasta was better than my stir-fry. My stir fry had too much onions and not enough beef. The sauce was okay. My husband's dish had a nice sauce and the generous shavings of Parmesan made it even better. For dessert, I ordered an espresso to go with a slice of their Blueberry Tart. The tart was great . You can't go wrong with fruit tarts in Paris. They had a couple of other tarts, but this one caught my eye. Unlike desserts in the U.S., French bakers show a little more restraint in adding sugar, so their desserts are not too sweet! The service was good here and even though they have a line of people waiting for tables, they will not rush you. In fact they will not give you the check if you don't ask for it. And even after you've paid, they still won't rush you! It is like that everywhere in Paris and I love it!

    Great cider!

We do not expect much from a museum cafe...not even in Paris. The service was warm, but once they found out we are an Italian speaking family? It was exceptional. Thanks to Francesco. The food was nothing to write home about...but the service definitely made up for it.

Having arrived directly at Musee D'Orsay off that morning's Eurostar from London, my first port of call was to grab some food to power me on my trawl through her treasures. Opting for the top floor Cafe Campana, I timed my arrival well (12.15) as there was no immediate queue to be seated at a table - when I passed by later, those queues had increased greatly. I'd already picked the pasta dish when I'd looked at the menu earlier, so it was a speedy process to make the order of that and a glass of white to go with it. I was very impressed by the quick turnaround as it probably arrived five minutes later! To be honest, it was a little bland and tasteless - but it filled me up and speed and efficiency were more important to me in this case. You wouldn't expect haute cuisine in a high turnover museum cafe. The price was about right too. But the main attraction of Cafe Campana is its decor and environment - it's mesmerising light fixtures and wall-sized clock face are dazzling and a treat for the eyes, a nice hors d'ouevre for what was to come elsewhere.

Continuing my search for the perfect baguette ... we stopped in here because everything looked so…read moregood. I did get a couple yummy desserts and a baguette. Sadly, the baguette was kind of mushy and not crispy. I did not enjoy the flavor compared to the other ones I've had in the neighborhood. I really wanted to love it... since I noticed several people walking down the street eating a baguette from here with the Merci Jerome bag in hand. Frankly, it was not my favorite and I ditched it after only one bite.

I would recommend this place! I tried their croque monsieur…read moreand Ube latte and was not disappointed. The croque monsieur had a generous pile of gruyère melted on the sides of the bread with a proportional amount of meat and filling on the inside. With the croque monsieur warmed up, it made a perfect brunch meal with the ube latte. The ube latte is exactly what you would expect but crafted carefully. I would just go back for this delightfully warm concoction in the morning. The service to go along with this made this experience more pleasant as it seems most of the employees were filipinos. They were quick to receive you and leave you beyond satisfied. The shop exudes the classic parisian aesthetic that most people would romanticize and I am glad I experienced it. I would come back for the pleasant experience - try out Merci Jérôme!
