Cabin 4 bathroom

This review is for the cabins only. I did not eat at the restaurant, although I heard it was very nice and had great food. There are 5 cabins, which are 2 bedrooms. We stayed in cabin 4, and we also saw the inside of cabin 5. The cabins were very clean and neat. They had just about everything we needed, a fully equipped kitchen (small microwave, small range/oven, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs, even wine glasses!), full size refrigerator, towels and toiletries, and two queen sized GREAT COMFY beds! There were also extras of things needed (such as trash bags, paper towels, and light bulbs, even, which we ironically needed when the bulb burned out in the bathroom). There was a small table and 4 chairs, a sofa bed (not as comfy as the regular beds) and two chairs out on the little deck area. The view from cabin 4 was great, I think probably the best of all of the cabins, in my personal opinion. It was quiet there and peaceful. There was some traffic from the restaurant but not a lot (and not bothersome). I really enjoyed sitting out on the deck area. (It would have been great if it also had a small table. We ate lunch outside but there was no table, so we just made due. No big deal for us adults, but more challenging with young kids.) Our cabin could have easily slept 6 people, with two in each bed. The only downside was that there was no electrical outlets in the bedrooms. That was a problem with dealing with a CPAP machine. Next time, we'd bring an extension cord, I suppose. Cabin 4 was a tight fit in the bedrooms, but we were able to move the bed over just enough to fit a pack-n-play into the room, next to the bed. The bathroom was very small - small enough that you could actually reach the sink while you were sitting on the toilet, but we did not have any problems. Cabin 5 had a larger bathroom than ours (and one bedroom had a small chest of drawers), but it appeared slightly more difficult to maneuver if there are any accessibility concerns. (There were also a lot more stairs to reach cabin 5 compared to some of the other cabins.) Also, the cabinets in cabin 5 were a little different, with no cabinet up high, where the dishes are typically kept. Everything was kept in lower cabinets. Cabin 5 did have outlets in the bedrooms, but the pull-out sofa could not pull out into a bed. There was not enough room for it to completely be pulled out due to the cabinets being in the way by maybe 6 inches or so. The sofa was too heavy to move, so not sure if it was turned sideways, if the bed could have been accessed. Therefore, it would be tough to sleep 6 people in cabin 5. Perhaps that is just a temporary issue with the cabinets that is going to change in the future and that issue will be resolved. Just in case you are wondering, there are no campfires allowed at these cabins. In other places I've visited in other areas of the state, I've stayed in cabins that were more like camping (with just a minimal bed, a table, chairs and electricity). I would say that this is more like having a hotel room, but it's still a basic cabin. The price was a little high for compared to I was looking for, but overall we were pleased with our experience there and if we needed a place to stay, would not hesitate to stay here again. Also, it should be noted that the staff was great! Very friendly. We did not have any problems during our stay that required us to contact the staff, but I'm sure they would have been helpful with whatever was needed.

Service and view are lovely but the price is too high for diner food. Family friendly for lunch. Not where I would take a date for dinner.

Outstanding food and service in a beautiful setting. As fine a restaurant as you'll find anywhere in Colorado. We dine there often.

I love this place. I owe a cabin close by and find time every year to drop by and enjoy the atmosphere and company.

Best restaurant in Westcliffe area. The Alpine Chicken is goood! You will not see a Sysco truck at this restaurant. Homemade everything!

I have battled with posting this, as times have been tough with Covid the last year and that this…read moreis a small town that depends on tourists to survive. I am not one who posts negatively without conscious (especially for local, family owned businesses)...That being said, we also need to make sure you know HONESTLY what comes with staying here, as you might also have 'needs' to fit your wallet. Then, YOU decide if it's worth the money, as it's not cheap to stay here. --Photos and reviews mention things that are no longer being offered and/or are misrepresented. There is NO BREAKFAST offered! --The entire room is in every photo. They are tiny, not small, not "cozy", not quaint--TINY! --There is NO SECURITY to the rooms. (No peek holes, no deadbolts, no chain/latches.) Yes, it's the 'small town of Westcliffe', but there are simple securities when staying at a hotel, that provide comfort (including state of mind) in addition to a courtyard. --When we saw a microwave in the courtyard, we thought "how lovely"...EXCEPT that this is the ONLY microwave available! (None in the rooms.) --They show cute, quaint beds in the rooms, and refer to things as "cozy". Cozy means soft, welcoming, warm, comfortable, right? That's NOT what these rooms are! The bed is EXTREMELY hard (we like firm-to-hard beds for our backs!), but the FLOOR would be more comfortable! The pillows were flat, ineffective and need to be replaced--especially with all of the bedding sales available, reasonable mattresses and pillows are not excessive requests. --When we walked by one courtyard window, we made an unexpected eye contact with the man shaving in the room! Extremely uncomfortable for all 3 of us, as there is SO LITTLE PRIVACY at the bathroom window! During our stay, the little bit of window privacy is BUBBLE WRAP TAPED TO THE GLASS and lace valances! But the windows open in and there is no side/upper window privacy. --We had business to do in this lovely, friendly town, so we decided to check out the Courtyard Country Inn, a week in advance, to make SURE it was all they represented. Here's what we saw. --The courtyard IS lovely and the couple who own it work hard at its appearance. --Their dogs are friendly and there are many beautiful birds in the garden. --They have media person who helps with bookings who will get back to you ASAP and try to work through your needs! --But the fact, that they wouldn't show us even ONE room (using 'Covid' and 'sold out', as an excuse in their actions) should have been an indicator as to their misrepresentations in their photos! Even from an open door and without entry, many places will still show rooms from the doorway of rooms, IF they care about customer satisfaction. --They seem to WANT to be that unique, cozy hotel in town. (They COULD be with some direction and help.) But when you prepay before you even arrive, and the 'due to Covid' non-contact check in, you really are backed to the wall if things AREN'T up to their representation! --You won't see any employees (to discuss resolutions) once you've arrived and paid, either. Something as simple as a note of follow up under the door (or a text) after your first nights stay, to make SURE you're happy, would speak loudly of a non-contact service. They don't even pick up your registration agreement until AFTER you check OUT. --So, just food for thought...If they're that concerned with Covid protocol, in a SERVICE INDUSTRY BUSINESS, they should either be accessible and masked up, OR not be open to the public. --Just KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK, what to TRULY AND HONESTLY expect for your money. This isn't a cheaply priced hotel. Courtyard Country Inn COULD provide that 'icing on the cake' of a lovely, friendly town...though unfortunately it DOESN'T.

The property has a beautiful butterfly garden, koi pond, and fire pit and all are welcome. Beyond these inviting features, the staff offer great recommendations on local eats and activities.
