Good food, service was not great. The food selection was broad, and quite delicious! But the service was poor and felt like we were inconveniencing our server. We considered ordering drinks at the bar to save both our and our servers time. I know we were not the only ones, as multiple other tables were visibly dissatisfied as well. Food was great! I had 3 tacos with 1-carnitas, 1-el pastor and 1-!asada. Each was overflowing with delicious meat and toppings. Husband had a combo plate with enchilada and a burrito of some sort. Impressive restaurant. Good food, clean environment, efficient prompt service, and a good location, I am glad I tried this place. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and seated at the booth of our choice. The chips and fresh salsa were really good and that is always a good sign. We asked about portion sizes and our server explained what to expect and then dropped an honorable that today (Wednesday) was the Enchilada lunch special for $10. 3 mix and match, with rice and beans. Bam! Easy choice. Done. My dinner partner opted for the tacos (3) and was also quite satisfied with the large filling of meat in each taco. Full bar. Lots of cool artwork. Overall, great new find. We'd been here once before when this was under another name and immediately remembered the sparse parking options and it being situated on the first floor of an apartment building. Not good or bad, just what my brain files away, lol. Today, we found parking quick and easy. Thank you, parking gods. The interior layout is the same as I remembered - large bar area, bright space with a minimalist but cool decor. We ordered chips and queso with a side of guacamole - this was my only complaint. Def check out what $5 of guac will get'cha. I was so surprised, I genuinely asked to confirm that this was indeed the $5 side of guac. Yep, it is. The container is one you'd put a dollop of butter in (maybe slightly bigger than a quarter). My only WFH moment. That aside and lesson learned, the queso, tacos and house marg were great. We'll be back and I won't be ordering guac, lol. read more

Food: best Al pastor tacos we have ever had (even in Mexico). Vegetarian tamales were delicious and the handmade chips and salsa were fantastic. First, I want to say the food is incredible. Second, we have been 4 times now times for the incredible food and hoping the service gets better. I'm so sad to say, it is still lacking. Slow, messed up charges and delivery of wrong food (but very kind and didn't mention the food is great?) I write this to help with training to improve service. Came here with a girl friend on a Thursday night. Parking was fairly easy, plenty of free street parking. They have bar seating, booths, tables as well as some tables outside for when the weather is nice. We sat at the restaurant bar and started with some chips. Our waitress who was also the bartender was great; she let us sit and catch up before pressuring us to order. The drinks were delicious, and I ended up getting the fries with the chipotle on the side (it was a bit spicy for me). I also got a side of sour cream and guacamole which made it that much better. It was a decent portion size, and I had leftovers for the next day. My friend ordered Birra tacos and loved them! Prices were fair and what you would expect. Around $40 each with a drink and main. We ended up sitting and chatting/eating for around 3 hours. We saw many people come and go. A gentleman who I believe was the owner greet almost everyone who walked in. He clearly recognized or knew them and cares about his patrons which was so lovely to see. I live around 25 minutes away, but I hope to be on that level one day. Overall, 4.5/5 stars! Service was good but I think they are maybe down a person. Was pretty slow to get our check. Food was pretty good. Salsa and chips are really good. The guac needed more lime or just a bit more kick. The shrimp were a little fishy smelling. Otherwise enchiladas and burritos were great. read more

Gotta be honest. Aside from the fresh chips and salsa, I wasn't impressed with the food. I ordered the pork in red chili sauce, my wife the carne asada. The pork was super overcooked and dry, even with the red sauce. My wife's carne asada was like a leather shoe tongue. Thin, dry and chewy. She asked for medium rare, so I can't imagine how wekl done would be cooked (beef jerky?). Staff was reasonably attentive, but they have my order to someone else, and I waited around an extra five minutes for my entree. The interior is clean and new. That was a plus. Stopped in randomly on our way up to Winter Park; we saw they had a patio which we needed for our dog. It was perfect sitting outside. Ask for Lupita. She gave us the weekly special rundown. FOOD: Husband ordered a smothered asada burrito and I ordered the veggie tacos without pineapple and they were Amazing. Like delicious. Came with a side sauce, but honestly didn't even put it on because they tasted so good without it. I forgot it was there, but it was also good. Great salsa served at table as well. I've had my eye on La Huacha in Golden ever since I started working there. They always had a line. They always sold out. And somehow, I never tried them... UNTIL they moved into one of the buildings I manage (taking over Pancho & Jane - RIP). Now, it's a problem because I keep spending money... but also the best thing because their food is unreal. I mean, 5.0 stars with 437 reviews?! They're not playing. Let's dig in! What I tried (over several visits): Queso Dip - White cheese sauce + green chiles + tortilla chips (I added chorizo ). Huachadilla Al Pastor - Flour tortilla + melted Monterrey cheese + Al Pastor + guac. Carnitas Tacos - Shredded carnitas, cilantro, white onion. Torta La Huacha - Telera roll + asada + mayo + fresh cilantro + grilled onions + black beans + melted cheese. Tres Leches Cake - Sponge cake soaked in three milks (aka heaven). Horchata Agua Fresca - Cinnamon rice water Pancakes - Two house-made pancakes + scrambled eggs + ham Best Bites: I'm picky about tres leches because the icing can make or break it. This one? Flawless. Creamy, full of flavor, and honestly, I need a bucket. The torta also slapped and the black beans were a nice touch, and the asada was cooked perfectly. This review is for the new restaurant that opened in 2025 vs. their original food truck. The food is delicious and not your typical "Americanized" Mexican fare. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just nice to have something that feels more authentic and freshly made. We've sampled fajitas, carnitas plate, chile negro and the tacos pastor. Everything was fresh and delicious. The margaritas are also hand made rather than from a gun or tankard. The space is very cool with nice art and the bar centering the venue. Service was attentive and friendly. This will be one of our regular spots. read more

This place is truly excellent. It's hard to find good enchiladas in my experience, but these suizas did the job well. Excellent tomatillo salsa. My tablemates were really into their dinners as well: torta de pollo; carnitas, pastor and cauliflower tacos; and vegetarian enchiladas. This new restaurant is just amazing!!! Our server told us their story. They started out selling salsa at farmers markets. Graduated to a food truck. And now they have a brick and mortar location in Golden! The chips were fresh fresh fresh. Salsa was also fresh and excellent. We all loved our cocktails. The Paloma was one of the best I've had. Tequila perfectly balanced with the grapefruit. I had the soft chili rellanos covered in the green chili. It was the best rellano I have had in ages. They are my favorite so I am very picky. The chili was flavorful and the cheese was plentiful, high quality and perfectly melted all the way through. The highlight was the green chili... the whole table liked it so much everyone ordered their own small serving to pour over their meals! The ambiance is beautiful. Gorgeous finishes. Rustic with bright turquoise tile wood finishes. Big glass garage doors that open onto the patio. Should be fun this summer. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Solid food, good service, but a bit too pricey for my wallet. For three people we had tacos, two margs (taps for beer were broken) and a soda which came to $75 not including tip! A bit excessive if you ask me, but maybe that's the reality of eating out these days, everything is just more expensive. Amazing service!!! Would definitely recommend for genuine Mexican food. I had the carnitas platillo, and for 15$ I was more than fed! It was some of the best pulled pork I've ever had, it was the perfect ratio of fat to meat, and very soft. My sister got the mix & mash tacos, where you can try three different tacos which you don't see often in Mexican restaurants. We ordered a palomita, and it took me to back to Mexico! This is a 10/10 place, great service and the vibes in here are fantastic. A modern Mexican restaurant is how I would describe the vibes. Went here on Friday, 28 February 2025. I ordered several different drinks and couldn't even taste a tequila in the house margarita, $9. I also ordered the La Fulanita drink, which was $3 more, but had the same issue as above. Plus, the drinks were small for the price you're paying. Too bad, too, because I like a good margarita with my Mexican food. I also ordered the quesadilla dip which was good and the salsa they brought to the table with chips was very yummy. I had to try their Pozole Verde, which is a green, pork soup, and that was very delicious, but for $15 it better be. I would order that again. I can't say that I would order the shrimp tacos a second time. I was hoping they would have just fish (without breading on the fish, which seems to be the only kind of fish tacos. Colorado produces ) tacos. The shrimp tacos didn't have enough cabbage, and other ingredients in them. I like authentic Mexican food and it's so hard to find. So many of these Mexican restaurants Americanize the food it to the point of grossness. I will try this place again, just because I like how spicy and favorful their food is and they do seem to make a lot of their dishes from scratch instead of opening a package, which I can do at home. The service was OK and it wasn't that busy. I thought later of ordering the queso and I couldn't get the attention of my waitress, because she never came by my table even though I could see her going to other tables. Finally, I asked the person who brought me my drink, which took a while to get, to let my waitress know about the queso. The ambience was OK. Nothing to write home about, but at least it was clean and new. I do like it when they add a little bit more of a Mexican theme, but they didn't seem to be doing that much at this restaurant. At least there seem to be enough parking space (I asked, and you could park to the right [facing the restaurant] in the parking lot, which I wasn't sure belong to them or the apartment building, but the hostess said it was fine), so I don't have to worry about that. read more
