Staff here were all very nice. Check-in was quick even with a line and one receptionist working. One elevator is available with stairs right next to the elevator. Ice machine is located near the elevator on our floor. A hotel store in the lobby sells snacks and personal care items. The room was clean and warm (in Autumn). Bed is comfortable with feather pillows and a soft duvet. Towels are newer and nice quality. There is one overhead light at the room entrance and recessed lighting over the desk. Some soft strip lighting along the back wall worked well as a 'night light'. Bedside lamps and one floor lamp round out the in-room lighting. The window shade looks new and is looks very nice. The desk area is very narrow. A closet on that same wall holds wooden hangers, iron, board and foldable luggage rack. A microwave, mini-fridge, ice bucket, paper cups and TV are in/on a dresser across from the bed. A couch and coffee table are next to the bed. The bathroom is a good size with a shower/tub combination. I had to turn the water on as far as it would go and let it run a while to get a tepid shower in the evening. My SO's morning shower also took a while to warm up, but he did get a hot shower. Water pressure is good. Amenities like body lotion and shampoo are attaches to the wall in multi-use containers. The sink is deep and there is a good amount of counter space. A hook is on the back of the door. Extra TP and tissues on the shelf. At breakfast the juice machine only had flavored water at 6:30am and they were too sweet for my preference. OJ was added to the machine a bit later. The rehydrated scrambled eggs are what you normally find at a hotel breakfast. They also have hard boiled eggs, fruit, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, breads and cereals. A coffee station is in the lobby. Only coffee mate creamers, no milk or cream. Also cocoa and teas available. A very nice staff member was keeping busy restocking breakfast items, helping guests with questions and cleaning. The breakfast area furniture is showing wear but is sturdy. A morning news show was playing on the huge TV in that area during breakfast. I am told by reception the guest parking area is under video survelliance. The lot is to the side of the entrance with handicapped spots closest to the building and 'Diamond' level member parking next to that. More parking is available behind the building and in the adjoining mall parking lot where some big rigs were parked. read more

This place was fantastic! From the time we walked through the door the staff was friendly and helpful we came in early but they had no trouble accommodating an early check in. Our room was spacious and super clean and the bathroom was large and clean and loaded with quality soaps and beauty products. Before bed I got in a great workout in their wellnequipped fitness center than I splashed around in their bath water warm pool. In the morning I enjoyed the free continental breakfast which was quite a spread. I had eggs, toast, sausage and coffee but they also had oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, doughnuts, yogurt juice and milk and everything you could imagine for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay here nd I will definitely be back next time I need a room in DuBois, PA. read more

Place was clean-ish. Tub had mold on the caulk. Pool is said to be heated, but it's not. Hot tub was covered and not available for use. The clock in the room was on the wrong time... it's been weeks since the time change and only staff could get to it to fix it. Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of offerings and plenty of seating. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We probably would look for a different choice next time. read more

My travel app wasn't working so I checked in at the desk. She didn't tell me a rate or have me sign for the rate like every other place I go. Very disappointed!! We've stayed at many HI's throughout the country and this one may affect future selections. Got in late so ready to relax and the first thing that happened was the toilet didn't work. So we had to grab our stuff and move to another room. The clean duvet covers that I always look forward to were half covers that the duvets kept slipping out of. Once we settled into bed we realized that we could heard the tv in the next room as well as the people talking. Their voices woke us the next morning. And last but not least, the shower was awful. Booked a room almost a week in advance. My husband is disabled and needs a handicap accessible room. I booked a room with a king bed, sofa and mobility access to the bathroom. When we arrived we were given a double bed room (room #1)with no sofa. I went to the front desk and was told they had given my room to someone else. WHAT!?! So then she proceeded to tell me that she had the room I had booked. So we moved to room #2. Nope. No sofa. Well, I was then told the only room left was on the third floor it did not have an accessible bathroom but it did have a sofa. So I paid all this money for him not to be able to shower!?! But, We took that one. We had to, We had been driving for hours and needed sleep. I contacted Hilton and they told me I had not booked a room with a sofa. Guess what Hilton? I have the confirmation with the pictures of the room in my email. Then the desk clerk had the audacity to tell me I had no right to get upset with her. You are the face of Hilton when your behind that desk. Who else should I tell my issue to? Totally NOT the typical experience I have with Hilton. I only stay at Hilton when traveling. I like the cleanliness, and the customer service. This particular place fell short . But I can assure you if Hilton does not do something about this, I will never use Hilton again. I'm one person, losing my business will never impact their business. But my social media and word of mouth will. Do the right thing Hilton. Make this right. There were cards in my room that said 'making you happy , makes us happy'. Do you honor that or not? because this honors member, is NOT happy. Typing this review 15 minutes after checking in. We arrive and checked in at 6pm because I already checked in online BUT they do not have digital keys available but it was requested. As checking in the house keeper told the person at the front desk oh what room is that? She then responded oh let me give them a remote. We checked in and there was still a vacuum sitting in our room, at first I thought it was because they forgot it in the room but then we realized they wanted us to vacuum our own room. The floor was still dirty and had cereal all over the floor. Next best thing, they have no soap in the room so my wife went down to ask for soap and she was told "I ordered soap 2 months ago and I didn't get any." This makes me wonder what else are they not doing? Not washing the sheets because they don't have laundry detergent, not cleaning the rooms because they don't have cleaning supplies? read more

Stayed at this hotel last evening. After checking in we discovered room AC was not working and asked front desk for help. They said it was bad battery in wall control unit and they replaced battery and claimed unit was working, Room temp increased all night and never did cool. Wife wanted to use pool and exercise room but was told pool was cold because heater was broken and some exercise equipment was not working. Most hotels are now returning to serving hot breakfast either self or staff served but this location still only has a few packaged cold items and cereal available. Upon check-out informed desk of less than comfortable night with no AC. Staff response was just, oh, no I'm sorry or apology given. Overall, I would not recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary. read more

We were playing in the Pa State Senior League Baseball Championship in Debois, Pa and chose this hotel due to its location. We received such wonderful treatment from the entire staff and they let us use their lobby eating area to feed our hungry 13 players throughout our 5 days. I'm slightly conflicted. Hallways are very creepy and reminded me of the shining and the whole place seems dated and worn out. There is actually NO Elevator!! We had to carry our luggage up a long steep flight of stairs. There was a pretty awful smell in the room that didn't dissipate. But it was actually very clean. Beds are bathroom were spotless. Staff were nice. So I won't be back but it's also not awful and it's definitely not the staffs fault. Place just needs major renovation and new everything imo. read more

So this is the second time I have stayed here this year due to business purposes. The stay is fine, decently clean and rooms are ok. The tv is way out of date and the channels are pretty bad, not to mention operating the remote to get from one channel to the next is just horrible. They offer very little channels at all for the price of the stay. As for the room, it's fine except for the fact that they have never changed the shower curtain. It looks like it's building up mold at the bottom (see pics) and the tub floor is not in great shape at all. The staff is nice, no problems there, I'd just keep an eye on the cleanliness of the rooms before anyone stays here, especially during a pandemic that hasn't ended yet. read more

We got a great deal at this place. We found a coupon and thought we would try this hotel. I am glad we did. From check in to check out the staff was friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and there were even 2 complimentary bottles of water. The breakfast in the morning was hot and fresh and plentiful. The only downside was the noises heard from the hallway and the other rooms. Still will come back especially if I have another coupon. August 30, 2018. Same experience as before. The Hampton Inn in Dubois, PA is a dump and poorly managed. NASTY NASTY!!! The cleanliness and quality of service qualifies for a rate of $29.00, not the $100+ the hotel charges. This place does not meet the minimum qualification for a Hampton Inn, or any decent and honest establishment. My experiences upon checking in: Room #1: There was garbage under the mattress--old candies, balled up papers, tissues. I went back to the front desk to complain. The woman manning the desk showed no concern for my situation and replied, "What do you want me to do?" How about show me another room? Room #2: I was taken to a nonsmoking room that reeked of smoke. Back to the front desk. I again complained and the same woman stated, "Well, I can't keep looking for rooms for you. They're all the same." I persisted. Room #3: The bed comforter had a huge red stain on it. Strike three. I left and went down the road to a Marriott, which was clean with friendly staff. I pursued my complaint with Hilton, through its Hilton Rewards customer service and Hilton's corporate guest services. Each time I was told that the general manager of the DuBois Hampton Inn would contact me. She never did. When I asked for the contact info for the regional manager, I was given the runaround. As a Hilton Silver member, I have stayed at several Hampton Inns. Most have been fine; none have been completely disgusting--in cleanliness and employee attitude. Since no one seems to be concerned in management, I decided to cancel a future five-day stay with Hilton. read more

Great bed Thoughtful nice things for customers (snacks & tampons!) Great front desk customer service. On a long drive we were hoping to take a day or two to camp but realized our timeline was tighter than we wanted so we thought maybe finding a hotel with a pool could feel like a mini vacation even though it only be for 24 hours. Found their place on yelp and while driving booked online for a good price that we were really comfortable with. Got in pretty late but there were still cookies and coffee in case we wanted it in the front lobby candy by the desk and luckily free tampons in the bathroom. (Early! surprise! ) The bed was super comfortable and the room was nice sized good amenities nothing super fancy or luxurious but all well above craptastic. Breakfast was rad: waffles hard boil eggs continental Bready things lots of coffee and THeN the piece de resistance we got to spend an hour in the hot tub and pool. Hampton Inn is one of my top choices for hotels while on the road. It's more expensive than Motel 6 or Super 8, but so much better. This one, though, didn't quite live up to the usual Hampton Inn standards. It seemed like the place was maintained by someone compelled to fix things instead of replace them. For example, apparently upon discovering that they'd installed the curved shower curtain rod crooked, they didn't remove and re-install it, they just sunk screws into the pole at each end so guests could hook the shower curtain over to have it stay in place. Similarly, it looked like someone had ripped the privacy lock off the door at some point, and to repair it they diligently re-assembled that piece of the door with wood glue, then re-installed the lock. This is still probably better than the other interstate motels in DuBois, but not quite as polished as i expect a Hampton Inn to be. read more

My wife and I decided to drive from NYC to Michigan to introduce our newborn to her grandparents, and while we usually fly, the length of our trip made more sense to drive this time. Without a baby, you're looking at a good 12 hours door to door. Factor in a 6-week old, feeding schedules, diaper changes, and fussiness starting after 6 hours being stuck in a car seat and you're going to want to break that trip up a little! We decided to book into a hotel near the halfway mark of the trip, which is approximately DuBois, PA (halfway time-based, not mileage, as it takes years to get out of NYC...). We choose the Hampton Inn based on a recommendation of someone who often stops here on that NYC-Michigan I-80 route. We booked only about 4 days in advance and got a very reasonable rate for a king bed. The area where the hotel is located has several nearby amenities, including a Walmart down the street (with a Red Lobster in the same lot), several fast food spots (it was late and we were starving, so we hit up Wendy's), and a small mall. The hotel was fantastic. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and made sure to remind us of options we had for staying the night with a child (they offer pack and plays if you need one). The room was spotless and spacious, the bed comfy, and there was complimentary bottled water awaiting us. This was nice since we had depleted our stash by the time we got to the hotel and hadn't thought to stop by a convenience store. There is free tea/coffee and fruit available 24 hours a day, and breakfast is on the house in the morning. Typical commuter hotel fare, with scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, waffles, cereals, pastries, etc. Free wifi and parking are included. The only issue we had was a slow-draining bathroom sink. I don't get it, but I feel like that's such a common thing whenever I stay in a hotel that I come to expect it! There's an indoor pool which looked nice, but we didn't have time to jump in. Perhaps on the return trip, since I will absolutely make this my go-to hotel stop on this drive! read more

So we booked a room at the Fairfield Inn right down the road. When we were on the way the hotel called and said they were overbooked and they got us a room at the Hampton Inn. Being a marriot snob I was not happy to have to stay somewhere else... Then we arrived... This was hands down the cleanest road side hotel we have ever stayed in. I was shocked I assumed it was brand new. I was wrong it was 20 something years old. This is the place to stay on route 80. The staff was incredible and pleasant. Job well done please keep it up. This is a pretty typical Hampton Inn. I was there one night. Nice clean room with comfortable bed. Both check in and check out were lackluster but got the job done. I heard a couple of guests complaining about slow premium internet but I was fine with standard internet. Breakfast was ok but the room is small. In order to fit as many guests as possible, tables are squeezed together. This requires squeezing between tables and chairs while offering apologies. read more

This Hampton Inn location has definitely been updated recently. I was very pleasantly surprised when I stayed here back in October. So much so, that I booked it again twice since then when working as much as an hour away in northern PA. Everything is crisp, clean, well maintained, and beautiful! My room had gorgeous furniture and fixtures, the bed was comfortable, and the size was generous. The location is very good, considering most of the area towns have zero restaurants or shopping. The front desk attendant had a list of local restaurants, with hand written notes and helpful tips. One con was rotten fruit in the lobby. I only mention it because I found moldy oranges on 3 separate occasions. All-in-all I'm looking forward to my return visits. read more

The breakfast was very good with a very nice selection to choose from. There was even cut up tropical fresh fruit salad that included lots of pineapple, mango and guava. Blown away by the care the staff had for the guests from the moment you walk in. I was traveling alone with an infant and a 4 year old. Cindy, at the front desk was wonderful, even when I walked in with a screaming infant. My daughter was immediately given a coloring packet full of her favorite characters. They were also extremely helpful when I realized that I had forgotten paper plates and utensils, they immediately had some for me. Not to mention the complementary bottles of water already cold in your room. Every inch of the hotel that I saw was spotless. Tammy Meholick is the General Manager at the Hampton Inn- Dubois, Pa. She is one of the hardest working People I have ever met in 18 yrs of traveling thru-out the Country. She is very dedicated to her job and does a fantastic job at this Hotel. She deserves to be recognized for her hard work and dedication. The Owners of this Hotel need to applaud her and her Staff. I stay at this Hotel every week and most of the time I see Tammy here sometimes till very late at night making sure the Hotel she manages is up to par before leaving. Her Front Desk Staff & Breakfast Staff is second to none. Cindy, Capri, Mary, all of them do such a great job!! They literally go out of their way to serve the Guests here. Housekeeping is by far the best I have seen. Consistency of the room cleanliness is awesome! I personally think this is the best Hotel in the Country as far as hospitality. I travel often and try to stay at Hampton Inns as they are usually clean and have good service. I called today 8/6/17 in the afternoon to ask for their rate for tonight. I was quoted $109. I said while googling their number, Hotels.com and multiple other sites were showing the room for $84. The lady who answered the phone was rude, stated that if I want to book its $109 and thats the price. I asked her to match the online price and she refused. I stayed in this hotel many years ago, and when my travels took me back to DuBois last week I thought I'd get nostalgic and stay here again with my husband. I'm definitely glad I did! The rooms and lobby have recently been redone, the beds are comfortable for the most part and the internet is free. It was quiet in our room and overall clean. My husband and I have had experiences in other hotels that had bedbugs, so we know how to check a room and look for signs of the horrible pests. Our room was completely clear of any signs! We thoroughly searched the whole room including the couch and headboard, and I was very happy to give our room a clean bill of health. We arrived quite late in the evening (very close to the check-in cutoff time) and I called ahead to make sure we would still have our reservation. The person I spoke to was very accommodating and friendly and assured me my room would be here waiting for me. Check-in was super easy and quick. The only issue I found was that the air conditioner turns off and on throughout the night which woke me up a handful of times. We tried to set it to stay on since it was very hot the week of our stay but couldn't find a way to do that. I also thought that the continental breakfast could have had a wider selection of food, BUT to be fair I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to eating. They also have a pool and hot tub which I used in the past and enjoyed greatly, but I was unable to use it this time around because of my busy schedule. If you're going to stay in Dubois, this hotel is definitely an excellent choice! read more

The Internet is slooooooooow and they don't seem to care. The maids don't throw away trash when they clean the rooms. What's the point of a housekeeper if they don't do their jobs? Being that I travel a lot for work, I have become fans of certain hotels (mainly Hilton and Marriott hotels). Just call me a point wh***. It is ok... This hotel was decent. It was located in a strip mall, so we had options for dinner even though we arrived after 7p and most places were closed. But it was in a good location, appeared safe, staff was nice, rooms very clean.. Unfortunately, they still allow smoking in their rooms so two of the king sized rooms available that evening were smoking. After going in, we decided that the first one was too smoky. However, the second had a filtration system which allowed for the room to be a bit cleaner (free of less smoke). Since we were leaving early in the morning, we could deal with it. Next year when traveling again, we might stay there again. read more

I wrote a TripAdvisor review of this hotel a while back, but never thought to write on Yelp. However, after seeing the not-so-complimentary reviews, I had to add my comments here. We have been going to Hampton Inn DuBois for many years. We started stopping in that town, because my husband's family used to live there. But we make it our destination stop now, strictly because we love the Hampton Inn there. The people are fantastic, the beds, which have been updated, are a tired traveler's dream. They have been remodeling - I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the new lobby this trip! Fantastic. Though in all honestly, the old lobby was just fine. But what really sets this venue apart from others is that they go that extra mile. On Tuesdays, they still have a manager's reception. How many hotels, big or small, would go to the trouble of putting out food and beverages for their guests? Imagine...you may actually find a cake that was made in someone's kitchen - and you'll ask for the recipe for a delicious frosting that was so good. If you're lucky, as we were, you can talk to other guests who you would not meet in your day to day life. As I was leaving the reception, I felt as if I had been to a party, meeting interesting new people. This is a top notch hotel, a calm oasis from the highway stress you've encountered on your way. Yes, it is like other Hampton Inns, because it has to be for the franchise. It has the typical breakfast food, some days it is better than others, depending on the hot breakfast choice of the day. (cheese omelets are better than some of the other options, if you're interested) But when you need information, or you lose something, as my husband did, and everyone does their best to find it, and not just a cursory glance, you feel they care that you are staying with them. My husband's item was found, thank you very much, and we went happily along our way! By the way, the free internet is just fine. Hampton Inns are privately owned. This owner should be complimented. I hope, with the new fancier lobby, you still find room for a Christmas tree this year! read more

The hotel was nice. The staff was very kind and friendly. The only things we found wrong was the shower current had mold on it and two of our pillow cases had spots on them. Not sure if it was stains or what. Dried urine on the bottom of the toilet and the tub pop up valve didn't work. These are all easy fixes., however cleanliness is the top reason why people chose a hotel. Other than that the breakfast was good with healthy options. I would stay again but just look around in the room to confirm cleanliness before unpacking. Thanks so much for the good night sleep. read more
