Fortunately, I did not experience the same issues as other reviewers. I live in a new neighborhood in Uxbridge MA and Cabral was installing irrigation for a neighbor. I called the phone number on their truck and Kenny came over to provide a quote. Cabral is a preferred partner with the neighborhood builder, so Kenny coordinated with the builder to ensure irrigation install before my yard was raked and hydro-seeded. There was an issue caused by the landscaping team while raking. Kenny's team quick fixed the issue. Customer service, work quality and professionalism seems the be Cabral's best traits. read more

Let me offer a suggestion. When you are driving through town in a company vehicle, you represent that company and your actions.represent that company. When you drive like a jerk, I literally would never use your company and franky can understand why you have 1.5 star reviews here Another hint, when an ambulance has its flashers on, most drivers will pull over and then proceed to pull back when the emergency vehicle has passed. Oh no, not this driver in his Cabral Irrigation Inc truck. He just stuck to the ambulances tail and then passed or tried to pass every vehicle that had pulled over. I guess his needs were far more important than any one else on the road. He also was not trying to follow the ambulance but to pass other drivers, Also, when he stopped at the lights on Bolton Street, he glanced over at my car with a pugnacious "I don't give a f&&*" look on his face smoking a butt. I do NOT suggest hiring them to plow for you if you don't want your cars getting hit by their truck. I was pulling in to a parking lot before snow had even started (not icy whatsoever) when one of their drivers swung a turn so wide to leave the parking lot that I had to immediately maneuver out of their way to avoid a collision. The next day after snow fell and one of their trucks was plowing, I watched as one came extremely close to my parked car to the point where I expected them to hit my front while plowing. If you see any Cabral F150s please give them a wide berth for your own sake. read more

No show. No call. Use someone else! I had used Cabral a couple times for annual system maintenance. Those went fine. This year, I called to arrange for my backflow test. They told me they could be to my home "after 3:00pm", to which I agreed. I rushed home to be there in time, arriving around 2:50pm. (the water was turned off and I needed to turn it on) I waited and waited. I called the office around 4:30, leaving a message that wasn't returned. By 5:00, I gave up and assumed they weren't coming. I called the next day to find out what happened (I still needed the test done), leaving another message. This message also went unreturned. Fine - don't call me back. I'm done with you. read more

Turned my system on and discovered a broken PVC pipe in one of the zones. They scheduled a date to repair the broken pipe 3 weeks out. When the repair date came about, they cancelled/no showed due to "equipment issues". Tried to re-schedule the repair and got the run around and no call back. Go some where else, you can do better. read more

Past service has been great. However, today they were almost 2 hours late without a phone call. That's unacceptable! We understand that some appointments take longer than others, but please teach your techs to call when they are running late. Our time is valuable as well. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Sandy after a scheduling mix up on Cabral's part. She did not offer any apology for missing my scheduled 2-hour appointment (that I missed work for) and when I told her I did not want to continue working with Cabral she hung up on me after telling me she "didn't even have the time to deal with" me. read more

We bought this house a year ago, and the former owner used Cabral for installation in 2011. So when we broke a sprinkler pipe underground with a shovel when planting, we called for them for repair. (Before that, we read the bad reviews and were concerned, but both the former owner and our current neighbor, a realtor in this area, who also uses Cabral, assured us that they have been nothing but pleased with Cabral over the years. So we took a chance.) James came out, and was topnotch professional, friendly, very informative and educational instructing us how things work and what to do/not do. He could have been done in 15 minutes, but he stayed on to help us chart where the sprinkler heads and watering zones are. A+++ and we look forward to their care of our grounds in future. Sandra and the owner (husband?) are very nice to work with. They have been very helpful and pleasant. The guy they send over to our house is a different story. I get a strong sense that he feels resentful or put out anytime he has to do more than push buttons on the controller. One time, when I asked a question, he went out of his way to word his response and have an attitude so that I would feel stupid. Because of him, I will not use this company in the future. read more

We moved from Upton to Bolton where our home had existing sprinkler system. We've been here two years. The gentleman who did the startups and shutdowns was really polite. The front office (Sandy) is another story. Upon startup a couple of weeks ago, the technician said he didn't need to replace anything. When we got the bill, there's a charge for a replacement sprinkler + the standard startup charge. That's where Sandy comes in. She defends the valve charge and chose not to give this subscribed customer the benefit of the doubt. When I called back and emailed one week later because one zone ran day and night and would not shut off (turning the side yard into quicksand and burning out the main parts of the grass), we had no option to turn off all water to the outside. After calls and an email to Sandy begging for her team to come fix the problem, here we are close to a week later and they have not responded to voicemails and an email. We contacted another company out of Fitchburg (SI) who solved the problem immediately today. They now have our business FOR GOOD. If you are looking for a lack of integrity and a vanishing act at the point of need, Cabral is definitely an excellent choice. As for us, we will never do business with or recommend Cabral Irrigation to anyone. read more

They would not return our calls after we asked them to come back and fix the irrigation problem that they created from previous work they had done. It was urgent because we had just paid thousands of dollars for a new seeded lawn and needed the lawn to be watered. The landscaper who had referred us to him also called him. We ended up paying an additional $80 for Tuff Unlimitwd to do the work. read more

Cabral Irritation damaged our septic system while installing a neighbors sprinkler system and then tried to cover the damage with a rock. Not sure why their guys were working two feet over onto our property, but hey that's kids today right? The damage came to a minor cost of $1,200. Pocket change for most, right? During the very first conversation with CI, we were promised that an insurance claim would be opened and that we would not even see a bill from the septic company that came out to fix the problem. Two months and five notices from the septic company later, the bill had not been paid and had accrued almost $20.00 in late charges. Repeated calls and emails went unanswered as we got involved (exactly - we shouldn't have had to!) to try to get the septic company paid. Finally, a far less than friendly message left with the owner resulted in a call back the next day from an office assistant who "didn't have internet access" to help us. What year is it? Nevertheless, she promised that CI would pay the bill that day. You guessed it - they didn't. Only paid a portion. Paid the rest the following day after we followed up with them AGAIN. I called and set up an appointment for turn on service and had to wait several weeks for them to come. At the time I set the appointment I asked the office to have the system inspected and also I had 2 broken sprinkler heads that my plow company dug up in the winter. She stated he would take care of all of it when he came. BUT when he came...the worker was VERY upset that he had to do ANY repairs he stated he was not informed of this and cursed loudly...then said he was totally sick of this sh*t...and was not going to do it! We said ok, we'll get another company (we were actually afraid that if we questioned this decision at all...he might get physical!)... He did fix and get the system working but he was NOT happy..I dont believe a customer of several years should have to put up with his outburst and swearing! read more

To be fair they've done a good job in the past but this year they have an on-line scheduling system where you can schedule service. Great! Friday at 2:00 PM I made the appointment for the following Monday. I received a confirmation by email. I re-arranged my Monday morning schedule to take off from work so I could be here. Sunday I receive another reminder email that they will be here first thing Monday. So imagine my surprise when I get a phone call Monday morning at the time they were supposed to be here saying that they didn't get the appointment in time and they will have to reschedule. I guess no one there checks their appointment on Friday - or the weekend - although their system has no trouble sending out confirmations and reminders during those times. read more

Just used them this week to repair a leaking Rainbird valve box and reconfigure our 4 zone lawn sprinkler system. Responsive service, hard working, knowledgable technicians. Kenny Cabral is very hand-on and professional. He gave me a free estimate and was reachable by phone or email for my questions. I have used them for 4 years for our sprinkler winterization but this was my first repair/installation. I will definitely use them again. read more

I would stay away from this company! Their employees have no idea what they are doing and the people who answer the phones have no customer service skills. I had this company install my irrigation system several years ago. In the beginning everything was fine. The service however has declined considerably over the last 5 years or so. I was just told I have to have what will be my third backflow valve replaced at a cost of over $400. It is cracked and leaking. I called the office and spoke to Sandy. I questioned her as to why this keeps happening. As I mentioned, this will be the 3rd valve to be replaced in six years. She said it was my fault for shutting the system down too late. I normally shut the system down sometime within the first two weeks of November. Long before the ground freezes and the temps dip down to the 30s. I wasn't happy with the flippant sarcastic tone in which I was spoken to and decided to call a different irrigation company to get another estimate. I do indeed need another valve and found out the reason why it cracked was because the system was not properly shut down in the fall. Apparently water was left in the line which froze and cracked the valve. I always wondered why the shutdown of my system only took about 10 minutes. Unfortunately now I know why and will NEVER use them again! read more

I've had a awful experience with this company from day one. First, I wasn't happy with how they laid out the sprinklers. When I Initially saw the layout of the sprinkler I insisted that a particular area on the property wouldn't get sufficient watering because of how my garden was laid out. They ignored my concerns when they installed it. I further brought up the issues, after the installation and still ignored it. The installation itself was a mess. They left my yard in a horrible state. Even some of their piping wasn't deep enough that you can literally see part of the pipe from the ground (when it's suppose to be 6" down). Most of the time they don't return phone calls/ emails. The equipment they use breaks within less than a year and forget about their warrantee because they won't return your phone call (especially when their stuff breaks; the turn on/off dials to the irrigation is already rusty in less than a year). I think they just want the warrantee to expire before they come out, which is why they never responded to my phone calls/emails! If I can go back in time, I WISH I had picked a better irrigation company. I'll even pay more for a better company. This company is a rip off and a big headache you don't need. If I can give them zero stars I would. read more
