Unfortunately it's horrible. Each story has security, checking purses and bags. This makes me wonder where you are. Once you enter you quickly realize this isn't Vegas. It can best be described as a poor opinion. There are a lot of colorful slots. It's hard to understand the beating/ winning numbers. The table games price/ bid was $15- $25 minimum. Most was $25 on tables. They occasionally are calling out players names. This is for them to get a prize. The food is limited and $$$$. You can smoke a cigars however, bring your own. The price is $30 to $60 (should cost $10-25). Their no entertainment in / around the casino. I never saw anyone win anything. The casino is a bust. The rooms are way overpriced. The price is Vegas on a holiday. There was one good thing. The parking garage. It was large and easy excess. I recommend not wasting your time/money. read more

Casino experience. Had fun playing black jack, the dealer, Michael was great and added to the fun. My husband, friend and I were lucky enough to be in a table together with other fun people. I normally play slots but the most fun I had was at this table for several hours and won a few bucks The slots are very tight. I won won a few games but put it back in. The drink prices are ridiculous but the bartenders were friendly and most of the time waited in you within a reasonable time frame. I'd go back again because Its only 1.5 hours from home. read more

We went to see a concert which the concert was great but Caesars definitely takes advantage of their customers. For one night due to the show the price of the hotel room was $1000. You would hope the room would be amazing but it wasn't. The bed was uncomfortable, there was hair on the bathroom floor and no microwave in the room so if you buy food to eat later there is no place to reheat which forces you to spend more money. I will never stay there again. read more

The smell of cigarette smoke permeates the entire facility. I thought my room was smoke free but laying in bed tonight and all I smell is smoke wafting through the floor! Will not stay here again ever. Overpriced and not pleasant at all. What a waste of a beautiful venue just to let smokers rule the entire place. I feel sorry for the employees who have to deal with this daily. read more

I have received several invites to come to Caesars Virginia. Decided to go on new year's eve. I needed to make a reservation for the VIP event and the front desk had no idea and asked me if I was sure that it was Caesars. She finally found it but could not get a host on the phone so after holding she asks me to try back later (vs. having someone call me back). I cancelled my room reservation because if they are this unorganized, I don't want to be bothered. Caesars vet your team and keep them updated. This poor woman was clueless! read more

Overall great experience! Only negative was the bartender named Matt. Extremely rude.

There is a lot to say about this place but as it's super new I am giving three stars to be generous. To start off, the room was beautiful and well cleaned when we arrived. Later on house keeping never came our entire stay even after calling the front desk and them telling us that they would come. Most of the restaurants remained closed our entire trip making it difficult to eat. We were told the workers were on strike and that was the reasoning for many places being closed.... The table dealers were clearly very new as it took them a long time to add cards and pay us out. They attempted to make many wrong calls and definitely need more experience. Then to top it off, the day we were leaving we made it 10 minutes down the road and heard a strange phone ringing in our car. This was the valet girls phone that she had left in our car so yes we had to turn around and return it, being the nice people that we are. So overall Caesars VA you have potential and I am hoping this is all due to the establishment being so new. read more

We have been going to the temporary facility since it opened and were really excited about visiting the new permanent one. I can't say we were very happy upon our first two visits, and it may be a while before we return. The positive aspects are few, unfortunately. One major problem is the fact that the whole place allows smoking (I can't speak for the hotel side of things-just the casino), with not even a room dedicated to those of us who value our health and don't like having to breathe in someone's toxic fumes while we eat or play. Harrah's in Cherokee is still smoke free after making that shift during Covid, and I don't think it impacted them negatively at all. (At least they were when we visited last year.) we went to several casinos in Ohio and WV this fall and they were smoke free-so Caesars is going to have to stop kowtowing to smokers and realize there are plenty of people who don't like it. (Smokers have to go outside to indulge their habit all the time-it won't kill them to do so at this casino). Getting rid of the smoking would make the aesthetics of the place ten times better because it would instantly be cleaner, and it would smell so much fresher. I've read the other reviews and I agree with them that the place wasn't ready to open. The line at the bar in the center of the casino was ridiculously long and it stayed that way the entire time we were there. The slot machines were dirty and there were full ashtrays everywhere. The floors were dirty, and the machines were arranged too close together, with no room to walk. I didn't eat at the food court and probably never will because I despise eating where people are smoking. My biggest complaint regards the slots that are available. Not everyone who likes to gamble a little bit can spend $6 or more on one spin, especially when the slot machines don't seem to ever pay off, as is the case here. Why not have more machines with a lower max bid, so those of us who aren't billionaires can enjoy the casino? And where are the video poker machines like Shamrock 7 or just regular poker? I like to play video poker, but in order to do so I would have had to stand in the long line at the bar and sit there to play one of the maybe 10 machines in the whole place. The new slot machines are not nearly as much fun to play as the old favorites like The frog Prince, Lucky Larry (the Lobsterman), or others (like the one with the oil tycoon) that gave decent bonus play. Now most of the machines are the same but with different graphics. This casino is conveniently close for us, but I'd rather drive further to play the games that I like in a smoke-free environment. Step it up, Caesar's, or you may soon find that you have a lovely empty building in Danville. read more

Casino is nice and still clean, bartenders and dealers are all new so you have to watch them count! Also, restaurants are terrible! Do not order any food from any restaurant unless Gordon Ramsay is open or the convenient store is open. Haven't tried Gordon Ramsay but I'm sure it's bad too judging by the lack of experienced cooks. I understand it's just a job but at least try to put some thought into what the people are requesting. Overpriced microwave food that had me waiting almost an hour at three stacks or whatever for chicken and waffles. SMH read more

The Ceasers Virginia casino was a great addition to the Danville area and Virginia. However, Ceasers coddles the smoking community. Danville has a 29% smoking rate while the majority of casino goers are NON-SMOKERS. We were there today and disgusted by the stench of cigarette smoke as the ventilation system is inadequate to clear it out. There is NO non-smoking area at Ceasers Virginia. Not that non-smoking areas work anyway since most I've been in are filled with smoke. A former smoker myself, I was up to nearly 3 packs a day when I quit back in 1991. We didn't stay long because it STUNK. We would love to enjoy Ceasers but the smoking is a deal breaker. Smoking in public places is prohibited in MOST places in Virginia. But because of some kind of exception (corruption) smoking is permitted in casinos. Why do they coddle a small percentage of the population that smoke over the vast majority of casino goers that DON'T? Nevermind the clean air act or anything like that. We came out smelling like cigarette. Our hair, clothes etc and it stays in your nostrils and lungs. When states started banning smoking in public they (restaurants and bars) actually saw an INCREASE in business. Smokers won't stop going to casinos if they ban smoking. But non-smokers WILL stop going to places where their health is jeopardized. And casinos are not a necessary form of entertainment. Employees are FORCED to work in a smoking environment. I just don't get it! Smoking does NOT improve their bottom line so why keep it? read more

I went to the bar by the food court- other bar was closed. I asked for a dirty martini with extra olives. He said the only way I can get extra olives is if I order a double. He charged $20 for a tiny amount (included olive juice! ). It was room temp and he only gave me 2 olives! What a ripoff! read more

Caesars Virginia - A Caesars Rewards Destination - Small cup (before I drank a sip) - Hotels Near Me - Danville, Virginia

The rooms are beautiful, casino is good until it isn't. My husband and I were playing slots and went to cash out and the machine went right into call attendant/ service me mode. All the slot machines went down when other patrons cashed out their machine. It was a disaster as you had to sit ' hostage' at your machine or risk not getting your payout. We sat for 2 hours waiting and getting frustrated with the process. We finally got a hand pay. The restaurants are nice- Gordon Ramseys was excellent and they went out of their way to make it all a prefect experience. The food joint next to the sportsbook was trashed by patrons that have no manners.- not the casinos fault. The wait staff was overwhelmed but handled it well. Dan Dan was phenomenal- VERY tasty food and kind staff. I ordered a drink from a machine and it took 20 min to arrive which was fine- she didn't know where my machine was located. They are working out the kinks and need to hire more people but it was all good. The valet was a HOT MESS because they were understaffed. Patience is key and a little understanding goes along way. If you go there right now with expectation for it to be perfect out of the gate, wait and give it time for the dust to settle and then go. I'm sure after a month it will be on point. I'm not giving up on the place and you shouldn't either. Machines were loose and tight so average/mixwinnings. Smoking does not bother me and it wasn't overwhelming even while we eating. The machines have a bunch of denominations but 25 cent machines are hard to find- we found 3 in the high roller area. read more

I cannot believe they spent over 500 million dollars on this beautiful casino and are allowing people to smoke anywhere in the casino!!! I will not be back until they create a sealed off smoking area for the smokers!! I feel terrible for the casino workers that have to tolerate smoking!!! What the hell are they thinking?? By the way Dan Dan noodle bar in the casino is very good!!! read more

First visit ... pretty cool! Only 4/5 stars due to what this place will be once the actual casino, restaurant(s), hotel, etc. are built up. No more coins or dollars when betting or slotting, (like decades ago when last in a Casino); they'll register a Caesar's card for you, which is used at all the slots. Honestly ... I had to drop this down to 3/5 stars due to a filthy habit observed at each of the slot machines: smoking. While a Libertarian / less government rules the better, I hate cigarette smoke, (wrong leaf!), and each machine has an ashtray. read more

Awesome casino. Food is great at all the restaurants. Starbucks is world class. Table games are awesome, dice dealers are pros and the floors are the best. Slot machines, there are so many! read more

Calvin at the front desk was great! Friendly and knowledgeable. Give this man a raise:)

I am rating just the slot machines since that is all I participated in during my brief visit. They allow smoking, but the ventilation system does a nice job and the smoke is not oppressive or irritating. There are very few slot machines that you can play for 25 cents...so be prepared to spend 66 cents ir more in most cases per play. I was able to find a fun, fairly loose machine after I moved around a few times. I recovered almost all of my losses on it and was able to feel the fun I had was worth the time invested. It is clean and new but to stay there at the hotel seems way to expensive for attracting people to spend more money. It seems like an odd location to put a casino like this in a working class neighborhood and town...but it is the closest one to my North Carolina home. read more

Located in a temp facility (tent), this is one of the smokiest casinos I have been to. They offer most table games and were at $15 a hand at noon sunday, increasing to $25 by 5 pm. They have a small snack bar with hot dogs, burgers, and pizza. The dealers were not fully trained, and a few times, wins were taken in blackjack but returned when the dealer was questioned. I will return in a few months, giving the dealers time to improve. read more

Gotta love Caesars Entertainment cause Caesars Danville Virginia didn't disappoint! They opened in May of this year and still are under a huge white tent on the grounds of the old Dan River sheet factory location. It's a quick one hour drive there from Charlotte. Parking galore on both sides of the street. You can also see the foundation for the groundbreaking area of what will be a 500-room casino and hotel entertainment complex. They do check and identify, so if you don't have a valid driver's license, you will not get in. Security was pleasant and dancing whike assisting which hyped the mood on what was a very short wait line. Once past them, slots to the left and slots to the right. Everything is nicely spaced, so you dont feel you are too close to anyone. The food court is still getting up to speed with a formal opening next year. My friends and I had a good time between slots and poker. One friend hit for $950 on her first spin on a machine. Exit stage left at that point. We ran quickly before losing it back. Lol. Worth the trip! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. August 16th Saturday was the worst day to go to Caesar's Virginia In order to cash your ticket you had to stand in a 20 deep line to cash your ticket. After doing this twice I left. Many of the ticket redemption machines were not working so the lines were awful one out of every four were broke. Unreal after spending 20 minutes waiting to cash a ticket I just left. Way to keep your casino rolling! read more

My first trip to the new casino was today. It has been open only 13 days and it STINKS and it is filthy DIRTY! It smelled like the "morning after the night before from a 1960's bar!" The cigar and cigarette smoke has already ruined a beautiful casino! There were cigarette butts that had been mashed out on the carpet. There were ashes on the machines. There is NOT a non-smoking section. Why have elaborate, beautiful chandeliers that cost thousands of dollars, and allow the "tail to wag the dog" and ruin an outstanding facility by allowing smoking? Even though smoking was allowed in the tent, it was never as bad as in this new building. It's a shame when you have to change your clothes before driving home to prevent your car from smelling like an ashtray. Every where I went was filthy dirty. Beside the ashes on the machines, the ash trays were full of butts, as well as on the nice carpet. There was all sorts of trash on the floor. I even saw the mouthpiece tip of a cigar. The bathroom was dirty too. This "could" be a really nice casino "if" there #1 No smoking and #2 Had more janitorial staff to clean-up. I would also add, the slot machines are too close together and not organized like the "tent." There were areas where you have to turn sideways to get through the slot machines. No handicap person in a wheelchair or motorized scooter could manipulate through the slot machines. If given the choice, I'd easily pick the tent over this new facility any day! read more

This place needs a ton of work. Room was clean and fine once we finally got checked in around 5pm after taking a different room just to get something. We got there at 2pm. Casino games are so close together your suffocating, theirs no where near enough food offerings, lines are awful. The staff working food court were doing their best and were friendly, bartenders in Casino slow and inattentive. Caesar's rushed the opening on this, they desperately need a second sit down restaurant just one (Ramsey's) is not enough to serve the crowds and your drinks are not even comped when playing, wow?? I may give this place another shot later once they work out the kinks but thats only because we live close. read more

My husband and I went to Caesars Casino in Virginia. Our hotel room was beautiful. We had to use the valet parking to be able to bring our luggage to the room. My husband got up earlier the next morning and he wanted to get a cup of coffee at 5:30am. At the only place open , Three Stacks you could only get water and juice for $5. He couldn't go anywhere else since the valet office was not open , so he couldn't get to the car. The Casino smell bad, the ashtrays were full and a lot of machine didn't work. We supposed to be there for 2 days, but we left the next morning. The worst Casino we had ever been too. Columbia, SC read more

This place is STRUGGLING my goodness! The food was wrong, the dealers couldn't count (way off) and the bartenders intentionally ignored my friend, I watched 4 people that came after him get their drinks she even showed someone pictures on her phone as a way to further delay helping him. Finally he got his order and she had no idea what Basil Hayden was, she poured the double so short it was disrespectful. I don't know what we did to the bartender of the lobby bar of Caesar's( not in the casino) her name is terry. Awful service and attitude! read more

In the magnificent 1995 film "Casino", Robert DeNiro's character flatly and firmly states: "That's the truth about Las Vegas. We are the only winners. The players don't stand a chance." It is for this reason that I read with mirthless amusement reviewers who low-rate Caesar's Virginia because they lost money. When you are placing wagers at a casino, be grateful just to escape with your skivvies. Anything above that is a bonus. So let's review Caesar's based on what it is supposed to be: entertainment. GAMES: they have scores of electronic games from traditional slot machines to more modern ones that tower above you. Some of the art and graphics is amazing on these colorful, musical, mesmerizing games. They also have a couple of dozen live tables, hosting all the traditional casino games. Finally, they have kiosks where you can place sports bets. ATMOSPHERE: the ambiance is fun if you are there with friends and/or are there for the express purpose of amusement. But rest assured, if you scan the room carefully, you will see and feel plenty of anxiety, longing, and waning hope tinged with unfulfillment, desperation, and vice. The real Achilles' heel of Caesars, Virginia, however, is the physical atmosphere. In the modern world where smoking is prohibited nearly everywhere, describing the pall of smoke that pervades this place is nearly impossible. It is something most young people in the United States today are completely unfamiliar with, and brings back bad memories for those of us who are old enough to remember. As a side note, it is interesting that smoking is allowed in casinos. This is because of politicians, who are, shall we say, interesting people. I will say it that way so as to remain polite. Studies have conclusively proven that smoking encourages gambling. And since the state of Virginia will be lining their coffers with money from the fledgling casino industry, it should come as no surprise that they did not go out of their way to ban smoking in the casinos--in other words, you're health and protection from second hand smoke are suspended in places where enough tax revenue is flowing in the direction of lawmakers. So, if you cannot abide cigarette smoke, you would do well to stay away from here. It is really pervasive and heavy. FOOD: we did not eat anything, so are unable to attest to its flavor or quality, but it was definitely expensive. CROWDS: We got there fairly early, around 9:30 a.m., and it was not too busy at all But throughout the day (a Thursday), it slowly filled up and was quite busy by the time we left at 1:30. WHY DO I HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY TO DANVILLE? The North Carolina legislature has not yet seen fit to legalize casinos in the state. (For more depth on this issue, I would encourage you to read outstanding journalist Scott Sexton's trenchant 5/27/23 Winston-Salem Journal article regarding this subject.) Much of it, of course, is steeped in religion. I would like to point out, however, that the Bible is curiously silent on the specific issue of gambling. DID I WIN? Well, I escaped with more than just my skivvies. read more

This is a temporary casino in advance of permanent facility. Smoking only, go early or die. My third trip and seems impossible to win, slots are tight with low payouts even for max bets. As a Rewards member, usually get some sort of promo but have yet to see. Come on, Caesar's, isn't something besides points possible? It's a long way from Raleigh to other Casino's, maybe best bet is just not. Coming out of the tent smelly and a loser isn't fun. read more

I'll focus my review on the new WSOP Poker room. Having just opened this week, I expected some bugs but I think the problems could have been avoid. Heck, this place is 3 years behind opening. The two women that were working the desk were clueless in how things should have worked. Definitely showed lack of training. There weren't enough dealers to handle the players, bad planning. I heard the rake was above normal but I wouldn't know, after 1 1/2 hours on the wait list, I gave up. Is was about 25th on the list and moved up 3 or 4 in that time. When I left I pulled the poker room mgr a side and told him to take me off the list. I asked if I could have the poker room telephone number, so I could call a head next time. I could hear his frustration as he said we don't have a phone yet! (really?) To his credit he said, I'll give you my cell number and you can call me. I was amazed but thought (hoped) he'll get this straightened out in the future. read more

The casino allows smoking. Don't go as the second hand smoke is horrible! We stayed at the hotel non-smoking room but could still smell smoke on our skin, hair and all of the clothing we had worn. The food venues are strange and you have to exit out the casino to get to them. Not very big area to sit and eat. We left the building to eat. Not a great plan on their part!
