We were looking for something still open and outdoors to do for my son's 7th birthday so we made the two hour drive up to look at the World's Biggest Dinosaurs. My son went around the short trail reciting facts about the dinosaurs he recognized. There are also informational signs about the dinosaurs posted throughout the exhibit. He seemed to lose interest pretty quickly so I would think small children would get more out of this attraction than older ones. The bathrooms were clean and the staff were friendly. It was nice getting out of the house but probably more worthwhile if you're already passing through that way. read more

We've always wanted to see the Cabazon Dinosaurs but it was always to far out of our way. On our way back from a trip we decided to stop by and take a look since it was on our way home. What can I say! The two big dinosaur monuments that you can see from the freeway are huge. Great to take a picture. You can clime in to the T-Rex but that's a trip to the T-Rex park. The other dinosaur has a gift shop inside. If driving by and want to take some pictures than go right ahead, but to drive out of your way just to see them, we'll that would be up to you. read more

If you're a lover of all things weird or random the Cabazon Dinosaurs are a must stop. I grew up in Cali and as long as I can remember my parents would stop and let us run around as well as my own kids. I have plenty of memories with my kids climbing into the mouth of the t-Rex a d gift shopping in the other. These day they paint them and one is currently bright pink. You can't miss them driving by. You can pay to go look at the other dinosaurs etc, but to me it's not worth it. We did once and my kids weren't so interested years ago. Fun stop for some cute pics. read more

Surpassed all my expectations. I'd been driving past the Cabazon Dinosaurs for 10 years and had even once pulled over to take some pics, but I never went inside. And what a mistake that was! Going inside each of the big dinosaurs is a treat (the gift shop inside the brontosaurus, Dinney, is free but tickets must be purchased to go inside the T. Rex) but there's so much more to be seen! At the other gift shop (where you can also buy tix for the "Mr. Rex" experience), there are robotic dinosaurs and then back outside is a really nicely curated dinosaur garden with static displays of velociraptors, triceratops, and pretty much any other dino you can think of. Climbing up inside Mr. Rex is a total gigglefest, as you can crawl into his mouth and look out through his teeth. Signage posted along the way to the top also explains about the history of the T. Rex and its prevalence in pop culture. There's even a dinosaur-themed ice cream truck at the end. And photo opportunities galore. I really could not ask for more. read more

I have been coming here since I was a little kid. It's changed so much, and I feel like it's better now than ever!! There is a huge park you can go visit full of 50 or so robotic dinosaurs. That is really well done. There is a lot of parking, which is really important because you can visit the two biggest dinosaurs for free right out front. I loved helping families get pictures with the dinosaurs. Be a little cautious, it's often windy. We got to go inside the brontosaurus, up the stairs there is a gift shop and so many fun things to buy. Fossils, stickers, dinosaurs, shirts, posters, and other fun things, must see! You're going to love this little stop. All the kids will love this too. Never lose your love of dinosaurs!! I give this stop 9 t-rexes and 1 velociraptor out of 10 dinosaurs. read more

We showed up at 4:37 PM, they close at 5 PM and the ticket sales desk was already closed. The employee there was a young guy who was very rude. And there's no sign post to say that they stop selling tickets at 4:30 PM. I asked if we could buy a ticket even though I know it closes at 5pm. He refused and was very rude. Never coming back again. If you're a Xennial, the Cabazon Dinosaurs are the ultimate in 80s nostalgia. I mean, they play a key role in both Pee Wee's Big Adventure AND The Wizard! You can't get much better than that. One thing that surprised me? It's SO developed, at least compared to their movie cameos of the 1980s. I was a bit shocked at the almost $20/person price, but what was I going to do? I had come this far, and I was going to finish my quest. There's now something like 50 dinosaurs, many of which are animatronic. There are a couple of cute little activities for kiddos that anybody over the age of 10 will ignore. For the rest of us, it's pretty much about climbing up into a T-Rex and getting that perfect Instagram pic inside his mouth. Honestly, there's not a ton to this place. But the entire time I was there I smiled and smiled and smiled. I can now cross the Cabazon Dinosaurs off my wish list, and I couldn't be happier. read more

I have lived in SoCal my entire life and had passed this place numerous times over the years, but never stopped or thought to check it out - until recently when my 2.5 year old granddaughter took to liking "dinosaurs" (cartoons, puzzles, coloring books, stuffed toys and a couple of children's dinosaur encyclopedias). Read about it online and did not know there was more to it than just the two giant life size ones visible from the freeway.Read reviews and understood there is no shade walking the exhibits. Cabazon gets bloody hot, so I monitored the weather and chose a weekday last week when the temp was, amazingly enough, to be hovering around a mild 70 degrees. Upon arrival the wee one, although excited to see them, was intimidated by the two towering dinosaurs in the front lot. I had to carry her, as she obviously preferred the "safety" of Papa's arms. She wouldn't touch them even after showing her it was okay to do, but enjoyed watching me do so. She had no problem going into the Dino Store and actually walked around herself, looking for that one souvenir to memorialize our visit. Although many of the items in the gift shop were ridiculously overpriced, she did manage to pick something out that did not break the bank (thank goodness lol). Upon entering the walk-thru exhibit it was back in Papa's arms and shoulders, but once she realized they were behind "fences" she walked a majority of it herself after the first 10 minutes. She really enjoyed it, which caused me to really enjoy it. She was able to overlook, because she is 2.5 years old, a couple of the dinosaurs missing a limb or an erected scale. I point out the wee one's perception that she believed the dinosaurs to be real because toddlers at her age don't completely understand the concept of reality; so your wee one might deal with this same issue. In another year or so she'll understand it. As for the dinosaurs being behind "protective fencing" - she has been going regularly to the zoo (mommy and daddy have season passes) since she was an infant, and she knows she is "safe" from all the big animals and loves watching them from her safe place. Inside the secondary gift shop, adjacent to the walk-thru exhibit, they have dinosaur animatronics which move and make noises. Although they were behind "protective fencing" it was back up onto the shoulders and she did not want to get too close (but smiled, pointed and yapped about them). If your child(ren) really likes dinosaurs I highly recommend the place. Just don't have high expectations for yourselves as adults. I really enjoyed it, because she really enjoyed it! Lastly, it troubles me that some of the 1 star reviews is based solely on the perception that the owners are trying to force their "creationist" views onto people. Get over yourselves already! If you are a believer in evolution as taught, have a creationist view, or somewhere in between, go enjoy your time with your child(ren) and explain whatever you feel is the right angle is if need be. If you are totally opposed then do NOT go, simple as that. I personally did not witness it as so "in your face" as a few reviewers note it as. read more

Power tip: Pee Wee brought me (and thus my family) here. Neat roadside attraction. Lots of other dinosaurs statuettes around, aside from the main attraction that is the big T-Rex. Spoiler alert: the inside is nothing like what I expected from the movie. The staff at the gift shop didn't have a good explanation, since they didn't even know the movie. However, the girl at the pink brontosaurus did. You can find paraphernalia referring to the movie there. read more

Have loved these roadside dinosaurs since I was a kid. Great to see them revived and gaining popularity with a new generation of young children. So cool that Dinny was open on our last stop. Who knew there was a full sized gift store in the belly of the big dino? Too cool. We made a few purchases and checked out information on the newly opened/renovated park behind the dinos. For only $13 you can see about 50 various dinos, a cave, and a museum. There are also several Ingress portals and an Ingress mission at the site. We are definitely coming back to check it out on a future trip. read more

I think dinosaurs are pretty cool, and I told my boyfriend that I wanted to stop by this place on our roadtrip to Joshua Tree last week. Tickets are $13 per person which is not too bad. There are a great deal of dinosaurs in this place. You can climb up the TRex which felt pretty cool and claustrophobic. The spiral stairs was a workout. Haha... My favorite was the TRex near the beginning of the park and the two dinos who look like they're about to kiss. My bf and I enjoyed the attraction. I was watching Pee Wee's Big Adventure a great years back and noticed that this place was in the movie. Pee Wee was being chased by this scary looking big guy throughout the park. Since seeing that part, I knew that I had to check it out someday. Little did I know that it was practically in my so called backyard! Cabazon Dinosaurs is a small museum like place located near Casino Morongo off the 10 freeway. It's literally the next stop over. I had passed by it many times throughout the years, most notably when I was coming back from Coachella a while back. It was always on my bucket list to check it out. I decided one day, why not! So myself and my significant other decided to see it for ourselves! We went sometime in March last year. Mind you, it was raining pretty hard during our visit, but we decided that we didn't care. We had to check it out. Entrance fee was one where around $10 or less I believe. There are many dinosaurs throughout the park to check out. From the mighty T-Rex to the triceratops, stegosaurus, velociraptor, allosaurus, and all the long necks and many more, this is more than a kid friendly place! Since it was raining that day, there weren't that many people, which was even better! We also got to climb atop the Brachiosaurus through the inside! Such an amazing experience we both had. There is information and history on the dinosaurs throughout the park to read up on. They also do have a gift shop with many cool dinosaur items and toys and such to purchase. They also do have a "live" dinosaur that's always roaring inside this shop! Parking is plentiful here. On this day however, it was almost empty! The people that work here were very professional and nice with us with any questions we had. This is definitely a place I'd more than highly recommend checking out. You get to learn about the dinosaurs while at the same time, letting your imagination soar free here. It's quite the drive if you're from the city, but it's more than definitely worth checking out. Cabazon Dinosaurs is probably the closest we are going to get in terms of being one on one up close with the dinosaurs. If you have kids that love dinosaurs are are like me and the film Pee-Wee's Big Adventure was your favorite movie then it's worth it to stop here. These dinosaurs are something to look at and against the backdrop of the mountains and palm trees they're amazing, but after 15 minutes I'm ready to keep going to the Outlets nearby or home. The nearest restroom is inside the Burger King. I opted out of paying the $14 to see the museum in the back and go up inside one of the dinosaurs, but if you have kids it might be worth it. I have driven by this adventure 1000's of times over my life and finally made an impulsive move to stop with my kids on the way home from Palm Springs The T-Rex and Apatosaurus (commonly, erroneously referred to as Brontosaurus) you see from the freeway are 100% free to visit and snap photos with. The walk through "adventure" is a bit more pricey. $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. That's quite a bit to pay for a family of three to pay for a roadside attraction that'll keep the child(ren) entertained for about an hour. You'll save $4.00 per adult with your Military, Law Enforcement and/or Firefighter identification (which you'll undoubtedly forget while on vacation......bummer). Anyway, like I was saying, you little ones will be entertained for a solid hour, maybe longer if you take full advantage of the extra activities they have here: 1. Dino Dig: A giant sand box where you and your children can try to find rocks with the names of various dinosaurs written on them. Unearth one, and you can redeem the rock for a prize from the gift shop. Yelper insider tips: you can only redeem one rock per child, no digging tools are provided and the prizes could be valued at about $1.00. 2. Panning for fossils/rocks: You can grab a mining sifter and a pile of sand and sift it in water to reveal a bunch of rocks. You can keep any of the rocks you find, but if you want to reveal a fossil or gemstones, you'll have to purchase a bag of sand to sift through at the gift shop. 3. Climb through the T-Rex: At the end of the dino-path, you'll see the back of the big T-Rex. Walk up the ramp and enter the T-Rex leg. Climb up the steps to it's belly area, then up a spiral staircase to go up it's throat and you can peek out of it's teeth. Your little ones will enjoy the climb up and enjoy being in the T-Rex's mouth. 4. Walk around and find all the dinosaurs throughout the park. There are cool signs around the park to educate you about dino-stuff. There are a few hidden dinosaurs as well, so keep your eyes open for them. There are also present day dino-descendants throughout the park: fake snakes, turtles, lizards and frogs. The "cool" thing about this park is that they have little mister sprayers throughout to try and cool down the guests (on some of the hotter summer days, they don't do much). They also charge only $1.00 for a bottle of water (which I think is nice of them not to overcharge on something they know you'll clearly need). Enter the gift shop for some air conditioned entertainment. There is a bunch of animatronic dinosaurs there as well as a dinosaur (T-Rex) you can pay $2.00 to ride. There's also a giant, hatching dinosaur egg your child can take a picture in as well as a mini triceratops dino they can sit on top to take a photo on. If you are a parent who can't say "no" to your child, I'm warning you to NOT take them into the gift shop (and if you're redeeming one of those rocks, good luck). The gifts and novelty items up for purchase here are VERY pricey. A toy I've purchased at the dollar tree, slightly altered with a dino theme, sells for $10.00!!!! Since it kept my kids entertained and we've all been talking about the dinosaurs non-stop since the visit, allowed me to rate this place as "A-OK". My wallet, on the other hand, is yelling at me, "Hey! No way" for taking advantage of almost everything that was offered here. I really don't know where all that money goes though. The dinos here are all sun bleached and could use some touch ups. I can't imagine desert land costs that much. This attraction DEFINITELY needs a face lift. read more

Sunday we took a family trip back in time(or an hour away) to see some dinosaurs! Visiting the dinosaurs as a kid was always fun, but seeing as they've added a few attractions and the Wafflesaurus truck from Sweet-O-Saur...it's gotten even better! They had plenty of animatronic dinosaurs to see, as well as activities for the children to do! Sweet-O-Saur brings the Wafflesaurus truck out every Friday through Sunday from 11:30am to 5:30pm! This truck delivers handmade fluffy dinosaur waffle cones in three flavors; chocolate, churro and plain. Alongside your choice of ice cream and toppings, it's the perfect treat for any prehistoric beast! Visiting the Cabazon dinosaurs was a fun little trip to get the kids out of the house and let them enjoy a blast from the past, I definitely recommend taking a trip when you can and visiting, plus you get to enjoy one of the sweet treats! read more

While on our way to Joshua Tree we made a little pit stop at this road side spot. You can't miss this place. It's right off the freeway, so you're able to hop off the freeway then hop right back on. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to stop here and we finally made time for it. It's a great spot to get out and stretch your legs and take lots of fun pictures outside. There's plenty of free parking available as people are continuously coming and going. Now you have the option to go to the little museum that's inside, but they'll charge you. That's where you're able to go to the top of the dinosaur. It's $13 for adults ages 13-55. Children ages 3-12 is $11. Seniors and military is $10. Tickets are only available at the door. This place is cool and worth the stop for some silly pictures. read more
