We were just passing by in the city and we were hungry and stopped inside The CaddyShak Inn. Place has huge hamburgers and fries, We ordered some burgers and fries. My girl cant eat as much as i can. She almost had me throw up shoving her food in my face with her hands lol. I had to take a doggy bag on the road with us. Nice place to have some fun. Had maybe one drink, because we had to drive. Have heard good things about this "under the radar" spot, and the family was hunkering for burgers...so we figured "what the hey?!?!?" We decided to split a few appetizers before sinking out teeth into the burgers. My wife and I ordered a couple of drafts and they brought us the first course...fried pickles. The spears were molten hot, but once they cooled a bit we discovered they were crispy, tangy and served with a ranch dipping sauce. Good stuff! Next, we dug into a basket of 12 "hot" flavored wings. The drummies and wings were cooked firm/crisp and they were plump and juicy on the inside, covered in a perfect hot sauce and served with bleu cheese dressing. I was really surprised at the quality of this dish. Last, for the main course...the burgers. Each burger was mammoth (1/2 lb. cheeseburger and a full-pound Big Shak)! Unfortunately, they were slightly overcooked (given out temp choices) but still juicy on the inside. The Brioche bun was grilled and held up well to the huge slabs of meat and extra toppings. Stopped in on a fall Sunday afternoon - I was hunting for burger & this place had decent Yelp reviews. Pulling in, I wasn't sure if it was still in business but the many cars in the parking lot indicated that I may be stumbling upon a gem. I was pretty surprised... walking in, I immediately got that Hometown bar feel. 1 o'clock Sunday football games were on all over the TV's, patrons were having some good conversation and the bartender was keeping prompt tabs on everyone's needs. I didn't waste any time. Ordered a bottled Miller Lite (ice cold) and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the house chips and dipping sauce. The meal came out in less than 10 minutes. Burger was solid... large, cooked medium (as I'd asked) and the bacon was crispy. The burger veggies (L-O-T) were fresh. The real surprise was the house-made, fried potato chips. I had to throttle back from shoveling them down with the house chip dip. I did not regret passing on fries for the $1 extra... These chips were the bomb. I added a little bit of salt but that's my own preference. Ambiance was bar casual, welcoming and laid-back. Pleasant conversation about local things going on, football and life. Place is gross. It stinks. It's dirty. There's no pavement in the parking lot, so it's full of dirt; dirt and grime that no doubt is tracked into the dirty restaurant. If you like scummy old smelly dives, then you'll enjoy it...maybe...if you can hold your breath the entire time you're there. read more

This is a dive bar (which happens to be my preference.) That said, I was craving a good burger on my way home from work so thought I'd check if they have takeout. The bartender who answered was a little short with me and clearly seemed annoyed. Which is why only 4 stars. But from there everything got better. I ordered a straight cheeseburger cooked medium which comes with homemade chips and a dill dip. The burger was very big, cooked perfectly and DELICIOUS. The chips were excellent and the dip was so good I ate it all before I was halfway through the chips. Bottom line, great option for takeout. Plus they have a huge menu. Overall they have great Ohio beer on draft and also have a really nice outdoor smoking area, friendly people and feels like an awesome hometown bar feel! It looks a little sketch from the outside, and it's certainly nothing fancy inside - but wow, are the burgers worth the venture in. Plus it's insanely cheap, good food and drinks, in a fun atmosphere. We were at Caddyshack on Dec. 26th for their fish fry with 10 people. Fish dinner with perogis was very good and well worth the $11.95. Service was good even though a couple of us were not with the group paying our bill. The waitress never missed a beat and all our bills were correct. This place is amazing. It's not this brand new hippie bar that the guy in the sweater vest will enjoy visiting. If you're this kind of person, go away and move to San Francisco. Now, if you're a normal, true Clevelander, you'll love this bar. They have a full grass driving range (no mats to scuff up your clubs), amazing food, affordable drinks, sand volleyball, and even cornhole. Oh, and they have a fire pit outside because who doesn't love fire. All of this is enclosed on the property right next to the bar, the only thing outside fences is the driving range. Caddyshak has good food and drinks at reasonable prices. I've never had a bad meal here. For $6 try any if the wraps and don't bother getting fries the chips that they come with are excellent and they come with delicious homemade chip dip. This place is a local hangout in Hinckley that's a great place to go after a round of golf at one of the many courses in the area. Or go before your round and warm up at the driving range on site.
