However, if O & F are this sloppy and apathetic about firewood, it…read moreis reasonable to believe that they will have the same poor attitude with all of their business. O & F are cheaper than other firewood suppliers ...and there is a reason. If you order a cord, you will be lucky if you get ¾ of a cord, and they will fight you if you complain. It is very simple to measure a cord of firewood. The NIST defines it quite well and states that: "The "cord" is defined as the amount of wood contained in a space of 128 [cubic feet] when the wood is ranked and well stowed. The standard dimensions for a cord of wood are 4 ft (height) × 4 ft (width) × 8 ft (length) but wood may be stacked and measured in any configuration." You can confirm this here: https://www.nist.gov/system/files/documents/2023/02/10/2023%20NIST%20Handbook%20133.pdf O&F can tell you how many cubic feet make a cord (it's even on their website), but they measure their cords by how high the firewood is in their truck as they throw the firewood into it. It is impossible to measure correctly this way and, in fact, it is illegal in PA to do it this way. Further, they do not provide 18" logs. They are the standard 16" that all firewood is cut (cutting equipment is designed for 16"). The reason that 16" is used is because a 4 x 8 stack of 16 inch-long logs is called a "face cord" and three "face cords" make a cord. Their "satisfied customers" (they will tell you that they never had a complaint) are "satisfied" because they either don't know what a cord is and/or how to measure it, themselves, in order to verify that they get what they order.

Great produce, unique and everyday plants! Herbs and veggie plants quality and price can't be beat.read more
