The new car park will facilitate 72 vehicles. The build is eco friendly and environmentally considered to bring Caerphilly Mountain Snack Bar into the 21st century.The new snack bar is an Eco build with the best in installation everything has been carefully considered for minimizing environmental impact. Solar panels to control the under floor heating and hot water. Complete with an under ground rainwater harvesting system to collect water from the roof up to 6'000 gallons in a container that is filtered and used to flush the toilets. It is cleverly fitted with specialist LED lighting that is super energy efficient. For example a normal GU10 would be 50 watts, whereas each of these is only 1 watt.Multiple sun tubes are an innovative feature and provide a compelling alternative to artificial lighting, bringing the benefits of piping brilliant, natural sun light to the snack bar minimizing energy consumption and the carbon footprint. Which is a modern solution delivering on-distance natural daylight to rooms in which there is no possibility to install windows or their number is insufficient.A lot of environmental issues are being addressed by the owners who have had illustrations created into cartoon characters one being the Mountain Monster with the aim to help educate children about recycling and keeping the countryside clean. Backpacks and Sticker books are ready for production and we are hoping for support from local third sector bodies to push this scheme through simultaneously with the launch.Food Produce is all locally sourced and Welsh where possible. Portions are generous and quality of produce and cooking at high standards to always deliver the best. I remember when Caerphilly mountain snack bar was just just a run down little white shack on top of a hill. You wouldn't want to throw up in it, let alone eat anything out of it. But over the years it's present owner has taken it through many revamps to improve it's appearance, he has always seen it as a diamond in the rough, but after this latest refurb, a whole new bigger, better building, it will look like a diamond! What's his secret to it's success, the owner may never tell, but to me it's obvious, and I've eaten at many a burger van. You can put poor fillings into a nice fresh bread bun and it will taste ok, You can put good fillings into a poor bread bun and it will taste poor, But if you put quality fillings into a quality fresh bread bun, then it tastes great!!!!
