If you get to Cabin Coffee early enough you may have a chance to get to try their tasty apple cinnamon buns. They always have a variety of other baked goodies too! Cookies, biscuits, muffins, danishes, rice krispie squares, scones, etc. Their brightly colored adirondack chairs out front are very inviting and it's super cozy inside and on more than one occasion I wanted to curl up by the fire and have a snooze. Their frozen mocha is amazing! It's made with chocolate ice cream and espresso. I'm a big fan of their made-on-the-spot breakfast sandwiches. My go-to sandwich is the beefeater on whole wheat. It's thinly sliced roast beef with sauteed onions and garlic butter. It's served with a dill pickle and rippled potato chips. I've had tried both kinds of their chili (veg and non) they're pretty good. Cabin Coffee serves European coffees as well as a variety of regular roast coffee including Irish Cream, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Swiss Mocha Almond and their own signature Cabin Coffee blend. It's a bummer that they close daily at 6 and don't open until 9am on Sunday. I do appreciate that they open at 6:30am weekdays! read more

Came here for coffee and a breakfast sandwich on a blustery day and both were really good for the price point. But the best thing by far about this place is the atmosphere really relaxed and cosy with bug squashy arm chairs to curl up in! The servers were all also cheerful and efficient all in all makes for a great little coffee house! read more

I'm seeing some great reviews so maybe this was my bad luck day... The drinks were delicious and food was great. But the young girl who was working there was explicitly unfriendly. Not a single smile. I caught her rolling her eyes at us. Just a reminder for everyone, I guess, that a single bad experience makes people not want to go back to that place ever again, yet alone think about giving it a second chance. read more

Oh, places-that-are-overtly-Canadian, how sweet you are. If you took the Cat over from Maine, drove up to Halifax and still are not sure what country you're in, go to Cabin for coffee and snack and relax, that moose head hanging on the wall just answered all your questions. I do wish that all coffee shops were a little closer to the cozy, colorful vibe that this place has going for it. Adirondack chairs in primary colors outside invite you in, while leather chairs inside suggest that you stay a while. Coffee I've purchased here has always been tasty, and I had a pretty stellar muffin the other day. There are a lot of coffee shops downtown to choose from, but you're dong yourself a favor by at least checking out Cabin once in a while. read more

I don't think it's the rustic "Scuttlebutt Lodge-y" decor that really brings the customers in, although the fact that there are lots of comfy leather armchairs doesn't hurt. The coffee here is good. I'm a big fan of hazelnut vanilla coffee and they always have some hot and fresh. The staff are friendly and very efficient, and they always have some tasty sweets like cinnamon rolls to go with your coffee. Atmosphere is quiet and efficient - nice place to curl up with a morning newspaper if you have some time to kill before you hit the office. read more

Really enjoy this place. Food is authentic and made in house. Then there's the fake log walls, a moose head and iron chandeliers which really contrast with the downtown just outside the front door. Soups are incredible as are the sandwiches. Oddly, I've never tried the coffee. Overall it's a great place for a quick, tasty lunch or a snack. . read more

I go there if i have to. Usually it's early in the day and oftentimes they're not open yet, even though their opening times sign says they should be. Sometimes there's someone there, and just looks at you. If they are open, often they don't have what they say they do on the menu, and they take forever to prepare something. Definitely not a place to go in a rush. Staff is so-so. They do have nice comfy chairs, though, and that cabiney feel. read more

More atmosphere than quality I would call this an adequate place for coffee and a muffin. There are comforting chairs and fun Canada kitsch all around, but the coffee is a bit weak and the muffins seem like they were bought at the supermarket bakery. I judge my coffee shops heavily on the quality of baked goods, so my score may be a bit lower than someone more intent on more unique ambiance. read more

The decorations inside are wonderfully camp, I had to Google them the first time I was in to make sure they weren't a franchise! The selection of food is low, but they make a delicious breakfast sandwich (ask for it on a bagel, trust me).
