This place is outstanding. Caring, friendly, and understanding staff that go above and beyond to give the customers the best experience possible. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and while C. Wimberley had possession of my vehicle the antifreeze seemed to have disappeared. When I noticed my vehicle was blowing cold air (before I left the premises) I found someone before they all left for the day to take a look and see what was going on. They took off the radiator cap, asked numerous times where all of it went, put a dash of antifreeze in the radiator and told me it was fine and I could go. On my way to work the following Monday my vehicle over heated and the engine blew. I had the engine replaced and I have spoken to the service manager since then and they will not assume any responsibility for this and told me it is my fault. Very disappointing. Had they spent more than 3 mins looking for the actual issue and had not let me leave there that day with my vehicle telling me it was fine, I would not have had to replace my engine. GM Service manager is unprofessional and confrontational- waving his arms all over and yelling at me because i was questioning why they wrecked my spotless Denali into a service bay. this is my second time having issues. never again. i don't recommend dealing with him as he just becomes irate and is not looking to fix a problem they caused. now i have body damage that i may have to turn into my insurance company. just do yourself a favor and go someplace else read more

My Ford Explorer has been in service for over a month. Every week when I call they say next week we will have it on the rack to tear it down to determine the problem. I stopped there last Friday Michael told me it would be on the rack by Tuesday. Called today was told maybe next week. Really miss my truck. read more

This is by far my favorite Chevy dealership. My front tire was making a strange noise for a very long time and I took my car to a Chevy dealership in Nashville. I don't know if they thought I was lying because the noise couldn't always be heard or if they just didn't have time for me, but either way they didn't fix it. When I took my car to Wimberley they fixed the problem and called a few days later to make sure I was happy with the results (and I was). Great service! read more

My original experience with C Wimberly was with Rodney Durandt, and I did get the "we'll bend over backwards for you" feeling working with him, and with Chuck, and with the dealership in general. Unfortunately after a short time of purchasing my vehicle, it started making noises. The mechanics did check it out, could not find anything. It persisted and got worse, I even exchanged emails with the service receptionist, (who was very kind to work with) recording the noises so that they could hear them. Nothing was resolved there, but now under a year of having the vehicle, the AC compressor just went out. Which explains the noises, as it was from the compressor going out. Now, looking to trade the vehicle in, I was next dealing with Jason Nowlin, who I would never recommend to anyone, especially if you are a female. He has a very arrogant and demeaning manner, your typical TV-sitcom used car dealer with phrases like, "I'm not going to BS you, you are a good-looking well-put-together female, you want to be getting out of a car that makes you look good", even asking me if I was dating anyone and asking me about attending his church, (although I will say he did talk about his wife and family as well). Although his personality made me uncomfortable, I had high hopes with working with him on a vehicle I had in mind. However after a miscommunication about an appointment there that I carved an hour out of my day for first thing in the morning, when come to find out he was in a staff meeting, his attitude changed and has repulsed me from working with the entire dealership in general. Stating rude comments, like, "you know how this works, you know the deal, you can do the math, you can figure out the numbers", and also getting details incorrect about our conversation and putting words in my mouth has felt very accusatory and threatening. It's been a very frustrating experience to say the least. I was left speechless at the way he was scolding and spoke so degradingly to me. I will definitely be going elsewhere as there are multiple other used car lots with respectable dealers to work with who are respectful. read more

My wife and I went to C Wimberley in Dowagiac the other night to look at at a truck. We get there and went we were walking in the sales guy makes a rude comment to my pregnant wife, about how she is walking so slow. Then we sit down and he gives us a price on that truck that is way off what I told him earlier. After I told him we were way off he kept treating us like we were wasting his time and telling us no. Then they were going to contact us after they talked to the bank. We told him please do not contact my wife and do not call her work. Well the next day he calls her cell phone, then calls her at work. Its a shame I really did like the truck, but the comment to my wife was unacceptable, and so what his treatment of us. My husband and I purchased a 2009 Jeep Commander from C. Wimberley Chevrolet Ford in Dowagiac, MI January 5th, 2013. At first I was overall pleased with the experience; very kind sales people who seemed transparent about both the vehicle and their business dealings. However, after having the vehicle for no more than one week, we experienced something very frightening with the car and didn't feel like the dealership handled the incident very professionally. We were driving at approximately 25 mph approaching an on-ramp to the highway, and the front wheel broke free from the vehicle and went underneath the car. The mechanic who later fixed the car said that the ball joint broke, and the wheel tore free. It did quite a bit of damage to the vehicle, but fortunately my husband and I were not hurt. This certainly would have been a much different story had this happened on the highway. The following Monday morning we contacted the salesman who sold us the car, Brett Reeves, and told him what happened. He was very apologetic and put us in touch with Chuck Jr. of C. Wimberley Chevrolet Ford who also was very apologetic and assured us that this was a fluke and should not reflect on them as a dealership. He wanted to "make this right" and offered to have the vehicle towed back to the dealership (about 90 miles away from us) and have it fixed there, then towed back to us. A generous offer, for sure. However, I was not confident in their repair abilities after having purchased a vehicle with a problem that they failed to identify earlier OR disclose to us upon purchase. After talking to Chuck Jr, he stated that there was a "clunk" recorded in the notes of the vehicle, but their mechanic wasn't able to find anything wrong with it. So it was just brushed under the rug, so to speak. After telling Chuck Jr that I wasn't interested in having the vehicle repaired at their facility, he then offered to buy the vehicle back from us. Also, a generous offer. However, we have been looking for this exact vehicle for over a year; one with lesser miles, all options, exterior and interior color, etc. The Commander met all of the criteria, and we weren't interested in starting the search all over again. We chose to go through our insurance and have the car fixed locally. Once given the quote from the insurance adjuster as to the cost of repairs, which was $1800.00, we let Chuck Jr know. He then proceeded to tell me that number was "absurd and astronomical", that there was no way it should cost that much to make the repairs. At this point, we were not asking for him to make the repairs himself, just letting him know everything that was damaged and the cost to repair each component. We asked Chuck Jr to only be compensated with a rental vehicle in the meantime, which ended up being 10 days total. That was when correspondence on the dealership's end stopped. After calling multiple times and leaving three messages (two from myself and one from my husband), we figured out that C. Wimberely Chevrolet Ford was no longer interested in helping to "make this right" and just chose to ignore what was going on. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this dealership. It comes down to ALL TALK, NO ACTION. I went to a dealership to buy a vehicle was was safe and reliable rather than buying through a private seller. I instead got to experience a very frightening mechanical failure and had the dealership turn its back on us when things subsequently did not go their way. I wish I could recommend C. Wimberley Chevrolet Ford of Dowagiac, MI to my friends and family, but I can't. This experience has made me second guess my trust in dealerships altogether, and I cannot in good faith send others here after going through what we did. read more
