Got a text the next day letting me know it was ready and the price would be a bit different than originally quoted due to the rear wheel being on hub drive (not originally noted upon drop off). OK, so we chose this place cause it was closest to our hotel, but man, it proved to be a winner…read more The customer service was great, from asking us what kind of riding we wanted to do for our 2 hour rental, to getting down to the nitty gritty with detailed maps, all the way to setting up each of our bikes to match each of our body sizes perfectly. A full tutorial on the bikes --- in our case, a couple of like-new electric Aventon Level 3s --- came afterward, so we knew exactly what we were getting onto (and into). The bikes were flawless; nicely equipped (brake lights, hydraulic brakes, plenty of power) comfortable and well built, and our ride down Indian Bend Wash was really good fun, and a great way to see some of the hidden parts of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. The bikes came with helmets and locks too, and the guys even offered us waters. PedalJetz is a compact outfit, but it's well set-up, with modern equipment and qualified techs, and as a bonus, it's situated pretty close to the aforementioned bike trail. And even after I had a question about the billing a few days later, they got right back to me, so, yea. I do wish they had a bigger selection of smaller bikes, and the website's a bit vague on what you can rent, but that's really just a nitpick -- I'd totally recommend them.

I had to wait a couple weeks for the appointment and right before, they called and canceled. This was super crappy since I had made the appointment due to extreme pain and numbness during riding and I really needed help. After they canceled, they never called to reschedule or follow up. This month, I reserved a bike rental on October 3. I needed the rental for a bike race coming up in November. About two weeks later, they canceled my reservation with no explanation via email. I responded to the email with the request to call me as soon as possible, but never heard back from them after several days. I had to call and found out that they had sold the bike I was going to rent and they have no other bikes available. Now, I am stuck in a lurch with no bike for an upcoming race. Flakes!!!!!

On a Tuesday, I called the Chandler location (spoke to Nick) and was quoted a "sale" price of $450 for a specific bicycle. When I arrived an hour later, Nick says that the price tag of $450 was a mistake. He refused to honor the price. Just a few days later, I found another bike listed on their website on "sale". I called the Ahwatukee location to confirm availability, only to be told by Thomas that the online price was incorrect and would not be honored. This happened twice in one week, at two different locations, with two different employees, and two different bikes. That's not a one-time error -- it's a pattern. Whether it's intentional or just sloppy, it feels like classic bait-and-switch behavior. I did end up purchasing a different bike from them out of necessity, but I absolutely would not recommend this store to anyone. There are plenty of other bike shops that are more honest and reliable with their pricing. Shop elsewhere.

Ray went above and beyond to make it happen. He tracked down the parts we needed, kept me updated every step of the way when shipping delays popped up, and made sure there were never any surprises. He showed up exactly when he said he would, was incredibly responsive and friendly throughout the entire process, and did an excellent job on every bike. It's hard to find someone who combines great communication, reliability, and quality workmanship, but Ray absolutely does. I used to take our bikes down the road to a local bike shop but I felt like they were constantly needing repair and it was both expensive and time consuming to get them over there. But then I found Stay True Cyclery! I found them here on Yelp and decided to give them a call. Ray, the owner, was very easy to coordinate with and came with supplies to our home to fix the bikes. He was friendly and efficient and got our bikes up and running. One of the bikes had a deep valve and he had to order the tubes but he came the next week and installed them. It was an awesome experience! Before Ray, I didn't know I could have someone come to our house and get us all taken care of but now that I know, he will be our go to for life!
