If you're looking for a knowledgeable and professional dog trainer, Nick brings both expertise and clarity to the process. His approach gave us the confidence to move forward with one of his puppy training packages. The group sessions have been incredibly valuable--providing structure, socialization, and meaningful growth for Koa. We're especially grateful for the one-on-one guidance Nick has given us, helping us confidently reinforce commands and build strong obedience skills at home and on walks. We've seen tremendous improvement, particularly in managing Koa's over-the-top excitement when greeting people and other dogs. Content K9s also offers boarding and training to their clients, so having that option during our recent 2 1/2-week international trip gave us complete peace of mind. Koa was clearly well cared for, and we returned to a happy, well-adjusted pup. Nick and the Content K9s team deliver professional, effective, and thoughtful dog training. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for puppy training, obedience training, or behavioral support.

She wouldn't walk when I put the leash on her and would just freeze in place. I was so nervous & stressed out on how I would train her when she wouldn't even take one step. They turned my shy little Chai into a proud, confident German Shepherd like she was always meant to be!

We were lucky to have found Taggs K9 dog training and was assigned to Simone. Simone did a fantastic job of redirecting our puppy of all of the concerns we were experiencing. It was stated in the beginning of the boarding that she is "not a miracle worker" however- it seems so. LOL She did an excellent job with explaining everything to the family so that we could all be on the same page. It really is up to the owners to do their part for the program to work. We are forever grateful for the way that we were treated as humans and for the love and care our puppy received. We learned so much from Simone. Thank you, Taggs K9! Thank you, Simone!

Our Willow is a spunky, headstrong little pup and we lacked the language, experience, and expertise needed to establish effective boundaries and clear communication lines with her. Enter Ken, who, after our consultation meeting, was already offering us some very practical, very doable tips to help establish some sense of normalcy back into our lives. We enrolled Willow in the 2 week puppy piddler program and paired it with some private lessons at Ken's suggestion. We're so glad the hybrid program is something he now offers because it's made us more effective pack leaders to help uphold the foundational training she received in the 2 weeks she was with him. Immediately, we noticed a difference in her behavior. She is still just as spunky, just as stubborn, but now she comes with an off switch. She's perfectly happy sniffing for a treat as she is laying next to mom while she's working. She no longer counter surfs and happily settles into her crate when needed. Part of the package we purchased also included a 5strands test for food and environmental intolerances that could contribute to her behavior. Simone provided us with the results and it's given us a baseline for what foods, preservatives, and enviromental triggers she could potentially have an intolerance to. It's been so eye opening, as common healthy foods were flagged as a major irritant for her. Empowered by Simone and the reports, I now feel more confident in selecting her food, including fresh food I now cook for her. I will never stop recommending Ken and Simone for anyone who is in need of a comprehensive program that takes into account your dog holistically. Thank you both for what you do!

There were a few problem behaviors we were able to work on right away. Jumping, sitting, and overall listening. AJ is extremely great with our dogs. They are excited to see her every session, and happy to work hard for her. AJ is not only a great dog trainer but also a teacher to us humans. She helped us learn the tools we needed for our dogs to be successful. After 8 sessions our dogs are doing great with door manners, a long stay, coming when called and more. She has taught us fun games that allow the dogs to use their noses to find scents, while also tiring them out. I recommend AJ to anyone in need of help with dogs who already are great, but have a few quirks to workout. And I highly recommend AJ to anyone with new pups in the house. She has made a huge difference for us, and our dogs as well as everyone's confidence!

I must stress that AJ is just not about training but more importantly she believes in Nala's well being. AJ created a bond with Nala, yet Nala is aware she is in training. AJ listened to our needs, and investigated our surroundings/situation. AJ prioritizes Nala's delicate insecurities. There are not many Trainers (or businesses) that go above and beyond the need to "sincerely help" and yet is still a professional. ie: AJ has accompanied us on numerous Vet visits; suggested Doggie Daycare, plus accompanied us on Nala 1st visit and ensured Nala's transition into socializing with other dogs. In which was a success! Nala is now at leash training status and people interaction. Stay tuned for further updates... Don't ponder... we still HIGHLY RECOMMEND AJ for your pet training needs!!!!

As long as you use the tools he gives you and practice them, you will be in great shape. He provides 3 group classes a week you can attend for extra help. It helped our dogs be around other dogs, it allows them to like and be around other humans as well. Dave doesn't force me or the dogs to do anything we do not feel comfortable doing. It does all depend with the owner or onwner's of the dog on how fast your dog will learn new habits and tricks. We recently adopted two older (Terrier) boy dogs that are maybe 7 and 8 years old the vets says. We also decided to get a 10 week girl pit bull at the time. One of the boys would try to attack the baby every time he saw her. I felt stuck and did not think my dogs would ever be in the same room, let alone even get along. Dave helped us with just a few at home lessons and now they are inseparable!! They play, tease and steal eachother's bones everyday. If you have any trouble with your dog and want to have control, I would highly recommend Sit Means Sit training with David Heck. My experience training with Dave has been amazing and I have surely seen the results in my dog Leo. Julie has been our trainer for obedience and e-collar, and she is truly amazing. She's extremely knowledgeable, explains everything in a way that's easy to understand, and always takes time during every class to work one-on-one with each dog and owner. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants every dog to succeed. She's also very down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and the dogs absolutely love her. Stormi is a husky, so she can definitely be stubborn and sometimes act like she doesn't understand English when she actually does. Julie really understands the breed (she has several huskies herself), which has made a huge difference. Since starting classes, Stormi's leash walking has improved the most, and she's listening to me so much better instead of barking back at me like she used to... as much. Huskies definitely still have opinions, but the improvement has been huge. I've also noticed a big boost in her confidence. So far we've completed E-Collar, Obedience 1, 2, and 3, and I'm already looking forward to continuing with Obedience 4 and eventually service dog training. One thing I really appreciate is how well Julie works with all kinds of dogs in the class. There have been reactive dogs, anxious dogs, and even deaf dogs, and she does an amazing job helping each one improve. It's really cool seeing every dog make progress week after week. I also started agility with Amanda, and that has been such a fun experience too. Agility has been an awesome bonding activity for Stormi and me, and Amanda does a great job keeping the classes engaging and supportive. I actually found Smarty Paws because I met someone at the dog park whose dog was incredibly well trained compared to Stomri, and they told me this is where they went. I'm really glad they recommended it to me, because it has been such a positive experience. The trainers are knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. Stormi and I both look forward to class every week, and I'm really glad we found this place. Highly recommend!

When my…read morepartner and I were looking for a trainer for our dogs, we weren't blind to what our babies needed to succeed, but we didn't know how to go about it. Denise was the first trainer to write me back, and upon going onto her website and thumbtack account, I read all of the wonderful things that others had said about her - they're all true by the way. Denise sat down and listened to all of our concerns. We have a 1.5 year old rednose pitbull and a 2.5 year old akita/shepherd mix. Both our girls were rescues, and after a really ugly fight among each other, and our vet telling us that they'd NEVER be able to be around each other alone again, we knew we had to do something for them and for ourselves. Even just the consultation, we were able to see what the problem areas were and started a game plan. Five weeks later, and my dogs are almost unrecognizable, compared to before Denise came into our lives. Denise is kind, loving, and knowledgeable. I was so scared I was going to end up with a drill sergeant for a trainer, and that my dogs weren't going to respond to anything anyone said. BOY WAS I WRONG! Both of our dogs took to her and her direction so well - even our 8 year old mini schnauzer mini poodle started to take direction from her, and she wasn't even a focus. They listen better, they play better with one another, and most of all they're trusting us, as their owner's to show them the way, in everything that they do. We will be giving it a few months of trying to do some of our own follow through, and then more than likely touching base with Denise again for some more advanced training. I can't thank you enough, Denise. Thank you for showing us that we can love our dogs, while still providing structure. You have been nothing short of a miracle worker. In the above pictures, you'll be able to see some of our progress. We really hope that more dog owners will take the responsibility of getting the appropriate training that their fur-children need - if they can't do it themselves - and I wouldn't put my faith in anyone that isn't Denise.

All of the training she received has 'stuck' and she is as obedient as we could hope for. In fact the training she received from AKA has allowed us to continue her training. We constantly get compliments on how obedient she is! Denise, thank you again.....this is all due to your initial training, mostly of us (the owners). Dogs are smart, their owners are the ones who need to learn. Denise is one of the few who trained the dog AND the owners for the same price!! I can't say enough about her. She is NOT the cheapest trainer out there, but you can't compare a Yugo to a Tesla either!!
