We have bought several appliances here over the years as well as electronics and small items such as flashlights and mattresses. They have always honored their grantees with a smile when necessary. Six years ago we bought one of the first electric recliners on the market...before my severe bout with arthritis. It has been a lifesaver for me, so when my daughter's cancer returned with a vengeance, we went to Allshouse for a lift chair. At least 5 years ago we purchased a stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher from Allshouse. We have been very pleased with them. Recently, after much use, the ice maker quit functioning, and our dishwasher did also (kids!) We called for their repair person and they sent a gentleman named Craig who was professional, friendly and fixed both appliances perfectly - even explaining to me why they broke ! Bought a mattress there and was over charged had to go back for mo ey. Then 4 mo this later the mattress is falling apart. Called and they said we had to up grade. what? Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator and after just 2 years started having serious problems with it freezing our groceries. Tried everything advised to correct the problem with no success. A tech was sent to our residence (5) times to replace parts with no success. This was in a span from May to November (6 months). Advised by tech there was nothing left to replace on the fridge, Allshouse Appliance refused to replace it under the extended warranty contract. They were told of the groceries repeatedly being thrown away because of them freezing with no concern by them or a resolution. Spoke to the owner; David Allshouse about this ongoing problem which resulted in an argument and David advising me, as the customer, to phone warranty tech myself to correct the problem! He stated it wasn't his problem and that the extended warranty was through a different company but I purchased the warranty through his company! Prior to disconnecting with the owner David Allshouse, I advised him I expected a return call from him with a answer to my faulty refrigerator. I received no call from him nor his business to this date with a resolution. My wife & I went to Lowe's and had to purchase a new refrigerator to replace the one which had an extended warranty! My experience is similar to Tammy's, fortunately I discovered their anger and customer distain prior to making a $1,000 + purchase. I then took their suggestion I make my purchase elsewhere because "I am not making much on this sale" statement. I went to a big box store and got what I was hoping to get from a locally owned with good name retailer and was willing to pay the extra $100+ to receive, great service, competent advise and a pleasant experience. read more
