When you call to complain, they indicate you have to pay the current and with the following bill you will receive the adjustment, which never comes. Instead, you get unsolicited calls later on, offering packages, to downgrade you from premium, which are your must see and used channels, to their extra or everything TV, at a modest cost of $25. They do not respect loyalty, although I have been a customer for more than 33 years, their customer service is horrendous, and their interest is all about promoting this specious program of making their cable service affordable, which is not. read more

Real crazy! This is one of the very few places where one can return a Optimum modem in person. I went on 9/9 Friday to return it around 4:30PM. The store supposed to be open till 6PM, but they close and there was a line of upset people outside. Then, I was not thinking and said I would try to take the train from Bronx to Brooklyn to return. That clearly didn't work out. I had to leave work early to return. I returned on 9/16 on Friday, but I was scared they would not open. Worst service! They sent 3 technicians and had routers changed 2x. Yet the wifi service still was dropping. I called to terminate my service after dealing with this issue for a straight month. I absolutely can't stand optimum/cablevision/altice whatever they're calling themselves now a days. I have been with them for over 20 years then switched to Verizon (love them). Now I went back to cable and had them for 6 years because that's my building ONLY carrier. I couldn't take my Verizon Fios with me or any other cable company. I decided to cut my cable because the price for the service was just getting ridiculously expensive. I got a smart tv and went to cabelvision to return the boxes. I wanted to hurl it at them. You can't get around the LONG LINES that don't ever MOVE! I left and called them instead they sent me a mailing label but they won't cancel my cable service only I'm keeping internet and phone (not by choice) until they receive the boxes in 2-3wks. My mother went there to exchange a cable box. She received the new box without the remote control ... REALLY? well i had to go back with her today. It wasn't a total nightmare but not exactly pleasant. The line was the size of the lines at the DMV - LONG. I can't imagine everyone was there to exchange a box, but who waits that long to pay a bill that you can pay online in seconds? The line moved fairly quickly considering the size of it. They had about 12 teller windows which helped moved it along quickly. The neighborhood is a little iffy when you get off the train, but on the bright side I now know how to get to New Horizons Shopping Center that has a TJ Maxx by train which I always see from the Cross Bronx Expressway. read more

To say that cablevision's customer service is horrible is an understatement. They are by far one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever come across. Their employees and technicians alike are nonchalant about their customer's time. If you're signing on to cablevision and you've scheduled an appointment to have your installation set up, be prepared to wait an entire day for that technician. And forget about calling customer service to ask about the whereabouts of the technician. Can you believe one of their representatives said he might be at DINNER? And this was already 2 and a half hours after my scheduled appointment time. Called customer service, was told that installer claimed that he came but I was not ready. Lies. Got call back from customer service rep. after I sent a flurry of emails that installer coming between 2-5. Got call at 2:10PM that he is on his way; no show at 6PM. No one answers phones or return calls. Customer service is nonexistent. Line keeps you on hold until you just give up. Email is the same, apologies and nothing else. I should have paid attention to all the horrible online reviews. Canceling service and going with FIOS. One black male technician installed Optimum May 11, 2020 and had an unprofessional and unpleasant attitude and I reported him via survey text. I cancelled my Optimum due to negative customer services regarding an outage issue Monday July 27 or Monday August 3, 2020. COO/President of Telecommunications Hakim B emailed me about Tropical Storm Isaias August 2020 and followed up on the email September 13, 2020. I still haven't received seen the adjustment in my October - December 2020 bills and documented who and when I called about an email regarding adjustment on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Linkedin. Also, my union admin coworkers have Verizon Fios for faster connectivity working remotely and I am having slower connectivity and had to work remotely before and after working hours. I called and spoke to Greg Anderson after 12:30PM to address my issues and cancellation reasons and he listened attentively. He or someone called me and I called back and no one picked. Too much back and forth and it frustrates even more. Per my conversation with Wally 2/1/2021 he informed me to return the modem and wifi router to the Bronx address and I won't have a bill. When I scheduled an installation at my new apartment between 11:00am and 2:00pm I didn't expect that it could interfere with an important meeting I had that evening, but I was wrong. I got a call at 1:00pm saying the technician would be arriving closer to 2:00pm. I said ok. At 2:00pm I got a call saying the technician would be there closer to 2:30pm, I said ok. At 2:30pm the dispatch called and said the technician will arrive sometime after 3:00pm and asked if that was ok with me. I said not really because I have to be someplace this evening. She apologized and repeated that he'd be there around or after 3:00pm. At 3:00pm I called the dispatch back and they apologized and said the technician will be there closer to 3:30pm. At 3:30pm I called again and they apologized again saying for sure, the technician will be there at 4:15pm... I said its too late I won't be home at 4:15 and I left for my appointment. At 4:15 I got a phone call on my cell phone from the technician who said he was at my door. I had to tell him I wasn't home. I think Cablevision contracts out to another company that does installations, but how is it ok to show up at an appointment over three hours later than the scheduled "window" for the appointment? Isn't my time valuable too? Do I really have to take an entire day off and plan nothing if the cable guy is supposed to arrive? This is really unacceptable. They either to get more technicians in the field or be more honest with their customers. On the phone everybody is pleasant and I've been a customer of Cablevision for many years and I'm happy with the service.. But if Cablevision isn't paying attention to my complaint, perhaps Verizon FiOs or TimeWarner Cable will actually show up when they are scheduled. read more

Dealing with Optimum (Cablevision) is horrendous. They clearly do not give you all the facts when trying to put your service on seasonal hold. Then when you turn the service back on they inform you that because you were on seasonal hold you have lost all promotions and you bill goes from $154 to $200. Then you lost dvr capabilities and that will cost an additional $17. They don't tell you that seasonal holds end on 3/31 and they will automatically turn your service back on even though you are not home and the customer service rep originally told you to just call when you return home. If I knew that I would have returned the equipment before using seasonal hold. This past week I returned my equipment because I am fed up with this service. The clerk asks me if I have an appointment. They have got to be kidding. They don't care. Will never use them again. They SUCK. read more

I cannot complain since I do not come here often, infact my last 3 visits were fairly quick. Don't know if maybe because I showed up early or my transaction did not need a lot of attention. The lines can be annoying to some, people just want to go in and out as soon as possible, I get it. But honestly if you want something to be done right, it takes patience. The are adding my windows, more tellers and decreasing wait time. They are providing much more services especially to those who do not have internet service and I think its great to no longer have to wait for a box. Plus they provide me internet cable at no extra charge. I don't have problems with my cable service (hope I do not jinx myself) and the tech that came to install was on time and did everything right plus gave me a few suggestions that have been very helpful with my internet. I'm overall a satisfied customer, may also due to the reason I just ended DirecTv and feel their the worst. Who knows, I just know I learned from that mistake and Cablevision seems to fit just right with me and the family. read more

But what really makes them bad is their customer service people and salespeople. The only time that Cablevision has cared about me the customer is only after I made the switch to VERIZON FIOS and now all they do is harass me to come back. Numerous requests to be taken off their calling list have failed as they ignore the rules of the "DO NOT CALL LIST". I would advise anyone thinking about installing Cablevision to reconsider.
