Coat hooks and a small shelf are conveniently by the door. The room has a small microwave that was clean and a small fridge. Both worked well. Plugs and USB ports on both sides of the bed and at work station. Large flat screen TV. Plenty of lights. Bathroom amenities are multi-use products and although they are Dove brand bottles, as a consumer of these products I believe they are being refilled with inferior products. Just mho based on smell, texture and feel. Two sets of towels, tissues, plenty of TP. Plenty of hot water and the shower head has 3 spray options. Plenty of vanity space. Breakfast on a Monday included scrambled eggs, omlettes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, packet oatmeal, cold cereal, bagels, bread to toast, muffins, cinnamon buns, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee and tea. The area was kept very clean and well stocked. Seating area is clean and comfortable. Weather channel on the TV. Ice machines are next to the elevator on each level. Guest amenities include a hot tub. Train whistles and guests arriving around midnight were easily heard from our room. A room receipt was slipped under our door in the morning. Free parking around buulding. Luggage carts available in the vestibule. Shopping and restaurants are just a few minutes away by car. Gas station right next door. Close to the highway.

Four luggage carts are located in the hotel vestibule in a small area to the left. Outdoor entrances, other than the main entrance, require a room key to enter the building. Reception and the lobby make a lovely first impression. It's a large area that feels both open and cozy. We book thru the Bonvoy app and are able to check-in remotely with our 'eta' so staff are ready. All staff we met were personable and friendly. Our King bedroom was located on the ground floor. I love that the room has 'wood' floors. So much easier to keep clean imho. The room was a good size with a desk/work station, small TV, dresser and a space to lay your open suitcase or use as a seat with storage space below. The closet is deep with quality hangers, an iron & board and a luggage rack. I really appreciate both the luggage rack and the flat open furniture surface for luggage. Two travelers, two suitcases. It's the small things that make travel more enjoyable. There's also a hook and a shelf outside the closet for small luggage and a jacket or two. The blackout curtains did their job as expected. The sheets were crisp. Pillows are feather. You can request a feather free room when reserving on the app. There is a 'notes' area before you 'reserve' the room. Heat/AC control is on the wall near the closet. An area in the room vestibule holds a small fridge, coffee service and microwave. Both the coffee maker and microwave were clean. Bedside table had four plugs for your electronics and a low shelf for a small bag. The bathroom is also a good size with large walk-in shower and plenty of vanity counter space. There are three hooks in there too! Towels for three were good quality, soft and absorbant. Multi-use personal care items are mounted in the shower stall and there is a large shelf in the stall for your personal items. The handle to turn on water is near the stall entrance which is great because you can adjust the water temperature before stepping into the shower. Pressure was great, water temp plenty hot and it drained very well. Breakfast was also excellent. Staff were constantly keeping an eye on messes being made by guests (pro tip: the sugar goes *in* the coffee cup) and restocking. The cereals, hot & cold are grouped with milk, yogurts, fresh and canned fruits, sugar, spices, etc., etc. The best cereal set-up I've seen in a while. Two other breakfast sections include hot items (eggs, turkey sausage) plus add ins like hot sauce and grated cheese, etc., and a toaster items section including bagels, english muffins and scones plus all the expected add ons like jelly, cream cheese, etc. The sectioned display areas really help with the flow of guests at the buffet. The toaster worked great. The breakfast dining area is large, sunny and clean. Lots of space for guests of different sized parties. One TV is on news type programming all day and night. The coffee station seems to be available all day and includes tea and cocoa. A small gym is available for guests use as is a small indoor pool. Both require a room key for entry. The pool has a handicap lift. At the time of this review (June 2025) this is absolutely a comfortable, safe place to stay. A good restaurant is right next door. A shopping 'mart' (you know the one) and fuel are up the road a few blocks.

Rating: 4 /5 This hotel is an award winning hotel, and I can see why. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor, ambience, and offerings were all wonderful. The rooms are as pictured, they are spacious and accessible. I would have given 5 stars, but for 2 reasons: 1. The bed was very firm. I do feel like most hotel beds are, but for an "award winning hotel" I was interested to see if the room were different, and they were not much different than any other comfort inn. 2. "Breakfast buffet": Again with this being an "award winning hotel" I was excited for a breakfast buffet that would be as good as the adjoining restaurant food we had the night prior. However, it was pretty standard and very small. They have 2 waffle irons( which most hotels have), they had the smallest platter of hot food I have seen. It was 1 dish with 3 sections. Powdered eggs with a garnish, red potatoes ( they were good though!), and very small thin slices of ham that was sitting in water. This dish that held the food was so small, only 1 person at a time could go up to it. You move down the line to a selection of cereals. A microwave to microwave instant oatmeal, a fridge with hard boiled eggs, milk choices, etc. coffee is from a machine. The breakfast area seating needs to be update as well. The chairs were very worn and for a family of four we had these 4 big chairs at a small table. If I was coming through the area and needed to stay here again, I would, but because of the breakfast and bed- I wouldn't go out of my way just to stay at this hotel, unfortunately.

Ice machine is located near the elevator on our floor. A hotel store in the lobby sells snacks and personal care items. The room was clean and warm (in Autumn). Bed is comfortable with feather pillows and a soft duvet. Towels are newer and nice quality. There is one overhead light at the room entrance and recessed lighting over the desk. Some soft strip lighting along the back wall worked well as a 'night light'. Bedside lamps and one floor lamp round out the in-room lighting. The window shade looks new and is looks very nice. The desk area is very narrow. A closet on that same wall holds wooden hangers, iron, board and foldable luggage rack. A microwave, mini-fridge, ice bucket, paper cups and TV are in/on a dresser across from the bed. A couch and coffee table are next to the bed. The bathroom is a good size with a shower/tub combination. I had to turn the water on as far as it would go and let it run a while to get a tepid shower in the evening. My SO's morning shower also took a while to warm up, but he did get a hot shower. Water pressure is good. Amenities like body lotion and shampoo are attaches to the wall in multi-use containers. The sink is deep and there is a good amount of counter space. A hook is on the back of the door. Extra TP and tissues on the shelf. At breakfast the juice machine only had flavored water at 6:30am and they were too sweet for my preference. OJ was added to the machine a bit later. The rehydrated scrambled eggs are what you normally find at a hotel breakfast. They also have hard boiled eggs, fruit, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, breads and cereals. A coffee station is in the lobby. Only coffee mate creamers, no milk or cream. Also cocoa and teas available. A very nice staff member was keeping busy restocking breakfast items, helping guests with questions and cleaning. The breakfast area furniture is showing wear but is sturdy. A morning news show was playing on the huge TV in that area during breakfast. I am told by reception the guest parking area is under video survelliance. The lot is to the side of the entrance with handicapped spots closest to the building and 'Diamond' level member parking next to that. More parking is available behind the building and in the adjoining mall parking lot where some big rigs were parked.

The entrance to the Inn is very welcoming and inviting with lamppost lines of light guiding you to a cute little narrow creek run along the left of the property. The grounds are well kept and fun to admire. The Inn is large and cozy. The suites are great accomodation for a couple or individual and they do have a larger suite for small families. Ample parking available and relaxation abound. The roommate rates are very affordable for all travelers and I have to say the breakfast is quite tasty! impeccable service and attention to detail. I will be staying here again.

I was here on a Friday night and I heard no funny business, so this this place is likely "more popular with out-of-towners." My room had a desk, chair, mini-fridge, ice bucket, two cups, two lamps, queen bed with two pillows, nightstand, television, dresser/entertainment center, 3/4-length mirror, and a clean private bathroom with a tile shower. I reviewed this property then, sharing some nostalgic memories of motels from the 1960s as a child. I once again chose this hotel based on its low price compared to other hotels in the area. I was once again greeted by Eileen, at the front desk. Like my previous visit, she was friendly and welcoming. My room was very comfortable with a nice amount of space to relax in. The king size bed had the sheets turned down and was very inviting for this weary traveler. I was able to tune into a variety of channels on the large, flat screen TV. The dresser that the TV sat on had some kind of spill that should have been cleaned prior to my stay. I used a damp washcloth to easily clean it so I know it was not a permanent stain. The bathroom was clean except for the bathtub mat, which appeared to be covered in dirty soap scum. It needed to be deep cleaned or replaced as I really didn't want to stand on it during my shower. I reported this to the front desk when I checked out so hopefully they took care of it for their next guests. Although the shower head was a water-conserving style from the 1970s, it had nice water pressure so I didn't feel the need to run around in the shower to get wet. The free breakfast included a very pleasant surprise. Along with all the usual cereals, toast, danish, fresh fruit, juices, etc. that you find at just about every motel, I was able to enjoy a fresh-made omelet with ham and vegetables of my choice. There were two small signs in my room that made me smile. One stated that if I forgot an essential toiletry that I could go to the front desk for a complimentary replacement. That is always appreciated. The other sign shows this hotel's commitment to our environment. In an effort to conserve water and energy resources, the towels and linens will be replaced every third day of your stay unless you would like service more frequently. I always thought it was such a waste to have all my towels replaced each day after just one use. Now that won't happen unless I request it. Although I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, I want to point out it is certainly not perfect. While this property first opened as a Holiday Inn in the 1960s and has been updated since then, it is showing its age. There were two different places in the hallway with buckets catching water leaks from the ceiling. However, for the price, you can't expect a gleaming facility like a five-star Hilton! Next time, I'm in Du Bois, I will be staying at this hotel. It is a good value for the money.
