Really nice rooms, view of the river is excellent. casino is fun'ish, but a little dead. The rooms are spacious enough, clean, stylish. I quite liked it. The washroom is super, with a great shower and separate tub. Simple but open and stylish. Comfy beds. No complaints at all. Best to ask for a view of the river though, which was pretty stellar. Casino was fun (cuz I was winning! First time playing roulette and got my number on the first try! what a handsome payout that was :D ). But the crowd is really subdued. Bad smooth jazz band playing above the bar to a few dozen seniors kind of just staring at the act. The bartenders were pretty friendly and cool, though they don't free pour. I love this place. I love crossing the border, changing my money over (getting some of that colorful--and in some cases plastic-- Canadian money), and playing here. The dealers are nice. The pit bosses have never smiled in their lives. It's very stereotypical of a casino in the Caesar's chain. I haven't stayed here (yet), but I will! If I had one complaint, it would be that by going here, I started getting TONS of offers for this casino (rather than the one that's like... 10 miles from my house, which is 5 hours away from Windsor). Living in Detroit it is easier just to go to one of the three casinos here. Don't have the deal with the border, etc. stayed the night here this past weekend. I don't mind this casino it's clean, spacious, and offers many amenities. My biggest complaint (which there's nothing to do about it) are the 19 and 20 year old kids who hang out here. I'm sure most of them are from the States but they're annoying and just get in the way. They easily cause this place to drop one star. The other dropped star is for the sports book. It only offers day of games. Has no ability to bet on futures. If you're going to have a sports book, do it right! Would love to bet on national championships, Stanley Cups, etc! They do have the newest slot machines. Very unique machines and ones you don't typically see at other casinos. Another (albeit) minor complaint is there is only beverage station. When you expect Ontario and not Nevada, you won't enjoy yourself. But it is a fun place. First plus is the entire casino is No Smoking. There are a couple of small outdoor smoker's patio. The casino is laid out poorly. Don't bring in your luggage from the Self Park garage until after you check-in and know in which tower you'll be staying. We lugged our luggage in from the garage, down an elevator to the main level and then up an escalator up to the second level, through the casino to the front desk (you'd think the front desk would be up front). We checked in to only find out that are tower was back where we came in from the garage, so back through the casino with the luggage. Also because this is Ontario and not Nevada, you will pay for alcoholic beverages while gambling. Paid $6.75 for a Molson. The gambling was okay and there was ups and downs. The video poker didn't have very good payouts. Jacks or Better was only paying 7/5 instead of the full-pay of 9/6. There were a couple of $10 blackjack tables, but most were $15 and $25. And the craps table was pretty bizarre. The buffet was pretty crummy (most of Caesar Entertainment's buffets outside of Vegas or Atlantic City are horrible). The hotel room was nice. The bathroom has separate shower and bath tub. The desk was large, although they do charge for internet (which was only wired on our floor). The hotel did have nice views across the river of Detroit, however our room had a view of some battered homes (one of which we watched being torn down). Nice casino and hotel, but wouldn't make a special trip from the East Coast when Atlantic City is only 3 hours from me and this was over 8 hours. read more

This Caesars property is absolutely astounding. The staff are extremely friendly and Total Rewards is a great program to join if you're looking for a great amount of comps with little playing time. There are 2 floors of slot machines and a huge selection of tables for poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, etc. The restaurants are all phenomenal as well. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a change of pace from the casinos in downtown Detroit. It's definitely worth the trip! read more

I'm really not much of a gambler but if I were, I'd have found paradise. We used the conference rooms and the large banquet room in the Hotel portion of the Caesars, which were very spacious and well-adorned, but the most memorable parts of my visit were seeing the artwork and walking through the casino. From the hotel side to the club (where I met some friends on our last night in town), I swear it's about a 5-10 minute walk. The casino is extremely expansive and actually quite maze-like at times. There were games for pretty much anyone, and I swear, if you wanted to gamble any certain way, you'd be able to find your table. I didn't have a chance to see any of the rooms, but the statues that you can find in the lobby of the hotel, as well as throughout the hallways, are absolutely magnificent. They tower over you and are stood atop platforms with splendid golden trim, which make you feel as though you're inside of a museum as well as a place of business. We were fortunate enough to have had the head of HR at Caesars come and give a talk, and she showed us the emphasis on philanthropy, camaraderie, and familial-like relationships that the staff at Caesars have. It was extremely touching, made me feel more at-home whilst I was there, and genuinely made me enjoy the visit more than I did before knowing that. Additionally, I want to touch on the bathroom that was by the conference rooms. It was to be expected that a hotel and casino whose theme is lavish/regal would have nice facilities, but this bathroom was certainly something else. Extremely expansive, updated, and beautiful. The black and gold colour scheme allowed for less dirt to be noticed and added a certain feel of high-society whilst walking through. Anyways, that's enough on the washroom! The club was fine but clubs, in general, aren't exactly my cup of tea. It was neat, however, to meet so many people who come over to Windsor from Detroit to enjoy the nightlife. The youngest person that I met had just turned 21 (it was her birthday!), so it led me to wonder if they somehow still enforce the American legal age when inside. This is merely speculation as I have no firsthand knowledge of whether this was just a coincidence or not. The club is also segmented into two main rooms, with the immediate one being larger, and then another off to the right of the entrance. I believe that the one on the right gets blocked off for VIP events or as an added barrier for exclusivity but while I was there, it was open and people wandered freely throughout both rooms. There is also a bar in both of the rooms and the one in the main room has quite a splendid waterfall running behind it. It almost made up for the fact that club drinks are so expensive! Almost. ;) We were staying at the Riverfront Holiday Inn and the walk between the two locations was also extremely short, which I was very grateful for when a blizzard unexpectedly came down upon us. But, with that experience in mind, I'm glad to be back in BC! read more

We really enjoyed our stay here overall. We stayed here one night to see a performer. It was so nice to walk around a smoke free (mostly) casino. I think some people were still sneaking cigarettes. Even though this casino is supposed to be entirely smoke free, I could still occasionally get a whiff of smoke walking around the main casino. The rooms were awesome. Up to date, just about everything you need, a refrigerator, safe, wifi, comfy bed, quiet, separate bath tub and shower, nice view of the Detroit skyline. We also enjoyed the Mediterranean restaurant Taza for dinner, the greek salad was very good, and I had a chicken stir fry. Even though we only stayed one night, I wish I had the opportunity to stay another night. Next time I would like to try the spa for a massage or other service. If I had to choose between this hotel or MGM Detroit, I would pick this hotel. read more

Recently stayed at Caesar's over the labor day holiday. We had a very nice room - no complaints there. Everything was up to par. However, the service and food were lacking. If you want to eat in the hotel, your choices are basically pizza and hot dogs, or $50+ per person fine dining - there really is no middle ground. We ate at the sports bar one night and were very underwhelmed with the super greasy food. Also tried the pizza place thinking it would actually be a sit-down place, but it was really more like a cafeteria. They did have some live music at different times which was nice. Having a Starbucks in the building was nice too - the people who working in that Starbucks were the friendliest people of everyone we met. Recommendations: 1) Talk with the concierge for recommendations in the area. They have maps and can point out some great areas. 2) If you want a really good food recommendation, ask the workers in Starbucks! They are the most honest and live in the area with good recommendations. 3) Bring your own booze - otherwise you're going to spend A LOT at the hotel and gambling area, with drinks ranging in the $6-7 range per drink. We made drinks in our room and brought them down to the casino with no problem. 4) Eat outside of the hotel. The food is WAY better. read more

I wandered over to Windsor, to see what Detroit looked like from the other side, and I meandered into Caesar's, to see what that was like. I was lured by promises of a free lunch and some other stuff if I waited in line for 20 minutes to sign-up for a total rewards card or whatever, so I did. However, once I got to the desk, I was told I had a card. Now, this seemed unlikely, since casinos aren't really my bag, but the woman had my DL number and everything. Hmmmm. Finally, it came up that this "account" was from 2005, which is also probably the last time I've been in a casino. It kinda creeped me out that they had kept my DL and other personal info on file for so long with zero activity, but I was still in it for the buffet, so I murmured complaint, but not loudly. Prime rib was calling. But THEN, I was told I wasn't eligible for any of the new customer incentives, because, after all, I had this account already. I have to say, if NINE YEARS OF COMPLETE INACTIVITY doesn't re-establish you as a new customer, I'm not sure what would. Bankruptcy records are purged sooner than that. AND, it is still hella creepy that they've been keeping my records all this time, without any activity to warrant it. I was pissed and wanted to walk, but my friend insisted we stay and at least take advantage of a discounted exchange rate. I like the idea of a non-smoking casino. Unfortunately, the other amenities are very un-Caesar like. Came here for the Stevie Wonder Show. Show wa at 8 and we walked in at 530. Could not get a bite anywhere. Everything was jammed with a couple hour wait. Ended up having a stale sandwich and bag of chips outside of the auditorium. No internet service in the casino. This is only for coliseum area for the Moody Blues concert. Wow I've never been treated as a adult at a concert until coming here. The ushers escort you to your seats weather you like it or not and during the show if you get up they come down the aisle and to light your way so you don't trip or fall. The only complaint is after the show they herd you up the elevators weather you have valet or not. If you have valet you have to go up the elevator walk across a lobby then back down the elevator on the other side of the street from the valet go back outside crossing 6 lanes of valet traffic to cross the street and back in 20 feet from where they sent you up the elevator in the first place read more

I typically find that most non-Vegas casinos are underwhelming, but I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely consider returning and recommending to others. Staff was friendly and helpful from the valet to the front desk, the rewards counter, to the housekeeping, the dealers to the wait staff. Plenty of dining options in and just outside of the casino. If you want to earn rewards with Caesars make sure you get a Total Rewards card and present it anytime you make a purchase or gamble. Don't forget to do this even if you are ordering drinks while gambling because you'll earn points for those too. I stayed in the Forum tower and found it to be comfortable and clean. What a horrible waste of time & money! My daughter purchased Diana Krall tickets for Mother's Day. I was looking forward to it! An evening for the two of us. The plan was for dinner, Diana Krall, and casino play! We left Detroit at 6PM for a 9PM concert. Arrived Windsor 6:30. Onward to Caesar's to grab a bite! Walked into Caesars after awaiting valet. It took 45 min just to turn a corner. When I mentioned it to hotel customer service they smirked it off. I entered Taz, the hostess said no problem on in & out prior to show. Asked waitress what comes up fast, salads. Ordered 2, 27min later, 3 min to showtime. Manager waived when I said just return them. After show, gambled for about 45-60 min to clear valet. I walked down to see about 75-100 people, 4 chairs, lots of older people standing, sitting on the floor. I went upstairs to inform them valet cannot handled the crowd waiting. At your CS 4 people were standing around chatting. Yes, they blew me off. Ask for hotel GM. I returned downstairs. Next, arrived someone in charge of transportation.... Couple of suggestions I made.... 1. Staff accordingly 2.Time stamp in should be able to program time to get car based on supply & demand 3.Pull chairs from conference room to accommodate seating. 4.Offer $5-$10 comp to gamble while waiting, you should know it would benefit the casino. 5. A little good will and kindness go a long way! Also, do you have any idea how bad a concert can be when the old folks around a paying client getting talking, up & down for potty breaks? The hotel management disavows any responsibility for security. On Friday night October 21 2022 two security guards denied my adult daughter and her friend access to their hotel room through the hotel entrance in the casino and insisted that they walk around the outside of the hotel alone instead. The rationale they provided to my wife for their ridiculously dangerous behavior is that my daughter's friend was drunk and couldn't recite her room number. My daughter who was sober explained that she was escorting her friend to our room. We had 3 rooms rented that night and the security guards asked for their room number and my daughter provided the room number of the room she was staying in and for which she and her friend had room keys for. In spite of that, the security guards stated that the young ladies weren't registered in that room and told the girls they had to walk around the outside to get into the hotel lobby. My wife contacted the front desk to try to straighten this out and the front desk told her that the security company is a separate company and we would have to take it up with them. It is absolutely ridiculous to me that any hotel would not attempt to intervene when a paid guest is being denied access to their room by security guards who were behaving irresponsibly by sending young ladies outside in the middle of the night. read more

I've stayed in two different types of room at this hotel on 2 separate occasions. the level of service I have experienced here is second to none. From the time you arrive, the valet parks your vehicle for free, the bellhop takes care of your bags. If your room isn't ready, they will hold your bags and when your room is ready, you will find the bags neatly deposited in your room. The parlor suites are very spacious and fancy, however the couch is not the most comfortable in the world. The pool area is wonderfully nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great stay, as long as they don't mind the coin. If you are an American traveling here, you get a friendly greeting upon entering Windsor. On the return, you get an angry and suspicious "what were you doing in Canada?" experience from the U.S. Border guys. Nothing like a friendly welcome home... read more

They gave me the wrong room - a dirty one! I checked in and ran up to my room, about to meet someone in Windsor. My key didn't work. They fixed it at the desk, and I ran into the room and had a quick shower. I then noticed that there were towels everywhere, no toilet paper, garbage full, bed unkempt. I called down upset that my room had not been serviced, but I was going out so could it please be done when I get back? They told me I was never supposed to be in that room in the first place! I had to go to the front desk with my stuff AGAIN and switch keys, move my stuff to a new room and rush out to meet my appointment! When I checked out and mentioned it they simply said, sorry you didn't have a good experience. I just said 'me too'. This place was my first casino experience back when it was Casino Windsor. I went back over the weekend for a overnight trip. The casino floor is huge with tons of slots, table games, bars and restaurants. They have a sports books, but you have bet parlays, which is fine by me. I go here for the poker room, plenty of tables, decent action. Their rooms have been updated and they are a decent size. I would recommend this casino to anyone, but you must have a passport! The only reason for 4 stars is the buffet has been terrible the past few times I have gone. $30CAD for a prime buffet should be good but it wasn't! Caesars is housed in the lovely little Canadian town of Windsor, just across and South of the lake. I was almost taken aback with this casinos cleanliness and demeanor. I could have eaten off the ground in the parking garage and my BF and I were the seediest lookin' people in the joint.... well, besides the one gypsy on the panda game next to me that put a hex on my machine- true story but I'l save it as I was already up eight hundo for the 2 casinos we went to in 24 hours. The cashiers were friendly, as were the rest of the staff. The exchange rate from US to Canada was exact so that made it easy to keep track of my winnings and they charge you nothing to change your money over each way. This casino was far less crowded than it's sister casino Horseshoe in Hammond, Indiana... maybe since it's a smoke free establishment and all the chain smokers venture over to MGM D-Town for their cigs. The tables here are pretty easy to come by and the BF and I were able to get 2 seats for Pai Gow poker pretty much immediately. The dealers are friendly, as were the other gamblers and they pretty much let everyone help everyone... and I think i learned how to say "sh*tty hand" in Chinese from new friend we made at the table... and yeah, we got a whole lotta sh*tty hands at this table. Ah well, everyone knows the perfect cure for bit of a losing streak is a trip to the buffet! i was a really disappointed that this property of Harrah's wasn't as generous as others. At the Hammond location, you can't walk 2 steps without someone offering you a free buffet if you play for 30 minutes- not this one. The BF and I let 12 hours slip away before we realized we should probbo eat something to sustain our gambling energy. I could tell from the first walk through that the buffet was going to blow. Canada casinos just don't know how us Americanos like to binge, I guess. The food was really awful. I know it's a casino buffet but let's be honest, casino's are the one place on Earth that are known for they're out of this world buffets... Not Caesars Windsor. I'd say the best part of the meal was the baby sushi rolls. And if you're familiar at all with casino buffets, you know that the sushi rolls are always the worst. The ones we had were crappy, but they were still better than anything else they had to offer. No crab legs on a Saturaday night- what? Oh, and the stir fry guy was yelling at people left and right. We decided to head over the border to enjoy some cocktails at their bar with panaromic views of the Detroit skyline and the Windsor riverfront. They even have a patio. So I give the view big stars, but the drinks 1 star. Where was the alcohol? Apparently the bartenders can't pour the alcohol into your glass on their own. Instead they have measured alcohol automatically poured in your glass. I don't know what to say. That is beyond LAME! Don't go here for the drinks! Go for the views. read more

This review is for the casino and the buffet only; I've never stayed in the hotels. The casino is nice and clean. Machines seem to be kept up and there are plenty of servers and tables open (we went on a Saturday afternoon). Lots of currency exchange machines around and it's fairly easy to navigate. Not as cramped as the Detroit casinos, in my opinion. I'm used to seeing discarded cups & garbage around the slot machines in Detroit casinos, and I didn't see anything of the sort here. The buffet, however, is a one-star experience. Now, I'm a chubby chick and my husband and I are regular buffet-goers, so I'm saying all this from experience. This was the WORST buffet I've ever been to. Even podunk casinos in the boonies and small-town Golden Corrals/Old Country Buffets have been better. The food was just old, flavorless and lame. And in two instances the food was TOTALLY inedible; the babaganouj on the salad bar (it tasted like it literally had a bottle of liquid smoke dumped in it - we had to spit it out) and there was a quinoa salad on the salad bar that had WAY too much cumin seasoning in it. Normally in a lame buffet setting you can find *something* to cling to, but every section of this buffet was terrible. The pasta section had a guy who'd make custom pastas for you - but mine had 4x more sauce than necessary and was just gross. The pizzas were on a pre-made crust and had a small selection. The beef strip loin was fatty and tough. The Chinese food section used cheap products and frozen pre-breaded chicken (I saw the employee bring a huge bag of it back). The fried chicken was dry inside and soggy outside. Even the mashed potatoes were lame - they had CABBAGE mixed into them (why?). We attempted to get redemption at the dessert section but, despite a large selection, everything just wasn't that good. For $20 each for lunch it was pretty disappointing and we won't be back. read more

We've been to many casinos, and this one is the worst for families. The only areas that allow children are the lobby, parking lot, Augustus Cafe and Augustus Tower. Kids aren't even allowed in the swimming pool, which is located in the Forum Tower anyway. Security was rude to us about our 4 year old riding the escalators in the lobby area: "It has to stop NOW". My husband was so disgusted, he cut our vacation short even though he had planned to spend more time in the high limit table games room, which he says is never that busy. I can see why this place is struggling during the recession. A four diamond casino that treat guests the way we were treated will not do well. I won't return anytime soon. read more

Servers are attentive and fast. Lots of dessert options at the end. Those complaining really can't appreciate the good quality and the affordable price this buffet offers. I am neither a gambler nor a fan of walking amidst a darkened asphyxiating and noisy atmosphere of slots and gambling tables. We were at the Caesars for another reason and I got to walk within and around the casino several times. Firstly, getting there and finding the parking is difficult. The streets are configured in a roundabout way and do not have any road signs or guides as to who should drive where. The parking lot is next door and huge, but we did not know whether that is where we should park or it is a competing parking space next door or what. The parking ended up being free. The casino is big and on two levels and populated with older people with mobility issues. Don't ask me why. I do not know. The food is terrible. The casino has to find a better solution that the crappy Legends Sports Bar with its greasy food and Johnny Rockets, which is low-grade 'hamburgers.' Skip those and walk westwards 5 minutes for city options. The bad food is a disappointment because the casino, hotel, dining area, etc. are spacious and well designed. The Roman-esque statues clash with all the low-end options. The statues, fountains and high ceilings are nicely done and designed. The hotel room was clean, spacious and everything worked. The Forum Tower is across from the casino and does not have its own reception, which means guests staying there will have to go back and forth through the casino, but from my understanding it is kid-free so not noisy and also since this is Canada the casino is no-smoking so one does not have to walk through the suicidal masses. The casino and hotel are by te river so one gets an above average view of the river and Detroit as well. The staff are friendly and even the security guards, which the world over are uneducated gorillas with an inferiority complex after failing cop school, were friendly and polite. No one at this casino had an attitude. The waitress, reception staff, bell hop and security were all friendly and accommodating. Kudos to their HR hiring and policies. We even wanted to leave early and they agreed and cancelled one night without attitude. If only they can get some good food or other fun options in there. read more

I've visited Caesars Windsor multiple times, and I have an amazing time when ever I come. My review will be based on the casino and Market buffet of Caesars Windsor. Casino: The whole atmosphere when you walk in is one of a kind. The large ceilings and warm lightning really make the environment relaxing. I'm more of a blackjack and roulette player, but tend to put in a 20 in my preferred blazing 7 penny machine on the 2nd level, or when I have free slot play. The machines are usually clean, and there is always someone walking around picking up empty cups and garbage. The free pop and coffee doesn't have a lot of variety, but I cannot complain much if its free. I wish they did have bigger cups however. I've seen groups of tourists come with large 24oz cups and fill them up, but I have never attempted it. The tables have good min/max limits for all types of players. I usually play the chipless blackjack at $10 a hand, and I usually do well. The games are quick, and you don't have to worry about handling chips or remembering to use hand signals to make calls. The 2 chipless blackjack tables have $5/min and $500/max, and are normally not busy from 11am-7pm weekdays. The dealers know what they are doing and make very little mistakes. The roulette tables I find vary throughout the day from 11am-7pm. Sometimes 1 table will be open and it will be $5 outside bets and it will be packed, or you'll find 2 tables with $10 outside bets, and they'll be empty. So if you want to play with smaller amounts of money, I'd say try the speed roulette which is near by. It's $2 min outside and you play on your own screen with a real dealer and wheel. I find I do OK on the speed roulette, but you won't win as much if you played on higher limit tables. I used the drink ordering feature on the slot machines once to try it out. I ordered just a simple coke, and it took about 10 minutes for the lady to bring it to me. Kind of long considering it was just pop. I was expecting a large tall glass for my drink, but it was the standard plastic cups you can get yourself at the self-serve drink area. Next time I will order my drink the moment I sit down, or just serve myself. This way you'll get your drink before you run out of money. While at the tables, the ladies usually walk by every 10-15 minutes taking drink orders, so be prepared to flag them down if you need a drink. Pop and water are free, but you have to pay for alcohol. (Not sure of the prices). Overall the casino is great with a decent selection of table games and slots for even the first time gambler to find something they like. Staff are friendly and know their stuff, tables and slots are cleaned regularly and the setting is really relaxing. The layout is ok. Tables are in the centre of main floor, but seem a bit packed to me. Various denomination of slot machines are grouped together and placed throughout the two floors, giving a good mix or penny machines up to nickels and even dollar machines close by each other. Market Buffet: The buffet under the casino is large. Lots of seating areas and tables aren't crammed beside each other. They have 3 lines for the various reward tier levels, so if it's busy, I hope you have a friend with Diamond and up tier level. The food selection is amazing. From fresh salad, to pizza, to Asian, to every type of meat you can think of and a nice selection of bread and soup, plus much more. I recommend you take a walk through the buffet before you pick your food to get an eye for what is offered. The food items change very so often to mix it up. The servers are quick and polite. Depending on how busy it is, it might take a while to get your plate removed or your drink refilled, so be patient. The desert selection is truly the gem of the buffet. Pies, cakes, ice cream... You name it, they have it. The crepes are made fresh to order, and you can request anything on it. I never tried it, but I hear it's great. Overall, the buffet is a stop you have to make when you come to the Caesars Windsor. You're looking at about $20 a person before tips. Friday and Saturday is Prime Rib Dinner, so expect to pay more even if you don't eat prime rib. Being from Toronto with multiple casinos just outside of the GTA, I find Caesars Windsor to be the best. I'll continue to come back, and recommend it to anyone! This is by far the nicest casino in the Metro Detroit area. It is worth the trip across the border to experience a better gaming atmosphere. The hotel rooms are clean and the staff is much more friendly than what you find in the three Detroit casinos. read more

The casino itself is pretty nice, albeit on the small side, relative to most of the Detroit casinos. You'll notice a huge difference in the staff, and how friendly they are here, which is reason enough to cross the river. The hotel, on the other hand... I booked a "Luxury King" room in the Forum Tower. Right off the bat, if you aren't getting valet parking, you have to go to the second floor and traverse the entire casino to register, then go all the way back to get to your room. Once there, I took the obligatory look of the Detroit skyline. Nice. Pretty. Probably worth the few bucks extra. The rest of the room, though, is pretty much what I've come to expect from any run of the mill basic Courtyard room that would run under $90 US. For $280 CDN, I really expected more than the really old TV with limited channels, empty mini-fridge that wasn't plugged in, coffee maker of questionable sanitation, and overall very basic accommodations. Unless your plan is to gamble the entire time you're there and want minimal walking, there are equally nice hotels nearby that cost a fraction of the weekend rate here. read more
