The firearm division is the worst. I had an AR transferred back in 2011. They held on to it for two weeks. Told me their "gun manager" was on vacation and their other employee was out sick. I asked if the store manager could hand over the firearm and they said no... Guess they didn't sell a firearm for two weeks... Last month I contacted them to see if they had a pistol in stock or if they could acquire it. They emailed me back saying they would look into it and get back with me. still haven't received word three weeks after the initial request and I 'be sent requests each week. read more

Customer service bad . Corporate service worst . Bought a product for ($300.00) . Did not use it immediately. When I finally did use the product it only partially worked. No help from the store called corporate office and told we don't sell that anymore so to bad. What I just bought this.So what even if you don't sell this anymore it wasn't that long ago I bought this.Spent many many thousands of dollars there . Explained to corporate look up my Cabelas points and I don't think you want to loose me as a customer. Still typical corporate answer "Sorry you are stuck" . Cabela's hospitality has been wonderful when I hold my workshops, trainings, and my support groups at their meeting rooms. The kids bday party are fun and organized too! Did I mention the tour and taste of fudge? The cake is included! I'm not a hunter, but I like the atmosphere when it comes to hunting a good deal! Investing money here is not a problem! If your looking for a place that is kid and animal friendly, you've come to the right place! They have a museum of taxidermy animals, huge aquarium, shooting gallery, deli and candy counter! Boat Service at Gonzales, LA store Took our boat here for Mercury Authorized Service do to a power issue. Dealing with Bubba and the others in the shop was a pleasure and the turn time was great too. They might be a tad higher on the hourly shop rates, but they got me in and out in 2 days vs 3+ weeks every where else. Was worth a few extra dollars to be able to use my boat over the next 3 weekends with my boys.... And not have to miss a fishing tournament. The boys are excited!!! read more

If you never been to a Cabela's or a Bass Pro Shop, you need to check this place out. Both kinda the same, gigantic, well decorated , filled to the top sporting good super mega store. Lots of cool things to check out. Even if you aren't a hunter or fisherman or outdoors type, you can still appreciate the store. read more

I like that they have concessions for the bored girlfriend to partake in while the boyfriend ponders for 30 minutes on what deer stand and feeder to buy. I also found a box of 500 round 22 ammo and that did make me very happy. I haven't been able to find a large box of 22's in a really long time. So that made the trip worth it to me! read more

I actually bought a boat here. I was treated fairly but it wasn't the best experience. They had a pretty nice selection of bass stuff, too. Prices were standard. Not gonna go out of my way to go here like I do for Bass Pro Shops. read more

Garhole!! The absolute worst place to bring your boat; unless you want it in a month, pay through the nose, and have more wrong with it than when you dropped it off. Incredibly unhelpful staff that is inept to give them any credit. After recognizing what happened to my boat & bringing it to the attention of the service manager, the first thing he did was to start crawfishing & say it was like that when I brought it in. When I asked why it wasn't noted on the intake invoice (because it wasn't) he looked me like I lost my mind. This was after it took over an hour to find my invoice, pay it, and then locate my keys. I couldn't wait to bring it somewhere else. Too bad they are the Ranger boat dealer for this area. I would venture to another brand of boats from another dealer before I would endorse the Cabela's "experience". read more

I have visited this store several times and enjoy every visit. However this store is regarding the customer service for my father. He was admitted into the hospital today and I called Cabela's to try and get something together to bring his since any guy would prefer Cabela's over flowers. Once they knew who it was for they just asked for his hospital and room number saying they knew him well and what he liked and wanted to put something together for him and bring it themselves. Truly great of them and I know he will be thrilled. read more

First off their prices Are ridiculous-w25 to 30 percent lower elsewhere Second their advertised sales are misleading they run ads claiming low prices. It almost never have the merchandise in stock. So this place is actually surprisingly fun. I'm not a hunting fishing type girl by any means but I do enjoy an outdoor adventure: (hiking, boating, attempting and failing at water sports etc. )so I wasn't excited about going here but I was wrong. This place is actually pretty awesome. The aquarium, taxidermy museum, giant fake mountain, and such amused me and the little one. The store is huge and clean. We didn't even make it upstairs because we spent so much time downstairs. I left with new discoveries. I should buy a kayak. I should take up now fishing. Great place if you don't need to ask employees some questions about anything. Went in there to ask some questions about a few items I am interested in purchasing. The gun department is the worst. I went in to get a hostler for my pistol. They were not busy there was about 4 workers in the area behind the counter and on the floor. I walked up to two of them talking and waited until they finished. I asked for help one pointed and said if they had any they would be over there. The same place that they seen me looking for 10 min. One went and pulled one off the shelf wand said this one might fit. I ask him if I could check with one of their guns and he told me I would have to get a sale person behind the counter to help with that and walked away. I thought he was going to get one of them to help. About that time two very attractive young ladies walked up and it was over for me. It took all of them to help them. I guess I understand their point but I think at least one could have put their tongue back in there mouth and help me with my questions. I have spent a lot of money there over the years and supported them when people were fighting to keep them from moving in. But I will not spend not one more red cent there. When I told my dad about it he said almost the same thing happen to him and he stoped going there to also. He has spent lots more there than I have. read more

Love this store, but I am a dude. They of course have a huge selection of everything for the outdoors. I want to make foolish purchases every time I go here. Maybe I should buy a boat? That assault rifle is exactly what I need! Let's get that tent and start camping. Let's at least try that dried meal for dinner tonight. I become a different person when I walk through the doors. But, something I did not realize until the third visit was the aquariums and stuffed animal walk in the back right past the guns. Those were really cool. I find new things everytime I go. read more

Ok the reason for the one star. Visited the store last night. Employees in the departments were very nice and acknowledged me. We spent over 700.00 on hunting gear. The cashier was so rude. Worse than Walmart cashiers in Marrero. You would think that she would be a little nicer since we are spending a lot of money in that store...No thank you have a nice evening horrible frown...No customer service at all...There's other places that will love to have our money with better service...Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Absolutely the worst customer service anywhere. You go in and ask three different people where to find something and they all direct you to a different place and when you go back to tell them you could not find item they say, "that's where they used to be." No offer to help you find what you need. Thank God for Bass Pro! I encourage everyone to shop there instead. read more

I've been to Cabela's in several states and this is the poorest example. Several sections have a buyer who is mediocre such as women's shoes, camping, and clothing generally. The local taxidermy is comically bad. And the staff was not as helpful as elsewhere. It's disappointing since I normally think Cabela's is a top example of its type. read more

I had the opportunity to be in your store the Friday after Thanksgiving and my family had help from Greg Barr. He was very cordial and helpful with our request for information and he exceeded all expectations we had. He is the kind of folks you need at the store and all Cabelas stores could benefit from his way for helping your customers. When Cabela's has a sale, it is only for locals, if you live any distance away and can't be there to purchase in person they won't do a layaway for on sale items unless it is something they can't get rid of. One day they tell you to call back on the day of the sale but on the sale day they tell you that you can't do it on a sale item. read more
