They have just adapted so well. The teachers are strict but i like that. They are a school with acticites for kids as for new york programs were being cut every year. They have great teachers One teacher that I would like to give a review on is Mrs. Woodward, I love her she is amazing with the kids and is stern when need be. The office ladies get pissed off when you ask them to just do their job and the junior high teachers are disgusting. So rude and unfriendly. They constantly demand respect while treating students with the least amount of respect possible. One time I walked into the girls restroom and there was a swastika on the wall painted with feces. I was also openly Jewish at the school and the english teacher constantly picked me to be Anne Frank during the holocaust lessons and constantly picked me out to answer holocaust related questions. The math teacher was incredibly rude and inappropriate, constantly making racist remarks to black and Asian students. I absolutely do not recommend this school and I believe it should be shut down.

We have been loyal customers for two years my son, who is now 11 still very much looks forward to his classes. The ladies at the front desk are always super nice, welcoming, and helpful. when we have to move classes due to other obligations they always help work around my schedule and make sure we can stick with Mr. Roman. I brought my 15 year old daughter to Sylvan after she had to take a few month off of her freshman…read moreyear of high school due to mono. I had home schooled her during her illness, but she still had to take her finals at school. I knew math was her weak area, and Algebra was her nemesis. After testing, it was revealed that my daughter had the math skills of a seventh grader. Yet, we only had three weeks to get her caught up with her Algebra lessons and prepare her for her final (even though it had been six months since she'd attended.) The staff at Sylvan was wonderful, sympathetic and understanding. The teachers were AMAZING. They taught my daughter different methods to learn the concepts. My daughter mentioned how weird one of the teachers was, whom sang his lessons to her. She said as she was taking her Algebra final at school, she found herself singing the songs in her head. The training was a success! The staff was as excited as we were that my daughter had passed! When we originally started going my daughter was leery about going. Now she asks for tutoring when she needs help. She's doing wonderfully! Worth every cent!
