I'll start from Cons: App is not sending you a reminder email about your reservation. No proper direction to Valet parking. You go to Neros restaurant and finds out it's other side. Then the road is closed and I had to enter from other side of the road. Checkin is not working in App. No digital room key. I booked months in advance but received city view not the lake view. Disappointing. My wife was 30+ but every security person kept asking for her ID. It was so annoying. Once enter premises there should be a facial recognition system to identify like Las Vegas without disturbing guests. Lame wifi service switches off and we have to reconnect again and again. Dusty rooms causing Runny nose. Room service is not 24hrs. When you order breakfast, beverages like tea, coffee are extra charged. If you call for tray pickup after 12:45pm they won't come till next room service shift starts at 5pm and sometimes not even till next day. Very limited movie channels on regular Tv. No TV guide. You have to download stayconnect app and pay for TvGuide. There's only channel guide without programming info. Bathroom shower cubicle tiles are dirty. Jacuzzi is inside bathroom with no view. Only 1 person can use Jacuzzi at a time. I was disturbed by fire alarm testing, but It was notified by management. Market buffet waiting lineup is better than Las Vegas. Food choices are limited. One guy to take guest to the seat. It takes long time. Pros: Valet parking is complementary and fast service. Location is next to tunnel so very convenient. Comfortable bed, forum tower is very quiet and relaxing. Elevators from tower to 2nd floor, main and ground level escalators are connecting most restaurants allows to avoid casino areas. Housekeeping staff was good. They only knocks the door after 10am. You can schedule time with them. Done a great job both times. read more

First off the room: nice view of Detroit (that feels like an oxymoron...) and comfy beds. Lots of mirrors outside the bathroom which is nice when there are multiple females. On the casino floor, there were a TON of senior citizens cracking me up. They all have leashes connecting them to the slot machines via their rewards cards. I didn't play as much as watch other people in my party play (not a lot of free cash = even the penny slots were painful). I do wish that they had more of the fun machines (Wizard of Oz and The Hangover). I waited almost all weekend to get a shot at the Hangover, it was totally worth it when I made $40 on a $2 bet right before I left, which made me +$20 on the weekend (I told you, times are tough). The cash conversion machines are everywhere, which is convenient. What isn't is the fact that Canada doesn't have dollar bills, so you're left with a lot of coin that you can't play in the slot machines. We paid for our drinks with the dollar coins, so it all worked out in the end. There is one machine on the second floor that converts Canadian to US. Spent some time at both bars/lounges. The drinks at both were okay...but the auto-measures meant that my drinks felt weak. Especially after spending time at campus bars where my usual vodka cranberries are more vodka, less cranberry. We ate lunch one day and breakfast the next at the Artist Cafe. It was good, nothing special though. We had dinner had Neros and I would have liked to climb into my bowl of Lobster Mac and Cheese. The crabcake was pure crab, no fillers which as everyone knows, is the best. All in all, it was a great weekend getaway and something that I imagine I would do again now that I have a passport, although next time I would like to see a show and eat outside of the Casino. read more

I came here for a comedy show. Parking is really through one road and is a nightmare, though valet was free. The venue was ok, but it felt like a college gymnasium turned auditorium. If I could give zero stars I would. We ate at this disgusting Market buffet right before the Culture Club last week. We arrived at 8:35PM and the buffet closed at 9PM. Stayed in the "Adults" Forum Tower - not sure that made a difference other than it seemed closer. Nice clean rooms, well maintained non-smoking building. VU bar had great view of Detroit skyline. Mixed drinks are measured (made for weak drinks). So beer/wine is a better bet. No alcohol is allowed in the hallways and elevator, so no - you cannot take it back to your room. On weekends and events they have a band in a different bar, but you can hear it in the VU bar. Self parking is a long walk to check-in, then you have a long walk back to Forum. Starbucks in the morning - yeah. Opted out of the pricey steak house. River walk / sculpture park right outside front door. read more

Took 2 tries to connect but the Wifi is adequate

I wish I could say my first time staying here was a great experience, but so far it has been a bit unpleasant. First, we had an issue with our keys (which happens, oh well) so we went through the process of getting new ones. Then when we finally were able to unlock our suite, I quickly realized it hadn't even been cleaned! It was disgusting and I'm grateful I didn't walk in on another guest who had the room previously. To try to make things better, the hotel gave us a $40 voucher to use toward food/room service which we were extremely grateful for. After a long evening of enjoying our friend's company, playing the slots and table games, and some cocktails we decided to order some room service and use our voucher. Talk about a huge inconvenience...we were told by the room service employee that they didn't except anything like that and that they had no idea what we were talking about. Finally after asking to talk to someone in charge and waiting on hold for some time, they allowed us to use it. To top everything off, we were kept up half the night due to a wedding party on the floor directly above us where the music was so loud our windows shook and then we got our check out receipt which was double the price we were given on our reservation price. Honestly, I had high hopes for staying here because we have always loved visiting in the past but I'm left feeling irate. I will never be staying again. read more

Horrendous experience! If you are looking for a pleasant experience look elsewhere! The service here is absolutely horrendous (security guards are the only exception, very nice gentlemen). First off, their hotel guest drop off sign has the arrow going the wrong way so after driving around this huge hotel/casino 3 times we parked illegally to ask a guard and he advised that yes, they are aware of the misprinted sign and apologised. Once we got to the right place, the valet personnel waived us in a spot like an airplane (overly enthusiastically with the arm signals that is) and asked if we were just dropping off - yes I said. I then went to empty the car and the girl freaked out "you can't park here!! This is the exit lane" I said, "you knew we were dropping off, why would you direct us here?" I then ignored her and dropped off my friend and luggage. After going to the self park and returning, I required 3 security guards to direct me to where I left my friend (not the hotels fault specifically, it's a large casino) and once I found her, there were no doormen or hotel carts to wheel all of our luggage (3 bags each) which we then had to drag awkwardly in full suits (it was a business trip) in 35 degree heat through the entire casino and hotel to the front desk. At the front desk we were told my friend's room had not been reserved but luckily there was one left. I booked 2 rooms together and had the confirmation #'s in hand, how could that be? I asked for a river view room and it 'was a Monday after all how busy could they be but she snidely responded "not at the price you are paying!" They had a 15% off summer sale when I booked, we paid $126 Cdn, how was that my "fault" and what's with the attitude? In the end, my friend got a river view room (albeit somewhat obstructed) and I got a view of the self park lot I drove by 4 times that day, fun fun. And speaking of parking, did you know valet parking is FREE? What the hell??? No one said anything, not even on my reservation. The room itself was beautiful but due to this experience we will NEVER EVER STAY HERE AGAIN and not only that, this was a business trip, we work for an insurance company with 5,000 Canadian employees and 30,000 worldwide and I have made sure everyone in our Toronto head office and our corporate travel agent knows about this horrendous experience so that we never support Caesars Windsor again!!! read more

A friend and I decided to go to Canada for a few hours after walking along the Riverwalk. I expected a decadent, sprawling oasis; I was met with a menagerie of elderly people at a huge selection of slot machines. There were also lots of tables, including several $5 blackjacks. We went to Como's and had the bartender select two "girly" drinks of her choosing, a pornstar and a white freezy. Both were delicious, and fairly priced ($5.75 Canadian). There was a sizable number of ATMs and currency exchange machines, which was very helpful. The cashiers were nice and the lines were not very long. The casino felt clean and did not smell, which I appreciated. I was annoyed to find out that wifi is only available to paying hotel guests, so I was unable to send iMessages and be in contact with those back in America. Came down for several days during break, had a great time, the table games are great and I was lucky to be up several hundred dollars each day. The dealers are the nicest and friendliest dealers I've ever played with. This was my first time visiting here and everything besides the hotel was fantastic. The food, show and show staff, casino staff, and restaurant staff were all amazing. The hotel itself though really let me down. I arrived about 4:30 and their check in starts at 4. My room wasn't ready. This confused me as I was after their check in time. I had to check my luggage and come back later to pick up my keys and nothing was offered to account for the delay. After coming back to the far lobby much later, my room was ready but now I had to tip the staff to get my luggage and lug it across the casino to my room because of their mistake. This set me up for a poor two night stay. I called the front desk seeing if they could even apologize for the delay and they offered no apology only that their check in time is not a guarantee. I asked why have a check in time if it isn't accurate they didn't have an answer. I went about my stay and requested my room be skipped for housekeeping on the phone and was told I would get $5 off any purchase charged to my room I then made a $11 purchase charged to my room and at check out they changed the language that it is off my next visit. Well since I had already had issues I wasn't exactly planning on returning so I asked for what I was told on the phone, $5 off my cafe purchase. It took them 15 minutes to apply the correct "code" and they said no one ever asks for it off current stay but it is part of the promotion they just don't know how to do it. Very poor hotel staff all around and they should really be brought up to speed with the rest of the staff at the casino because they really were awesome. read more

I booked a room for my fiance and I on a Monday night as a late Valentine's Day gift (he loves to gamble). The front desk staff was polite and got us checked in and out quickly. Our room was immaculate and we had a spectacular view of the Ren Cen. The bed was super comfy and we got a great night's sleep. And I LOVED the fact that, unlike Detroit's casinos, this one is smoke free! Unfortunately, most of our time was spent waiting to eat. The line for the buffet was over an hour wait, so we gave up and went to the Legends Sports bar to eat. I don't know if the place was understaffed or what, but from the time we got in line to get a table to when we actually got our food, we'd waited over an hour and a half. Our server was very friendly but we didn't see her much all evening - which, I don't believe was her fault as much as the fact that they truly seemed quite understaffed. There was a long line of patrons waiting for a table, and at least a half dozen tables were empty at any given time. It was very strange. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, wasn't anything spectacular... but I was so hungry at that point, anything tasted good! After that long wait for something to eat, I was keen to check out the spa while my fiance gambled... only to learn that the spa is closed on Mondays. Once we were back in our room and sound asleep, a piercing alarm went off at 2:30 am. The alarm went on for several minutes before a pre-recorded voice was piped into our room saying that the alarm had been triggered by something, that they were investigating it, and to not use the elevators... "Please stand by." After the announcement, the alarm continued to go off for another 5-10 minutes. It was beyond ridiculous. Finally, the alarm stopped, and we tried to go back to sleep. A few minutes after the alarm stopped, there was an even WORSE noise (I can't even describe what it was), followed by another pre-recorded voice... telling us that the cause of the alarm was resolved, and to resume normal activity. I have never stayed here. From a Casino point of view not sure how you review a casino. They have several slot machines and tables. A huge pit in the middle surrounded with blackjack and other games. I wish there were more $10 blackjack tables but those are almost always taken. It's fun to go ..Saturdays they have live bands in the main bar...the Vu bar upstairs is usually pretty dead...its the only Casino in Windsor.... I believe its better than Motorcity and maybe comparable to Greektown or MGM in Detroit but those have more food options which are of higher quality. I have been to them all. I won't compare it to Vegas or Atlantic city as it would not be fair to insult Vegas or Atlantic city... Fun place to go and loose money if you are into that sort of thing. If you are in Windsor... go check it out... it's better than the old Casino Windsor. Also....they bring in lots of cool acts and performers which is fun. That's why i gave it 4 instead of 3. A very fun place, I went there when I was 20 so I was of Legal age so I could gamble. But hotel speaking it was very nice. Our room was very clean and it was in a comfortable setting. The pool and Fitness center have great views of the Detroit River. Very good buffet i wouldn't call it Vegas quality but It wasn't far from it. This is some of the worst event management I have ever seen. As a regular paying customer of this casino, I feel completely disrespected by the way I have been treated in line and then (believe this) OUT OF LINE as I was exiting a comedian show this evening. The staff they have as "security" looks younger than half the customers they are questioning not only as they are entering the venue but also EXITING the event. I am a grown 26 year old woman and was completely disrespected and spoken down to by these employees questioning my age and forcing me into a line to verify my age, though I am clearly over 19. I will never attend an event here and they have lost a valued customer who spends thousands here per year. They need MAJOR management revision. read more

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! As some reviews have mentioned the rooms were a bit dated ( bathrooms specifically ) considering the price. I've stayed in nicer hotels all around the world for much cheaper. However, this is the nicest place to stay in Windsor, and I would not have complained if we did not receive complete attitude and disrespect from the miserable bartender at Legends. I wrote a letter to their customer service a week ago outlining our crap service. I have yet to receive a reply. We will not be staying at ANY of their properties when we travel. I was visiting from Vancouver this past weekend, there to see my boyfriend who is currently working on a project in Windsor. We stayed at your hotel from Thursday February 5th through to Monday February 9th. I will start by saying that our overall stay was enjoyable, but the service we received on Sunday evening through to Monday morning was a complete disappointment. On Sunday night we decided to take a break from gambling and grab a drink at Legends. We sat ourselves at the bar around 9:30pm and ordered two doubles. Initailly we were served by a nice gentleman with an accent. He was polite and the service was prompt. My boyfriend was wanting to order two shots, but asked the other bartender, whose name I believe was Dave, to clarify the policy regarding the amount of drinks someone can order. Dave clarified the policy for us and let us know that because we both had drinks we would not be able to order shots. No problem. We sat for a bit and continued to drink our drinks. My boyfriend, not realizing that I had not finished my drink as he was done his attempted to order two shots. I quickly let him know that I wasn't done, and started to drink my drink since the ice was now melted and I was ready for something else anyway. While finishing my drink the bartender began to very aggressively explain to my boyfriend why he couldnt have the shots. My boyfriend did not need clarification, he simply didnt realize I wasnt done. My boyfriend then asked the bartender whose name I believe was Dave if he could order the two shots since I was now done my drink. It was this that sent the situation on a downward spiral. Dave began saying things like "Let me explain this to you again" and his tone was completely unacceptable of someone in a customer service position. He then started saying things like " This is what's gonna happen you're gonna order 2 shots and then you're gonna want 2 more doubles" "People lose their jobs over this" and even proceeded to tell us a story about a customer who went bar to bar ordering multiple drinks causing someone to lose their job. My boyfriend made an attempt to lighten the mood and made a joke about wanting to order two shots and take me back upstairs to the room, not order two more doubles, to which the bartender informed us we would be watched on camera if we went to another bar to drink??!! How unprofessional. Seeing that my boyfriend was becoming visibly upset I tried to explain to the bartender that my boyfriend wasn't expecting him to go against the policy and it was basically a misunderstanding. He kept saying over and over that if we didnt understand he could get a supervisor to explain it to us. We never once challenged the policy or demanded him to serve us. We understand the policy, I've worked in nigthclubs in the past, I get it. Maybe he is used to defending his position and your policy, but he became immediately defensive and in all reality even if we need the policy clarified 15 times this is his job. We weren't challenging it! He is in customer service, he is there to serve the customer. We were not arguing or expecting to be over served, it was a complete misunderstanding that led to a heated discussion which resulted in the bartender saying he was getting us "out of here" and calling over a supervisor. So now we are stuck sitting there waiting for a supervisor to remove us? How ridiculous!! The supervisor came over and I explained that we would gladly leave Legends, and we did not need to be removed, but he should really speak to his employee about the tone he uses with customers. He was so rude, and so disrespectful for no reason at all. Which led to my boyfriend becoming upset and us being completely embarassed. This supervisor told us that they pride themselves on customer service ( LOOKS LIKE IT! ), and said he would speak to the employee. My boyfriend went back the following day and spoke to another supervisor who again gave us MORE excuses and made us feel that we deserved this treatment because we may have appeared intoxicated??!! So intoxicated that we were allowed to stay in the casino and relocate to another bar? What a double standard! I would like to thank Karen at Vu Bar for her exceptional service afterwards. She saved our otherwise awful evening! This is the woman that should be training the rest of your miserable unhappy staff! I have never seen so many grumpy people working in one place. read more

My review is for the Market Buffet located in Caesars Windsor. I gave it 3 stars, only because I couldn't give it 2 1/2 stars. I cannot confirm this, but I was told that the Buffet use to prep and make all of their food on-site, including their desserts. I believe this to be true. I remember when the Buffett first opened, the food was amazing; it didn't matter what day of the week you went, it was good. Even if you are not a dessert person, you'd save room (or not) for the Buffet's dessert bar. Unfortunately, that cannot be said today. I find during the week the Buffet to be sub-par; it tends to redeem itself on the weekend (Friday to Sunday), not to the quality it once had though. It seems to me that some, if not all of the food has been prepped off-site, especially the desserts. If this is the case, then whomever thought this was a good idea should be released from Caesars. It is not a good idea. I would (and believe people would) pay a bit more for good quality foods and desserts prepped and made on-site. The stars of the buffet: pasta bar, the jackpot chicken, salad bar, their breaded fish (smelt, haddock, pickerel, etc.), mashed potatoes (can be hit or miss), the Asian offering (again depending on who's prepping and/or cooking), Cream Anglais sauce, cobbler, bread pudding, and the fresh made crepes. The disappointments of the buffet: prim rib (can be good- many times too fatty, tough and no flavour), pierogies, some of the soups taste like packaged product, bread selection, some of the vegetables are very bland (not all). The above are just a few of the items that are in my opinion either hit, or miss. Caesars Windsor has a lot to offer. It is a great place to bring friends, or family for a nice evening out, or just to get away for a couple of hours in the afternoon. They should be the Premier Buffet destination in the City. They should offer better quality on-site prepped and cooked foods for their patrons; even if they need to raise the price, I believe people will still opt to come to Caesars. To sum up the only thing I can really say when it comes to how enjoyable the Buffet is that it is a 'crap-shoot" (no pun intended). It comes down to the talented chef/cook who can make wonders out of what he/she has to work with. I would suggest saving your money and wait until the weekend to try the Buffet. read more

I visited last month for a show and stayed a few days in the Forum Tower. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! All the staff I met were warm and polite, the room was gorgeous. I enjoyed the casino, as many do. The bed in my room was so comfy, almost like sleeping on air. One issue I had was of the Alarm testing everyday. It was very loud, it almost knocked me over when I heard it, but i'm glad it worked. 10/10 would return. 11/10 would recommend friends and/or family. read more

Unfortunately, I missed the first 45 minutes waiting in line to get 2 beers, for my wife and I; only to be told after finally reaching the bar that I can only get one beer!!! After sharing it with her, I went back to get another, waited in line for about 15 minutes and was now told that the bar was closed - even though the show was in full swing!!! Unbelievable!!! At 45 years old, I don't need to be treated like a baby! On a final note, while waiting the first 45 minutes, an ad showing a upcoming Roger Daltry perforrming Tommy in September got me excited as a diehard The Who fan, but will NEVER see a concert in that venue again...will go see him in America. I specifically drove all the way from Oklahoma to be at this motel for the fireworks between Detroit and Windsor a week or so before July 4, 2013. What a waste of my time. What a change a few years has made. When I lived in Ohio, I used to love coming here. And it was way more crowded and exciting than this time. What has happened??? Is the economy that bad or is it because the service and general demeanor of most of the persons I met here at this casino suck? I have never been in any casino and treated so poorly by everyone: the pit boss; the Asian younger lady in the credit department who walks around like she has a pencil stuck up you know where; the wait persons at the buffet who entirely ignored me; no one wanted to hear my concerns in person. They told me to go to the website and make a comment. Tried this. There is no way to do so!!!! Their breakfast buffet charges extra for OJ. What's up with that? I will never spend any money here again. Soooooo disappointing because i really loved this place in the past. They seem to have only about 6% of the market as I was told. USA persons...do not bother getting a passport and going here. A waste of time and effort. Go to Cleveland or even Columbus if you live in Ohio. Much better. Very disappointed. No one cared. read more
