We have frequented the Riverside often and always enjoyed out visit. On a Sunday you can choose from the daily menu and there is also a Sunday lunch menu. Today we ordered roast beef from the Sunday lunch menu. Not sure what happened today, but the meal was terrible. To start with the plates were cold and the star of the meal, the roast beef, was overcooked resulting in meat which was hard to cut and difficult to chew. It was extremely tough! The vegetables were nearly cold. Another important point was the presentation. The plate had to much food piled on it and was very poorly presented. We feel the chef must of been having a bad day and most certainly needs to revisit how to cook beef correctly and also think about the presentation of a meal. The meal was uninspiring and neither plate of food was finished. All in all a very unsatisfactory Sunday lunch. We have only given 2 stars, because of the setting and friendly service staff.
