But now I can also vouch for Amy's when things go wrong! I purchased a fairly high-end Janome machine from Amy's, and the day after I got it home, an important component broke. I was devastated, but when I returned to the store I was immediately assured that the machine would be repaired or replaced. Within a week, I received a call to come pick up a new machine. Amy said that she felt that I, as a consumer, might worry that something else was wrong if they did a repair, so they worked with Janome to simply replace the machine. I might have expected to be treated as an inconvenience, or been sent home with an iffy product. Instead, I was even offered a gift card to compensate me for the inconvenience of having to wait! That is what is meant by exceeding customer expectations. Imagine what my experience would have been if I had purchased my machine on line! Nothing can compare to working with a good dealer. And Amy's is, simply, the best.

I had recently been to other shops in the area that had clearance Moda and other top quality fabric for $4-$7 a yard and regular yard prices of $10-$13 a yard. I was completing a shop hop and they only had 2 of the 10 hop specific fabrics. So a bust in trying to buy said fabric. The workers were unfamiliar with the shop hop fabrics. They also were unfamiliar with specifics on other lines of fabric in the store- aka "Do you have any other fabrics with this bolt? Is this fat quarter available on a bolt so I can buy a yard or two?" There is a wide selection of fabric panels. They have a huge classroom space and several models of sewing machines and long arm quilt machines setup. It was a nice store but there are a lot better options out there price and selection wise both in person and online.

We are re-shingling our entire roof so Ambridge Lumber had to gain between $700-$1200 from our business. Unfortunately they showed us they couldn't care less about having two people come in and spend that kind of money. We walked in to no greeting. We wandered around the store for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. Turns out, what we needed was upstairs which was totally unmarked besides "Showroom" we found this ourselves. We found the meager shingles section, without pricing of course, so we went back downstairs and actually waited in line for the cashier to get help. Once it was our turn, two guys that the cashier knew butted in front of us and got help from the cashier. This cashier was 40+ years old but acted like he was 17, gabbing on and on. So we waited a couple more minutes. There were 2 more "employees" (in regular clothes, no name tags) wandering around. Still no acknowledgment and we didn't have anything in our hands indicating we just needed checked out! We were the only other people in the store! We were still waiting in line when we decided to leave and as we left, still no one tried to help us. It's for the best because as we were wandering around their store looking for what we actually needed, we got a feel for their pricing and it's astronomical compared to other places. A lot of people will describe this place as a UFO, I want to disagree here with that. It's more along the lines of a military fighter plane. That's not an arrow on their sign, that's the plane. I do see how people say UFO, looking like it's out of 'Flight of the Navigator' and all. When you finally pull in and park you are immediately greeted with toys. Out front of the store they have a few outdoor games set up for use. This theme continues inside and you find out why once you enter. Upon entry to the store you are told by the employees (mostly high schoolers or college kids) that you are welcomed to play with anything that is already opened. There are a lot of things opened, so you could honestly spend your whole day here discovering the toys. I was under the assumption when I arrived here that this place held old school or vintage toys. That is my fault, I thought that this was a throwback store, but by visiting here I now know differently. There are toys in here that are nostalgia inducing, but a lot of what you see is cutting edge and up to date toys. Every single type of toy you can imagine is available. Puzzles, boardgames, sports equipment and much more can be found in here. I had high hopes at finding something for upcoming birthdays, but actually ended up getting myself a boardgame and a magnet to add to my collection. Was it worth the stop, yes. Or a bomb shelter? I'm not sure I ever figured that out. But inside, it's a kids dream. My twins ran all over, played make believe and rode tricycles through the aisles. The service was friendly and so helpful. All of the staff went out of their way to show off the toys and give suggestions on what would work best for my kids. The value here is also great. The kids managed to twist my arm and after I said they could get just one toy, they managed to convince me to get a bunch for each of them. Am I a complete pushover parent? You better believe it! Overall, this is a place you must visit if you're in this part of Pennsylvania with kids. It was a major highlight of our road trip.

It has been a lifesaver for me, so when my daughter's cancer returned with a vengeance, we went to Allshouse for a lift chair. They had the perfect chair, and were able to deliver it and set it up the next day. It's a life saver for my daughter and we are grateful they are in our town.

Thank goodness I called Arnold Plumbing, who quoted $1600 to $1900. Greg Jr and Rob came the next day and in 5 hours had repaired/replaced the line. Finding their location is a bit tricky since their door is hidden behind trees and there are driveways at either end to a small road to their door. Apartments have been built across the street so it is no longer a field as shown on google. Thankfully they were able to fix my amplifier while I waited (about 1 1/2 hr) since I had an hour drive to get there, and the amplifier works great. Very friendly folks with lots of experience. I recommend them highly. They provided a receipt with an explanation of the work they did.
