AMAZING. OMG. Seriously. Are you a Mexican food lover? Do you like lovely slow cooked meats…read more(carnitas, barbacoa)? This place is OFF THE CHARTS excellent!! We are in Denver for business - and a friend recommend this spot. On our first visit (YES, we are here for only a couple days, but have been twice, so far...and plan one more visit before we leave)...we ordered the Al Pastor Tacos and the smothered Carnitas burrito. I am a HUGE carnitas fan...and this burrito was sublime. It's about the size of two traditional sized enchiladas (not too big)...had an amazing tomatillo sauce...with a wonderful pickled cabbagey thing on top. Seriously, every bit was moist and delicious. Baby had the Al Pastor tacos - which he pronounced "the best I've ever had." So, a couple days later we took my brother (local to Denver). This time, we took the waiter's recommendation (he is also the owner)...and I had the Barbacoa Quesadilla (which comes with Barbacoa "juice" and a nice little hot salsa) - SO great!; Baby had the "pork belly tacos" which, in his description, "Sublime! From a reluctant Mexican food person...those tacos were blessed." (He is Canadian and also not religious...so, this is unheard of...) We are in town for a couple more days...and plan to go back before we leave. We also purchased some of their salsas! Yum...all different, but lovely. No preservatives...just beautiful fresh ingredients. This place is a MUST GO! (Also, good and easy parking for our big truck) Nice outdoor seating with umbrellas! Super service. Our server clearly wants you to enjoy your experience. If I could give this restaurant a 10 star, I would.

Apparently they change the menu weekly. Can't wait to return -- but I sure won't order the rice again. That was the only disappointment. Service was as quick and attentive. I forgot to ask for no diced jalapeños and was fully prepared to buy a new burrito, but they didn't even hesitate -- they made me another one. That's old‑school customer service. Best part? They actually mix the ingredients inside the burrito, unlike Chipotle. Now I just need to come back and try a breakfast burrito.

I was excited to try Bonfire, but unfortunately came out less than impressed. We went to the…read moreGolden location, and the building has a very cool vibe to it. We looked at the menu right in front of the cash register and liked the description of the Chupacabra burrito ("pasture raised eggs, crispy hash browns, house-made green chile, all-natural chorizo, all-natural sausage, nitrate-free bacon, cheddar cheese, and chipotle crema"). My wife and I each ordered a Chupacabra to go. We drove out to a mountain park to have our burritos, and were disappointed when we bit into them. It definitely wasn't what was described. It was a very soggy consistency, and was filled with some type of red sauce, a bit of rice, a lot of beans, and a couple of chunks of meat. I checked the bag and receipt to verify that we ordered the correct burritos, and it appeared that we had. Getting the wrong order was pretty disappointing, particularly for an expensive carryout burrito ($15/each - okay, stuff is expensive these days, so that wasn't a deal breaker). I also understand that mistakes happen, so I wasn't totally done with Bonfire at this point, because I understand that no system involving people will ever be perfect. My wife called the location to tell them that we received the wrong order. We were about twenty minutes away at this point, but wanted them to know that we didn't get what we paid for. The guy who picked up the phone was really abrupt, and told us that we got the "lunch Chupacabra". Evidently this place uses the same name for two different burritos (there's both a breakfast and lunch Chupacabra). Ignoring the fact that it's strange to have essentially the same name for two different burritos, what we received wasn't the breakfast or lunch Chupacabra burrito, and the guy on the phone couldn't even be bothered to say "sorry for the mistake". After we got home I looked at the menu, and it appears that we were both given something that looked to be the "L-Javelina" burrito (not one I would have ever ordered, honestly). Ultimately this place seemed to have a lot of potential, and I was excited to try the burrito I had actually ordered. But, honestly, I don't see myself going back. Mistakes happen, but receiving rude service in response to politely informing the restaurant that we were given the wrong burritos really turned me off to this spot. It does seem baffling to me that they have two different burritos with the same name, but what we ordered was definitely the breakfast version, as it was the one shown on the screen we read before ordering. Despite what we were told by the rude employee on the phone, what we received was neither the breakfast or lunch version, and the service we received after that error is ultimately what left the worst taste in our mouths.

The spectacle here is a rotating showcase of beer, wine, and cocktails on a self-pour tap wall. As you can see from the photos, you identify the drink you want and pour it yourself. How it works: you obtain a swipe card from the register. Like a bar, they open a tab for you after confirming your identity (ID check) and storing your credit card information. You are then issued a Golden Mill charge card that you will swipe at the wall to pour your drinks. Pours are charged by the ounce. The cocktails are reasonably priced, however, unless you're an expert draft pourer you can rack up quite the bill trying to pour draft beer with minimal head. A worker helped me to pour my draft using his own card after my failed attempt. Workers are posted near the wall and maintain a close eye to assist customers which I believe is great customer service to mitigate user errors simply from a Murphy's Law perspective. Like many other food halls I've experienced, this one also has a good selection of food vendors ranging from BBQ, sushi, tacos, ice cream, and chicken. High tables, lounge tables, and standing areas are ample here. The scene is also a good venue for hosting small events. When I visited there was a live band performing downstairs. The customer service was very friendly. Parking nearby was not ideal and there is strict parking enforcement at the lot adjacent to the facility. Overall, a great experience and I will visit again when in the area.
