When I called ahead, the employee I spoke with couldn't answer my questions without repeatedly asking a colleague. They charge about $45 to mount the bindings (discounted from $115), even though both the skis and bindings were purchased there. In my experience, most shops mount bindings for free when both items are bought from them. The skis also had to be sent out (understandable) but then I would be paying for a service and unable to ski for about a week or so. I went to Blue Mountain and found their services to be cheaper and faster. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable--unlike my experience at Buckman's. I'll be going there from now on.

The helmet was unused and returned within two days, yet the front desk employee named Jane refused the return, claiming it was "used," which is simply not true. She also stated that goggles must have tags attached to be considered new -- however, the goggles were sold to us without tags in the first place, exactly as we received them from the store. If tags are required for returns, that policy should be clearly explained at purchase, not enforced retroactively. Jane repeatedly emphasized that she had "worked there for 15 years" in a condescending manner, dismissed our explanation, and was extremely rude throughout the interaction. The tone and treatment felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Between being sold items without tags and then being denied a return based on those same missing tags, this experience felt unfair and frustrating. I expected much better customer service from a store with Buckman's reputation.

One outgrew her kiddie bike and the other still needs training wheels. Prices were fair to market value plus we liked their selections. Just to clarify. The tune ups and the purchases for the bikes were separate occasions. Different teammates helped us but same excellent service. They also carry snowboarding/skiing gear and have off season sales! One lane road with pull off's to allow traffic to pass. All the way to the end is a turn around. Parking is just before this turn around. A small dock allows for kayaks and paddle boards to be put in the water, but the stairs down to the dock are not in good condition, so use caution There are several bike and hiking paths, but recent floods have closed some of the paths, so again, use care. It is interesting to see these canal Locks. So much commerce went up and down PA using canal's w/locks. To see one up close and personal, this is the spot to do it.
