I spoke with a fabulous associate (whose name is slipping my mind!) who was patient and knowledgeable. She explained some of the basics to me and made sure to tell me about the Brizo and Cambria lines that they carry (both of which I really like). At the time, I had very little to compare to this experience, but now that I've visited the competition down the road and the remodel expo this past weekend, I can't wait to head back to Robertson and make my first consultation appointment.

But after numerous unanswered phone calls & emails, and once getting through, delays and a raised price, I called Robertsons. In literally minutes, Rich e-mailed me an even better quote and said the installler could come measure Monday (this was Thursday, the other place said 3 weeks). After measuring, the countertop was manufactured and installed less than 2 weeks later. Rich was so nice and a joy to work with. LOVE the countertop! After coming up short in each wing of the mall, I went back to Kitchen Collection and the clerk I normally see in the store, Ida, asked me if I was looking for something specific since she noticed I was making my second stop into her store. I told her I wanted to get something for the kitchen for my fiance, but wasn't sure what that gift was yet. She asked what kind of things my fiance enjoyed doing, and I let her know that I was marrying someone that not only hated most things on God's Green Earth, but had virtually everything she needs already. Ida nodded, gave me a look as though she was ready to accept the challenge, and then gave me a tour of basically the entire store, explaining why she liked practically every item she sold. Not only was she informative, but she was also extremely sweet. I enjoyed the experience more than I should have, and was also impressed with how she handled the children of the customers she helped after giving me forty-some ideas to kick around. These kids were the bastard kids of Satan, but somehow she resisted to use the slew of kitchen utensils as weapons to banish the evil demons back to the depths of Hell from whence they came.

They didn't give me the lowest quote, but they seemed more knowledgeable and professional than the other contractors I had come out, so I went with DTB. We agreed on a price and they told me they'd be able to begin work early May 2024. That was not an ideal time for me as my wife and I had planned a vacation for then, but the house had to come first, so we canceled our vacation. By mid-May I hadn't heard anything from them so I started calling. I left voicemails and texts, but no one got back to me. I finally managed to get someone to answer the phone late in May, when they told me they'd been on vacation when they had agreed to do the work, and were just getting back to work. I was frustrated, but they said they'd be in touch with my by the end of that week with a new appointment. I never heard back from them. I've been calling, emailing and texting since. I haven't heard a word from anyone. I genuinely thought they died or went out of business, but their Yelp page updated this month, so that can't be the case! Now the problem at my house is worse than ever, and I have to find a new contractor. In short? Don't call DTB unless you love having them waste your time.

Our 25 year old kitchen was transformed into such a beautiful and modern space. Mindy really knows her stuff and will help you along the way with your plan. The installers were really top notch, were so precise and exacting with every measurement and they truly took pride in their craft. The trim work is beautiful. And they were really easy to be around which is important since you will be together for a couple weeks. Everyone who was in the house--cabinet installers, the plumber, the paint and plaster guys, the electrician--was really, really nice. There is so much to coordinate with the timing of a project like this and all the people who work behind the scenes like Bert, Dave and Bernie were extremely quick to respond to all of my calls and texts. We are so thrilled with the results.
