Hillside Colorado Cottages is such a perfect location to unwind and decompress; a great opportunity to unplug from all of your mobile devices. So, heads up here! If you're looking for a place where you will be guaranteed cell phone service, this most likely isn't the best option for you. If you truly want to "unplug" and decompress, without all the daily distractions, this is the place for you. My cottage was clean and quiet. I had beautiful views of the mountains. I also saw a family of deer at dusk, not too far from my cabin. I thought that Westcliffe was peaceful. Hillside is quieter.... Shhhh..... Perfect setting to go on your own spiritual retreat. This is exactly what I needed for what I've had going on in my life lately. I feel recharged. Looking forward to spending another evening at Hillside Colorado Cottages.

It was lovely to wake up to and such a nice change of scenery (and humidity) from STL. I am unsure of the name of the cottage we stayed in, but it had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This was perfect for the bridal party, as there were 4 of us. We had enough room to get ready in the living room with hair and makeup without feeling cramped. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. I recommend bringing disposable silverware, cups, and plates to save you time on dishes if you have a big party! The venue offered a lot of other cottages for the bride and groom, as well as the groomsmen. It was easy to hop from building to building. My favorite part was where cocktail hour was- it was under the willows (gorgeous) and offered shade and such a casual outdoorsy feeel. They also had lights hanging up and a couch. So cool. It was an intimate ceremony with great views. Everyone was so accommodating and lovely!! Thank you.

Everything we could want for the week was provided; the kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking and eating needs supplied - EXCEPT the food which you must bring to the cabin; to the laundry (YES there is a washer and dryer inside this cabin); to the bathroom with it's fully stocked towels and toiletries. There is also a grill with a table and chairs outside if you are in the mood for some outside cooking. It is so peaceful you may find you won't need the cable and wifi, but if you do, both are provided. Would recommend - will return!

This place is also very, very clean - they really put their attention on ensuring you feel safe staying in the space. Since we were in the family suite, we had our own private entrance, so we never disturbed other guests, or vice versa. It was a bit warm the weekend we were there, but there is a small window unit and some fans to help circulate air. Only drawback is that Westcliffe is a ranching-heavy community, so expect to smell field manure...depending on wind direction, you may not want to keep your windows open!

I contacted Barb the owner to ask for the wi-fi password and she emailed me back right away. The suite was so nice but the screen in the windows needed to be replaced and the one looked like it was going to fall out the window. Overall it was great with a beautiful view of the mountains. After long days of riding, it was a treat to relax in the beautiful garden, which gave the home such a peaceful and welcoming feel. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. What really stood out, though, were the hosts--they were warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Salida was just 5 minutes away yet the acreage surrounding the house felt like we were totally alone. Peaceful, serene and gorgeous. We hiked to Castle Gardens from the driveway and our dogs had all the space they wanted while running off leash. The owner was very friendly, easy to communicate with and gave us lots of ideas of what to do, where to eat and where to enjoy the outdoors. We're going back in the winter to ski Monarch!!!!

The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. And those clear plastic boxes for extra bedding? Pure organizational wizardry. Marie Kondo would weep. Cozy blankets made me consider quitting my job and becoming a professional blanket burrito. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. The Antero Hot Springs Cabins are run down and poorly maintained. The price that is charged for…read morethese cabins is extremely high for what you get. They appear to have been quaint at one time but they are not now. First, these cabins are not remote at all. They are located right next to each other and there is a house on the hill overlooking two of them. We could hear the people next to us talking while they were in the back of their cabin, and I'm sure that they could hear us. There really isn't much privacy. The hot springs fed hot tub was nice but it was not clean. Supposedly, the tubs are drained and cleaned after every guest stay. I highly doubt that ours was drained let alone cleaned. I spent the first 30 minutes skimming out leaves and debris from the surrounding trees and plants. The cabins are rustic. They are definitely not luxurious. The shower is very small and basic. It is so small and dirty that you will be thinking: "why bother?" Ours had mold in the grout. BTW, it takes almost 10 minutes for the water to get hot. I could give some more specifics but if you've read this far, I think you get the idea. If you're not concerned about having a lot of privacy and cleanliness etc, these may be worth a visit...but I think for the price, you can do a lot better. One more thing: there is a review on Yelp or Google about the owner's dogs bothering some guests. When my friend, who booked our stay, inquired about it, the owner or an employee named Jessica replied in a way as to suggest that there was no problem. However, when we got into the cabin and read some of the many signs and rules, one mentioned that if loose dogs come near the cabin to not feed them or let them into the cabin. It described the dogs as being "valley dogs." I suspect that they are the owners dogs. I could hear dogs barking in the residence on the property. They didn't bother us at all but it made me suspect that the owners are not being forthright about the issue that had been reported in the review.

The sunset view is spectacular! The amenities and decor are great. I would love to come back during the winter and stay a few nights. I love the contactless experience and we had no issues with check in. This cabin was missing a privacy screen on the side that faces the neighbors in the living room is about the only thing I would change. Definitely book this place you won't regret it. Spike buck is probably a better option to minimize road noise and the view from corner pocket looks way better!
