Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos
Allison P.

Good experience overall! Olga took great care of our party of 8--service was smooth. My drink, The Knockout, lived up to its name--nice and strong. I had the Boom Boom shrimp tacos, which were tasty, and also tried a traditional shrimp taco--also solid. Would come back!

Large Frozen Strawberry Marg & a Corona

TL;DR Version: We really liked it The More In-Depth Review: My wife & I were visiting the area and trying to figure out what to do for dinner while driving down the strip. We were doing the alternating "No, YOU pick." when I got tired of that and just whipped into the parking lot. All that to say we basically knew nothing about this place before and had 0 pre-conceived notions. Seating: We were seated right away; 0 wait. The atmosphere was festive, but not too loud. Our server, Leroy, came by quickly to introduce himself and take our drink order. I asked for the standard Corona and my wife got the frozen strawberry margarita. The frozen marg was actually VERY good. Service: Leroy was an AWESOME server for us. Fantastic attitude and made very good (and slightly unexpected) recommendations on the food. My wife ordered the Taco Salad (yes, standard fare) and I ended up going with the Street Corn Elote Tacos. I tried to customize how I wanted it, but Leroy emphatically encouraged me to just go with them as they are, including the grits as as side. I hate grits, but the response I received was "Trust Leroy". Ok, I will trust Leroy. Food: I will never doubt Leroy. That guys was 100% right. The tacos were incredible. The grits were very good as well. Great taste for all of it. Conclusion: This location of Cactus Cantina was a great stop for us. If/when we are back in the area, we are highly likely to stop again.

Salsa

The service was horrible . Had wait time Over 30 mins . Food took 45 mins to be at the table . The food had no flavor and the steak tasted like it was roasted in crockpot . The beans were gross . The only good thing was the salsa

Nice little "Tex Mex" place. Although, I think I'm the only Texan thing in this place. Great service, very cordial and efficient hostess and waitresses. The food is reasonably priced and tastes great.

Super large burrito and margarita, the size of a small child's head!!

Excellent food, especially the margaritas that are the size of a child's head and the fajitas that come in a pineapple bowl with pineapple in the fajita mix!! Wait time is about 20 to 30 minutes on busy week like spring break but worth it!

Street corn guacamole

Great food. Large portions. Server was very nice. Food came out fast, correct, and hot.

Best Mexican food ever. The street corn elote tacos are amazing. My husband also loves the bang bang shrimp tacos.

There are five Cactus Cantina locations on the Gulf Coast, one in my hometown of Gulf Shores, two…read morein Orange Beach, one in Fairhope and the one I recently visited for the first time in Foley, AL. that makes 3 out of five for me. There are an additional two locations in Pensacola, FL. The place is clean, spacious an comfortable and the people are really friendly and work hard to make you happy, so love that! Before we talk about the food, I'm always hestant to be overly critical on Mexican restaurants because I've spent a lot of time across Mexico and lived in the US Mexican food capital of L.A. but here goes. The first thing is the chips & salsa, if they get that wrong then it may be a bad sign, but they nailed that one. The salsa was hearty and nicely spiced and the chips were light, non-greast and nice and crisp, so good start. Our server was Juan and he worked really hard for our group of 19 and did it with a smile and great disposition, way to go Juan. Big shout outs too for Max, she made sure we had our tables set up and checked on us regularly and to the awesome Jason, who was at the bar and also checked on us attentively! Once our orders were in the food came out hot and nice and quick. I had the burrito and taco with black beans and also had some guacamole which was quite good. The burrito and taco were the American take and was okay, but that is what's expected at the majority of Mexican restaurants in the area. They don't claim to be authentic-style Mexican, and they're not, but they do a nice job of the expected fare. There's a nice happy hour every day with $2 draft beers, $4 well drinks & tequila shots and 8 ounce house wines are $3 per glass. There's also daily food specials that are great deals. Bottom line: I would return here because the atmosphere and people make it a good dining experience. Recommended https://www.mycactuscantina.com/ https://facebook.com/100064076563672/
