I tried popular home workout plans and bought a membership to a big box gym, but it wasn't long before I dreaded my workouts due to lack of direction and minimal progress. I can confidently say that I have exceeded any fitness expectations that I previously set for myself, all because of the trainers at 181 Fitness, who are extremely knowledgeable and truly CARE about each client. I had been feeling…read morereally stuck emotionally lately, and had my first healing session with Julie the other day. I genuinely had such a positive experience. I went into it open minded, but honestly wasn't sure exactly what to expect, or how it would work. Julie was so down to earth, non judgemental, and comfortable to work with, the next thing I new I had tears flowing and was releasing emotions I didn't even realize I was holding. I definitely didn't truly believe any pain could be relieved by her healing process, especially in one sessio, and was so humbled to experience myself how, as I released certain emotions, some back pain I was feeling eventually melted away to almost completely gone. I was honestly shocked, at how effective the process was, and now am really motivated to do mlre of the exercises she teaches. I wanted to write a little more for those truly interested, so they can get a sense of who she is. Julie is not only a natural, compassionate healer, but she is one of the most genuine people I've met in a while. We met last summer at the pool on our neighborhood, and just connected. I'm from Boston and her son's name was Boston , haha! From there, when we saw each other in passing, usually while she was out walking her dog, we got to talking. What I love about Julie is she's so good with animals, my 6 year old ( she gives such great parenting advice to me) and is just such an authentically kind person. I also respect that she is open minded (esp. with all spiritual beliefs/ religions), always learning, and she's not pushy at all with her business. I kept asking her questions about it because I have seen over and the past six months how she her self keeps improving her life. She looks so young for her age and is energetic, positive, has been losing weight and her skin is glowing for her age! She also is so honest and understands theat healing isn't linear and admits openly about how she is still healing and releasing emotions even after years ( she's been through a LOT of trauma) I also love Julie because I can see clearly that she's not just in this business for the money, she truly loves helping others improve, and she practices what she teaches. If you are struggling with any emotional or physical pain, or feeling stuck in life for whatever reason, I highly recommend trying out working with Julie.     Julie is such a GIFT! I took her breath-work class a few…read moredays ago. You can tell when someone is passionate about what they do because they are REALLY good at it. She makes you feel comfortable and confident. She gently guides you through the process, clearly explaining each step and what you may experience, without interrupting the process. Her energy is stunning. I will be taking more classes with Julie again. She's an absolute PRO! (Thank you J for all you do)

Occasionally I hired a trainer, sometimes through a gym, sometimes not, but I never really felt any huge results. I started a walking 5 years ago and that has been good. Changing my diet to low carb and walking regularly, helped me lose 40+ pounds over the last year. Now I needed to build muscle, get toned, and work on balance and posture. My upper body is weak, I lost tone (and my butt) with this last weight loss. As I age I notice small losses in balance. My posture has been an issue most of my life. I did research. The first trainer I hired, who was less expensive, gave me cookie cutter exercises and didn't push me. Maybe he thought I was too old. Then I hired Nicky. She is not easy on me, but goes at my pace. If I can't do something, she modifies it so I can be successful and still get the benefits. I am amazed at every workout with her depth of knowledge. Working together we have uncovered some issues I didn't know I had and we are working to correct them. When I started having a weird issue, we both researched it and she suggested I see a PT to confirm what we both suspect. I like that she researched the issue and also that she knows her limitations. She says, " I'm not a PT. They study for years. But I know training. " I'm feeling stronger in just a few months. My posture has visibly improved. I didn't expect to see a difference so quickly. She takes measurements and checks for muscle increase periodically. It's not required, but I like to see data. I'm pretty knowledgeable about nutrition, but she made some suggestions. I lost a few more pounds, even though that is not my primary goal at this point. I just want to be stronger and more toned. I want to live healthy into old age and I believe having a strong body is absolutely essential. If you want results and not just go through the motions, give Nicky a shout. If you are willing to work and want to work with someone knowledgeable, she's a great choice. Her workouts are tailored to each client. She will make sure you are safe and provide encouragement.

Nicky took the time to go over what my current diet was and how I could lose weight with some pretty simple meal adjustments she help set up a nutrition program through an app and we programmed in a sample day for me to start with. She was able to explain where my current meal routine was way too high in certain macros and why shifting and excluding items would help me to lose weight and be more healthy. Ultimately I would love to get some resistance training done with her but her schedule was full. I would highly recommend her for nutritional advice and the reasoning behind making the right choices!
