She is a full time student at TXST and decided to take her math class during the summer while at home. She is an art major and had not taken a math class in over a year. To make matters worse, now she was completing an entire semester of college algebra in four weeks. She was completely lost and just hopeless. After meeting with Gisele and explaining the situation, she customized a plan for us and agreed to have the appropriate tutor meet my daughter 30 minutes prior to the usual opening time on her scheduled days. She arranged this so my daughter could be tutored prior to working at her part time job, and attend PT for a recent knee surgery. I told Gisele that all we wanted was to pass...we just needed a C. Well, my daughter made an 88 on the first test! It was such a confidence booster for her and a testament to The Tutoring Center and to her hard work. I had been trying to find reliable child care on my own, but after my sitter called me at work several times to say that she would not be able to pick up my child from school, I knew I needed a more reliable solution. While looking for someone new, I took advantage of the back-up care benefit available through my employer. The young lady they sent to my house was delightful, and when I found out that she was employed by College Nannies and Tutors, I contacted them to get more information. Doina, the owner, came to my home to interview me and meet my son so that she could find a sitter who would work for us. She also explained their nanny selection process and how their organization works. One of the perks was that if something happened and my nanny was not available, they would find someone else. This has never happened, but it's nice to go to work and not have to worry about having to leave early to pick up my child from school because my nanny was suddenly not available. I work at a hospital and have a flexible schedule, but Doina was able to find someone to work with my schedule. I can't say enough nice things about the young lady College Nannies and Tutors found for us. She is a delightful, patient, and flexible young woman who has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is always on time and lets me know how things are going at the house. She picks my son up from school and drives him to activities on the days that I have to work, and she is able to assist with homework, and meal prep. I came in to College Nannies and Tutors today expecting my orientation. I was excited to start my new part time job and especially because I've been looking for a good opportunity and the manager offered me the position on the phone. Then the lady, Doina, asked if I was vaccinated. I told her I had cancer and I am on remission and I cannot get vaccinated because I am immune compromised. She told me that I had to leave and she felt UNCOMFORTABLE with me. I think it's inappropriate that she thought it was okay to shame me for my medical condition.  I was NEVER told that covid vaccination was a requirement for this job. I took the time to drive there and was bullied.  Please don't let this happen to anyone again.  I am heartbroken over this process.  Sincerely, Carla Ness
