We typically book through a travel agency because they put our flights, hotels, and transportation together for a pretty good price especially when we don't want to put in the legwork of researching, etc. They chose this hotel for our stay in Venice and I checked the reviews and it looked promising. Pictures looked good and reviews were good so we went forward with it.
First of all, Venice is so damn hard to navigate due to their small streets, canals, and alleyways. When we finally arrived the concierge said they upgraded us and that where we were staying is another 5 min walk... Ok... He was so nice and walked us there. He said we have complimentary breakfast with the hotel, but we have to go to the main hotel for breakfast- very inconvenient. So our room was located in a different building and I'm guessing this is where they have typically their Airbnb guests stay (because they are also available on Airbnb)- I wasn't a huge fan. Our room was spacious and very clean, but it definitely didn't look like an upgrade compared to the rooms at the main hub hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel was good, nothing special or extravagant. Definitely a small dining area, but that's Venice for ya. Overall it was an ok stay- I do appreciate the spacious room, but let's keep it real.. that wasn't an upgrade. read more
