We then opted for the charcuterie plate, which was a perfect presentation of meats, cheese, jam, cornishons and toasted baguette. For mains, I had the Bison Short Ribs and the blending of flavors in this dish was delectable. The meat was very tender and served with a raisin chutney on top of the ribs, a butternut squash purée under the ribs, and a mint raita on the side. Savory and scrumptious! My husband had the scallops and Gnocchi, and our friends both had the NY Strip. All were perfectly cooked. We then had a delicious assortment of desserts. Tammy was a terrific waitress and made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance and service were awesome! Lauren was very responsive via text answering all my questions. She texted me access info so when we arrived, which ended up later than we planned, we were able to go right into our room. The beds and pillows were quite comfortable. Enough that I was asking where she got the pillows. We all slept well. The pups got me up in the night and I took them for a short walk. The temp outside was cool, so I opened the window to let in some of the night air. The shower was interesting with the slanted floor. I liked the sliding barn door for the bathroom. The retro decor is inviting. I wish we could have stayed longer. They have a coffee shop in the Rodeo Mercantile. I discovered this after my husband and daughter had popped out to a local bakery to get us breakfast sandwiches. If we stay again, I'll for sure get a latte. This suited our needs. Creede is pretty dead during the winter months, but I think it's absolutely worth the trip if you're into some irregular scenery. The rock formations are beautiful and bizarre, and provide some interesting photographic opportunities. Just be careful of mountain lions...they're a-plenty out there. :/

But it still has life in it and it is such a vintage place. The food was excellent. Vanessa at the front desk was also very helpful and gracious. The shuttle driver also was extremely nice. It was a blizzard. Had to chain up the shuttle to get the van up to Monarch ski area. But he did so without any issue. One of the staff members, Jason, even volunteered to dig out our Toyota 4-runner the night before we left. Promised to have it completely uncovered from snow and cleaned off before we left.

They also have been closed because of this but they keep taking reservations, they told me it was just for three days but I learned from the county clerks that the property is closed indefinitely. They have been struggling with their septic for ages and they get grandfathered in because money greases hands, if you go here you are drinking poop water beware.

I could hear every conversation in the room next door and since this room was near an exit and a stairwell, all I heard all night was door slamming. This was probably in some part due to the fact that the door wasn't flush to the door jamb. I could actually see out into the hallway the crack was so large. In the past, I would have highly recommended this hotel, but after this experience, I am hesitant to ever return from a cleanliness, noise or safety standpoint.
