Good food, reasonable prices fast service. Having the ocean as a backdrop was also a plus.

It was a nice place. A little too bright. Lol. Clam Chowder was excellent and the rest of the e food was good. A little too salty but enjoyed the meal. read more

I had to visit CabbyShack to see if the rumors were true that they have the best clam chowder. I ordered two New England staples. The clam chowder and the lobster roll. I am happy to the report that the clam chowder lived up to the hype. Perfectly creamy, with the perfect blend of clams and potatoes. So yummy... It was the best clam chowder I've tasted! The lobster roll was packed with large chunks of lobster and I think a dab of mayo on top. Although it was quite tasty it was not quite up to the standards of the best lobster rolls. The lobster may have been a bit overcooked. My fries, and my girlfriend's fries, came out cold. We had a great waitress and she quickly brought out a fresh warm batch of fries that were much better. If you like clam chowder you must make a stop at CabbyShack. And learn from my mistake. Get a bowl of it instead of a cup! read more

Great take out ordering experience for a beach date! I had a craving for Mac and cheese but I didn't know I was signing up for the most flavorful Mac and cheese I've had at a restaurant in YEARS! I will come back and get the dinner sized portion next time! But the lunch portion was a still responsibly sized meal. Would gladly come back any day! read more

So I had hopes for this place.. The kids burger was decent, the kids hotdog was some sort of short dog.. at $11 are we really short changin kids on hot dogs ?? I think it was servers 1st day, she was clueless when we asked questions about the menu, or other sides or when we asked what salad dressings she was struggling like it was an SAT question.. Soups and apps came out same Time as the dinner, so that sucked. I got fried seafood and got sick within minutes and that came up while in the bathroom. Baked dessert had a nice long hair that we pulled out of it. Service sucked, took forever to get the check so we could get out of there.. Coffee was good though oh and the chowder was delicious. Wish we got it sooner read more

This place is fine for a quick bite. It's not fancy food, and service is just average. You can always expect a wait for outdoor seating on either deck in the summer months. Indoor dining usually isn't too bad of a wait. Drink and food prices are okay, and selection isn't bad. Staff are generally friendly. This place is just "average" to me. I only go here if other people in my party suggest it. Also - CabbyShack gives off strong Republican/pro-Trump and homophobic/xenophobic vibes (ew!). The owner's personal Facebook page confirms this. If you're cool sitting near patrons with minimal brain cells and t-shirts with potentially offensive slogans, you'll love this place! read more

First, the good part. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the location as we did have a view of the water. The food was good quality and the ambience was great. Our biggest complaint were the drinks. The measured pours were very weak. Ordered a margarita which was cheap tequila and water. My friends ordered an espresso martini and another margarita and no one finished their drinks. I would recommend going, but order a beet instead. read more

The food was very good. I ordered the lobster sandwich and it was delicious. We ordered oysters delicious! The service was good as well.

Went in with a party of 12, only waited 30 minutes to sit out on the deck. Food and drinks were great and our waitress was very attentive.

They had some new POS system and nobody seemed fully trained. They had to delete my transaction and credit it back. It took like 15 mins. to get my card back. We sat at the outside bar area and sat there over 20 mins. Before we were asked if we even wanted a drink. It took about an hour to complete dinner and the portions seemed smaller than last time we were there. It seemed like everything was being counted. The fish and chips had minimal fries and the plate was very small. I ordered a Sauvignon blanc and was asked if it was 6 oz. Or 9 oz. I said 9 and was served 6. Overall, it was a bad experience. There are so many great places in Plymouth. I wouldn't choose this one. In their efforts to cut corners, sadly they will be cutting customers. read more

Went for a nice ride on the Harley. Of course all roads lead to the Cabby Shack. Been coming here for decades. Stopped in for my usual snack, Chowda! I've traveled all over the world and I will try chowder wherever I go, and Cabby Shack has BY FAR, The Best Chowder In The World! Well let me tell you something, much to my surprise, Cabby Shack added clam cakes to their menu!!! OH MY GOD... THEY ARE WITHOUT QUESTION, THE BEST F*#@ING CLAM CAKES I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Big hat tip to Cabby Shack, you folks have outdone yourselves once again! You put the Cake back into Clam Cakes!! I HOPE THEY BECOME A PERMANENT ADDITION TO YOUR MENU!! read more

CabbyShack - Chowda and Clam Cakes. $19.99 (disclaimer: I asked that they upgrade me to a bowl instead of a cup, I'm not sure what they charged me) - Seafood Near Me - Plymouth, Massachusetts

Absolutely horrible experience the wait time is absolutely crazy! There are no disability accessible bathrooms. 1 normal size stall, and not to mention THERE WAS POOP ON THE TOILET SEATS. Never going to the bathroom here ever! I would rather piss in a cup. The food was good not to mention my buddy is disabled and had a scheduled back spinal surgery the next day. The bald bouncer was SUPER DISRESPECTFUL to him discriminating him. Complete Bullsh*t he needs to get fired. Telling him to not lean on the wall as you can clearly see he is in pain and needs a minute to rest. But yelling at him and discriminating is absolute madness and nonsense. How would he feel if he got hit with a hammer in the back and told to keep moving. And can't rest for a second. If he could use that motivation from hate to doing his job correctly that would be great. Then threatening to fight him ?! Absolutely crazy and disrespectful will not be tolerated with me. The bouncer DISGUSTS ME! Cursing at our party was even worse considering the fact we just spent $400+ on food. You would think to treat good customers with good service read more

We visited Plymouth on a whim, and so we found this place by accident, walking by. We were greeted and seated immediately outside on the deck, with a great view. Although it did take a few minutes to be asked for drink orders, our waiter was attentive and suggested some local favorite drinks and meals. The food was good and plentiful. We were amused by the fake palm trees, being from the south, seeing those against Plymouth Bay was interesting. read more

Great experience overall. Calamari was perfectly cooked, lightly breaded and the portion very generous. Atmosphere is fun, server was attentive. Firehouse pizza was awesome, crispy bottom and perfectly cheeses. My husband had the lobster roll, a ton of lobster and not overly drenched with Mayo, just enough for flavor. And the chowder! Cup of clam chowder was legit the best we have had. Soul-satisfying. Excellent experience! read more

A few years ago, my daughter and her boyfriend went to CabbyShack on our recommendation. They felt they were rudely treated, and it was difficult for them to get a table, even though they were willing to wait it was not encouraged for them to do so. will not go so far as to say it was racist, but it was pretty close. My daughter was very uncomfortable. She is Latina and her boyfriend is very tall and African American. So, they finally left and had a wonderful time at the Blue Eyed Crab. read more

Not quite sure why this is a solid 3 star restaurant because I was totally impressed with it! We only stopped in for a quick outdoor lunch and it was perfect! Great atmosphere, service and the food was really good! The clam chowder was SO thick and delicious! I had never had a chowder this thick before!! Also had to try their handcut Onion Rings and OMG they have to be the best I have ever had! The batter was so light and flavorful! It almost had a sweeter taste to it! Sooo good! I wish I could give a 0 star review. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE TIMELINE WHEN BEING ASSIGNED A TABLE. This restaurant is severely understaffed and unprepared on a beautiful Saturday night. read more

I understand this is a tourist town and a little bit of an inflated price is understandable but $27 for this and one Vodka soda is absolutely ridiculous. Never again. Also they use an electronic pour on every drink so you get an exact measured one shot in each expensive drink, not a drop more. Kind of like the strip club but without the boobs and fun. I hate this place and they must hate their customers. Btw, that's tuna , it's not a lobster roll. read more

I misread the sign on my GPS and thought it had said "Crabby" Shack so I was expecting a menu just filled with fried or steamed varieties of seafood LOL This gem is in fact called the Cabbyshack because the first three letters "CAB" are the owners initials bf I believe his friends called him Cabby growing up. What's unique about the owner is that he has literally worked in every restaurant position known to man before owning this place. So he not only understands what his employees go through to make his place successful but he also equally knows how to appreciate them as well. I lived seeing that they had pictures scrolling of staff who were employees of the month for the current period and from the previous on their TV screens! Read through some of the negative reviews and to be honest, those people just sound like little whiners and complainers about every little thing in their lives. Y'all need better hobbies.... Just to address some of the hate because there is always 2 sides to every story: 1. When you first open up the menu, yes, there is a plethora of fried food selections on ONE page. However continue opening up to the rest of the expansive menu and you'll see that there are a number of Blackboard Chef specials as well that would blow your mind. So no, this is not your typical fried seafood Extravaganza kind of place. So please look at the entire menu before you judge, just saying. 2. If you come on a holiday weekend, for an example July 4th, yes they will charge you a $50 reservation fee just in case you don't show up because July 4th is a prime weekend for them and since they are front and center of where the fireworks are, no matter what kind of Celebration you are celebrating, it's still a national holiday and you will get charged if you do not show up. Which I think is fair. 3. If you are from out of state, in Massachusetts they require a second form of ID when they card you. So just because you couldn't drink because you didn't look of age to drink and didn't have said second form of ID don't just leave a crabby review that isn't at all true just because you're sober for once. 4. I don't know how much y'all eat at home, but the portions here are not small, as one- reviewer claimed they were, but quite generous and is appropriate for what they charge. Chef Rob Bono is a James Beard award winner who has worked at many famous and upscale establishments in his career. His Creations here are made with classic technique and inventive flavors and thoughtful execution. Trying to raise the bar Indy quality of food that is served at the cabbyshack oh, and he is most definitely accomplishing that here. His award winning New England clam chowder is killer. Put that over some of their fries or clam fritters and it's literal heaven in a bowl. Really enjoyed, their lobster roll, that was NOT drowning in mayo and had a nice crunch with the addition of some fresh celery. The Bacon Scalepeño with a little spice bite, the sweet from an orange gastrique, salt and smoke from the bacon and the creamy bite of the pan seared scallop was perfect. Try the overstuffed stuffed quahog, and make sure it's truly toasted on the outside, The creamiest and crunchiest polenta frits, and the housemade lobster raviolis. Drinks are great, great beers on tap and the staff is super friendly, warm and accommodating! It's a fun atmosphere with live music on weekends too. read more

Love the Cabby Shack. Being a local, you know what to expect going in. Sometimes the service is iffy, but it was pretty good this past time. The dining room is pretty clean nothing over the top, and the seafood is by far the best, but it can be greasy. read more

I am very disappointed tonight . We started this evening amazing, Vanessa was amazing! We spent $505 plus tip on dinner and an additional $200 at the bar on drinks. We are on vacation after my father passed away and my kids bought $10 worth of cupcakes from Charlie's cupcakes. Upon bringing them in, we got kicked out. $700 plus on food and kicking us out over outside food is beyond ridiculous! We will be happy to let Charlie's cupcakes know that you don't support their business as well My family is grieving and trying to enjoy our time and it was ruined over $10 fucking cupcakes brought in We looked for a sign We asked them very kindly We were leaving here with HIGH reviews earlier today and we are now leaving Never returning I am so upset that this is my experience to Plymouth Creating a hostile environment around kids - Muttering "control your fucking kids" under his breath as he passed two kids playing quietly out of the way. Removing patrons who had already spent a sumptuous amount of money at their establishment - We spent $700+ at their establishment, and they removed us when we brought in two cupcakes from a store nearby, whilst no where it was labeled and visible we couldn't bring in outside food. Being aggressive towards children - A small well behaved child was struggling to climb into a chair, a waitress almost ran into her because she cut a corner too close and then seemingly got frustrated, waving her hands in an erratic manner read more

Don't believe these negative reviews it's just a concerted effort by a few trolls to trash the owner and his staff for his opinion that they don't share I've dined there many many times and the food, atmosphere, location and service is excellent.
