I found the van I was looking for on their website. I drove to Lawrence on Saturday afternoon to look at it. Test drive was great. It was in great condition - the interior was excellent, included Shelving i planned to repurpose, flooring was great, bulkhead was intact... Basically it was perfect for my needs. We got there late in the day, and weren't able to finish the paperwork until Monday. They said they'd deliver it Monday and we could finish the paperwork then. Monday, around 5pm, the salesman shows up with the van. Here's where things went to shit. He apologized, said he showed me the wrong one (it was the one I looked at online, evidenced by the Shelving in the back) but he didn't realize it until he was ready to bring it to me. So he brought me one I DIDN'T SEE, DIDN'T TEST DRIVE, said the price difference was too much to let me have the one I looked at. The one he brought me has a bit of body damage, flooring l have to replace, unusable interior in the cargo area, no bulkhead, cosmetic damage in the cab, bumper and running board damage, and twice the mileage. Having never found myself in this situation, I agreed to take the one he brought me. He assured me I got a great deal - it came with four (4) $400 each key fobs!! (I've since found out they're about $40 each), and gave me some dealership special worth $500 for free!! Bait and Switch much? Bought a new EV earlier this year from another Chevrolet dealership and the mapping and onstar went out recently and happened right around when a update came through. Called up dale willety because it was a closer dealership and I also had a recall. Told them the problem and the paperwork even stated the correct problems. When I went to pick it up(after hours). The problem wasn't fixed. They just downloaded a new program and didn't verify that it was fixed. The car salesperson was genuinely great to work with, but unfortunately everything went downhill once I needed repairs through the service center. They made it extremely difficult to use the warranty that their own dealership provides, and when they finally did the repair, they used the wrong part, which created even more issues and more repairs down the road. On top of that, they tried to nickel and dime me for services that another mechanic later confirmed were completely unnecessary. They even tried to charge me $250 just to scan the car, something most places do for free. Overall, the service department was frustrating, unhelpful, and costly. Had to pay a little over 1200 after paying for the original brake job, among other maintenance done at the time, within a few months to have them look over my truck that was making a sound after the brake parts were replaced when the problem was the brake parts were bad when that should have been covered with the warranty of the brake job in the first place. If my construction business will mess up a job we would have to pay out of pocket to fix repairs it doesn't come from the customer again they have guaranteed work!!!!! read more

I bought 7 brand new vehicles from them. I was a long time customer. Don't expect them to care about the customer. Shop here if you want to get your warranty scammed by them. Intentionally will not fix anything your warranty covers until you bring it back in for the same problem the 20th time right after your warranty expires. Then they magically "find the problem" after 20 times being sent in for the same problem while under warranty right when the warranty goes away and then wants to charge you THOUSANDS of dollars to repair it when it should have been repaired under the warranty. They sent me an official letter that there was a Dale Willey management decision I am no longer welcome back at the dealership because I said I was going to give them a bad review based on how they treated me. Worst experience imaginable. I purchased a Jeep Compass six months ago and opted for the extended warranty. My start/stop service has malfunctioned and forced stopped my jeep while driving on multiple occasions. When I took it in to be serviced, I was charged $200.00 and was informed that the auxiliary battery would need to be replaced prior to them looking into any other issues. Anything they can find to avoid costs being covered or prevent more serious issues, they have managed to do. Mind you, the aux battery was tested and functioning at Lawrence Battery just one day prior. Now, my check engine light is on with a code related to my throttle and the service department refuses to do anything to help until I replace a part that isn't covered under warranty... go figure. Horrible customer service at the Jeep dealership. Kept my Jeep the first time for 10 days due to lack of parts and employees calling off work. Next time around, called in for a repair and was told that it would be the following week before they could get me in because of Technicians calling in sick. What the??? So I take it in a week later, and they keep it 3 days for a simple repair. Did not offer a loaner, kept making excuses. Only made the repair after I talked to the manager and told him "employees calling in sick" is not the customers problem. So then he told me to call Ryan the district manager. Ha, what a joke. Called Ryan P. twice and left messages, and he did not call back until the 3rd day. He was rude, obnoxious and full of excuses. DONT DO IT! Very deceiving business practices. Bought a used car that looked and smelled great. One week later a strong smell took over the entire vehicle- it was a smoker's car. I spoke with the sales manager. Dale Willey knew this was a smoker's car, they cleaned and masked the smell to sell the car, and the smell returned. The sales manager's response was "a used car is a used car, you get what you pay for". I eventually paid $900 to have smoke mitigation performed and the smell is now completely gone. This is after Dale Willey told me "it is impossible to get rid of the smell". I asked Dale Willey to pay for the smoke mitigation. They refused to pay for it. I took my vehicle in for service and was told up front it would be $200 to diagnose which I agreed to but I was pretty sure I knew what was wrong so I went ahead with it. I was shocked when they got back to me with a repair estimate of $3,500 so I paid them the $200 and took my vehicle elsewhere. The other shop I ended up going to correctly diagnosed the problem which was what I thought it was and the repair cost was $1,400. I don't think Dale Willey's shop did any significant diagnostic work and just simply recommended replacing everything. I learned a $200 lesson but it could have been worse. For a GM dealer they behave much more akin to a Carhop or buy here-pay here lot. Purchased a GMC Denali, with the extended warranty. In less than 6 months the A/C Actuator stuck, the battery completely died, and the catalytic converter went out. Service required us to bring the SUV into the shop, where they charged us a diagnostic. The battery cost over $100 to replace (not covered under their extended warranty). The A/C Actuator was over $500 to replace (not covered under their extended warranty). The Catalytic converter they wouldn't provide a price over the phone, and instead insisted on forcing us to drive back into the shop so they could charge another diagnostic (despite the check engine light being on following the last diagnostic) and the service tech said "I don't know if it's covered, I'm not the warranty department". The Used Car Manager Steven Cain, when told of our debacle said, "if we replaced everything on our cars to make our customers happy, we'd go out of business". There you have it. The Used Car Manager said their profit model is based on sticking customers with whatever problems the cars on their lot have, and their customer service is more of a "not my problem" approach. Buyer beware. Horrible shady used car salesmen. Worthless customer service. No attention to detail in the service shop. No response from upper management or "corporate". I am only commenting on the service department and only for oil changes. I do not recommend Dale Willey for a simple oil change. The people are nice and helpful. But I waited for an hour and my car had not even gone in. I'd expect to drop off the car and come back later for mechanical work but when you schedule an oil change for the morning it shouldn't be long. If it takes two hours for an oil change, I expect to know upfront. I can go elsewhere, and will, for oil changes. After an hour I left without an oil change, so definitely go somewhere else. Tried again six months later. They now have a sign that says Express. Dropped off for a 7:30 oil change appointment. I was asked when I'd like to have it done. I said by noon would be fine. Four hours should be long enough, right? I wasn't going to wait this time. Stopped back at 1:15. Guess what? Not done. Seriously? So I waited. Ended up in the waiting room anyway. 20 minutes. $75.80 for just the oil. Not sure how much longer if I had asked for the tires to be rotated, which they need to be. Also, no report on anything. I don't know the condition of the brakes, battery or tires. These are things I've gotten used to elsewhere. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

I purchased my first vehicle here and had nothing but great service the entire time. From purchase to car maintenance. Absolutely loved it. We bought our second vehicle here and it's been terrible from purchase to car maintenance. We were lied to about the car we bought (the features we were informed it had). When we called back we were brushed off and told "sorry there's nothing we can do about it" from the manager. We went on and just had to let it go even though it wasn't what we wanted (we would have bought there but got a different model). Fast forward: I received an email on needing to come in for maintenance stating all of these things would come with the maintenance. Oil change, wipes change, air filter change, rotate tires, and a good 20 other things. When I came in for the service, Service said she had me down for an oil change. I said "yes but there's a big list of things that should be covered with the maintenance" so she asked if I wanted to tires rotated. I said "it should be covered with the maintenance". She said ok we will do it. She asked about the wiper blades and I proceeded to say "yes those should be covered as well". I was under a very clear assumption that these items were COVERED. And I used the term multiple times. Not one single time was I told that absolutely nothing is covered and it will be a out of pocket cost. Which is fine if that is the case but you have to tell someone that and be clear. It was completely avoided and never said. While waiting for my car to be done another person called me asking if I wanted to change the wiper blades. I said "it should be covered". He said he didn't want me paying out of pocket for them but he didn't know anything because someone else was doing my paperwork. But he never checked and put them on regardless. When I showed up to get my car I was informed of the cost. Which I followed with stating how it was all supposed to be covered and THEN was told that this was all out of pocket. As I told them what I perceived I was talked over, and cut off by the man I talked to earlier who belittled me on how he can pull up phone records to prove what was said. At this point I'm so frustrated with the lack of communication That I told them I'd be back to get my wallet from my car and was chased after and yelled at due to them thinking I was running off. Moral of the story, I've been a loyal customer for years now. Sent all family to this location. The communication, customer service, and absolute lack of consideration has ended my relationship with this dealership. Nothing was done the first time we were dissatisfied and nothing will happen with this. But I hope something will change for future people trying to get good service. This review is a little late due to the fact that I was there two weeks ago. I've never gotten my personal vehicle done just my professional vehicle. First of all this place has done very good work for me in the past and in the present. The appointment can get a little congested the times that you want to bring your car in or usually not available but they usually work with you to accommodate a time that works with you. The staff are very friendly so much to the point that they pretty much are good at remembering your name when you come and that's A rarity nowadays. They even have transportation services to take you home if you don't want to wait for your car to be repaired. This convenience is very nice on days when you don't wanna sit there and it may take longer than usual for your car to be fixed. The prices I can't really speak on too much because my company pays for whatever work needs to be done in my professional vehicle but I will be going there soon to get work done on my personal car so I will update this review as far as pricing is concerned and I'll see if my experience differs from when I had my work vehicle done. The main reason I will update it is to see if the good experience is based on the fact that I represent the company versus me representing myself in my personal car. We'll see read more

We gave this location a second chance after 10 years and still displeased with results. 10 years ago our vehicle we purchased from this location was in for routine maintenance and received vehicle back with damage. This time my new vehicle was taken in for boy repairs due to bumper damage and upon being told it was ready for pick up I discovered the bumper was painted a different shade not even similar to my vehicle. This was quickly noticed and without a doubt was clearly noticeable when the part was put on the vehicle. Not only was the color not correct there was also a 5" scratch made on the door of my vehicle that was not there. We bought a car from them, the day we bought it, it was cold and rainy, when a warm day came, less than a week later we find out the air conditioning it's not working, we live in FT Riley, but we make the drive again for their service department to take a look, they said they can't fix it, but since the cat it's still under warranty to take it to an authorized dealer. We take the car to the dealer, it turns out, that something had chewed the cables for the air conditioner, something that it's not covered under the warranty, yet we still had to pay for the diagnosis, it will take over $300.00 to fix, we send an email to Dale Willie again, to explain the situation and never heard back from them, so now we have a car that we have yet to make a payment on, and we already have to spend money to have it fix, by the cat the vehicle is about 2 years old, less than 35 thousand miles when we got it. read more

Went in for an oil change, scheduled was going to be under $60 but they did "extra" work and it was over $200. I was told it would be more, but not this much more. I showed the bill to others and they were shocked. They have had this work other places for at least half the cost. When I asked about washing my car, something my wonderful home town dealer does as a courtesy the worker gave me a couple of tokens for their car wash. I will not be going there again, I only went there because I was over for an oil change and haven't made it back to my home town dealer, who is going to get all of my business from now on. read more

Got a call back later that day, saying that they had discovered the problem: a broken right rear sensor and busted rear suspension air bags. When pressed further, Department manager admitted that the bags busted when they put the vehicle up on the lift (which of course wasn't their fault). When pressed further, service manager admitted that they did have access to a different lift that wouldn't have put undue pressure on air-ride system (but they didn't think to do that, so it wasn't their fault either).
