My husband and I wandered in Catawba River Outfitters on a Friday afternoon because their window displays looked so nice. Upon entering I was immediately wowed by the aesthetics of the store. The historic charm of the former occupant, Stowe Mercantile Co., was in tact and the store's merchandise was nicely organized. I really enjoyed seeing some original fixtures too and couldn't help but gaze up the grand staircase. But, I suspect most people don't come to Catawba River Outfitters for architecture so lets talk about products. Catawba River Outfitters features clothing and gear for the whole family for an active lifestyle and outdoor adventures. I'm not a super outdoorsy person but I appreciate quality clothing and gear and I really enjoyed looking at mens' swim trunks, ladies' loungewear, kids' flip flops, collapsible chairs, Yeti cups, festive backpacks, sturdy coolers and such. Something else I really liked about this store was the staff. Everyone was very friendly! We were greeted upon entry which seems so rare these days and later asked by another employee if we needed any help.
