As a Texan, I was fascinated by this place. The waiter was confused when we ordered guacamole as an appetizer. The menu lists it only as a side. The guacamole came with what looked like store-bought tortilla chips. The guacamole itself was bland. It needed lime, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro.
We ordered the Mexican lamb, which is interesting because lamb is not a protein you would normally find on a Mexican menu. There was nothing at all Mexian about this lamb. That being said, it was cooked well. The sauce was delicious. It was everything I would expect from braised lamb served in England. The margarita was weak. I'm pretty sure it was just store-bought margarita mix.
For dessert, we got churros. I'm used to eating them out of a paper bag. They came on a fancy slate. They were a bit dense.
I admire the attempt. And for that, I give a 3-star. Perhaps, one day the chef can visit Texas and Mexico for some research. read more
