When I go grocery shopping in North Quincy, I always hit C Mart & 99Ranch. They have similar items, but different deals depending on the day. For example, cauliflower was $1.29/lb at 99ranch vs C Mart had it for ~$2/lb. Usually, I enjoy strolling at 99ranch more because it's a lot cleaner and no fishy smell, however, there are some things I can only get at CMart! I really LOVE the sweet shrimp, can be found when you first enter. This shrimp is special because it has eggs! Similar to how lobster and crab have eggs, this shrimp has it, which isn't something I have seen sold at other Asian markets. It's a pretty traditional Chinese market, not the cleanest by any means but will definitely have all the ingredients you need to make Chinese dishes. Decent snack section. Parking: they have free parking lot available. I like to park on the side because carts are never brought back and people like to leave carts next to your car lol... sometimes even let the carts hit your car. read more

I bought a package of yakult drinks that I put into the cart. It was supposed to be fully sealed but the wrapping came apart on its own and some bottles fell and splashed open. When I asked if I could get a replacement, I was told by the workers I had to buy a different package! You guys sold faulty goods and won't even offer a replacement. read more

I have gone to this supermarket twice now and don't plan on coming back despite the low prices. There are multiple birds flying around and pooping on everything. The amount of bird poop all over the floor is vile. On top of the general disgusting-ness, the seafood area is not covered, which wouldn't be an issue except that the birds can poop directly into the water or on top of the seafood. I took it upon myself to message somebody at the Quincy Health Department on July 21, 2023. Go to a different Asian supermarket. Not worth stepping in poop, getting pooped on, or potentially getting sick from ingesting poop. read more

I went there last week with my 90 years old mother when one of their workers almost ran over her with the cart he was pushing. My mother walks very slowly due to her age but this middle age man with a cart full of vegetables push up against her and demanded her to move out of his way. When I confronted this jerk, he smiled and said 'I didn't hit her!..' C Mart, if you don't train your workers to respect our elders, there plenty of good and decent Asian supermarket nearby. read more

This CMart has a the best assortment of produce, meat, and packaged goods out of all the Quincy markets. My parents often say the prices are comparable to what they see in New York Chinatown which is a good thing. Getting to parking lot is super tricky to navigate. You need to turn at the light by the diner and go around the back of the entire building. If you accidentally go into the shopping mall next door with the 99 Ranch store, you can't cut across. read more

As a white guy who doesn't speak the language, searching an Asian market for obscure items can be frustrating and often the employees are less than helpful. Not the case here. After scanning isle after isle for sichuan pickled chilis, I surrendered and asked for assistance. The guy smiled, motioned for me to follow him, and directed me right to what I needed. This supermarket has been long-awaited in the North Quincy area, and it was worth the wait. It's much larger than it looks from the outside, with a much larger parking lot than you would expect. It has everything all the other Chinese supermarkets in the area have -- meats, fish, vegetables, tons of dry goods, frozen foods, etc. The inside is quite clean and orderly (for now!). Prices are in-line with other Chinese markets in Quincy. read more

After many years of trying to get proper approval for this supermarket, it is finally here. Adding to the well known C-Mart family of Asian supermarkets in the greater Boston area, this place just opened and it is one of the larger Asian grocers in this area. As you walk in the door, you will see how spacious the interior of the supermarket is. Lots of room to push your shopping carts throughout. The selection of what is available is huge. There is a large parking lot right outside as well and for those local in the area, it is easy walking distance for the large surrounding Asian community and not too far from the North Quincy metro station. They are open daily from 8AM-8PM, which should be good enough for most people. If you are in this area, whether you are enjoying some of the local food choices or here for an appointment at the South Cove Health Center next door, you should stop by this grocery store. read more

Please Please Please check EXPIRATION date on everything you buy here. I shopped at Cmart located on 28 Hayward St, Quincy, MA 02170 during corona-virus pandemic today, bought noodles from the refrigeration aisle (for eggs and other fresh ingredients), and when I got home to cook it, found out along with all the other packets, they were 3 months expired (best before 01/22/20). I bought a lot, so with frustration, I went back to return them, and the cashier who checked my order less than an hour ago, told me "it's not my responsibility, go talk to the manager, he's not here, I don't know when he will be. He is often not here recently, you can come back every few days to see if you can catch him. Why are you asking me for his number, why would I have his number." Not very helpful. Eventually the manager came, and instead of helping me with a refund, he told me he could only give me store credit, and I can come back again to shop. No thanks. This time I paid attention in the store, there are so many products that has only less than 1 month left before expiring. I got more rice than I can eat and left, it doesn't have expiration date on it either, but I will just deal with it. buyers beware. read more

I went here, and found the place while clean and brightly lit... the meat quality was poor and there were big bottle flies humming about. These aren't the little fruit flies. These are indicative of a dead rat somewhere left and not picked up... Bright and busy, but disgusting at a closer look. Parking insane too. The prices tend to be better than Kam Man which is down the street. They have self heating huo guo/shabu shabu/Chinese hot pot. The produce is not always 100% fresh, but there's a lot of it. It does smell funny here. If you have a question, or unsure about a product, the cashiers are super informative about many products they sell and can recommend anything to suit your tastes.... but you are probably better off asking in Chinese and not in English. This c-mart is hidden behind luxury condos, but they have everything and is a very busy place! My favorite thing about this place is that it has everything I need and don't need! I came here once, scanning the frozen desserts and was tempted to buy piggy buns (with yellow custard inside). They also have the ice cream inside of a fish pastry and brown sugar boba popsicles. All the bouijee asian things I need!! Prices for things here are not too expensive. It's definitely much cleaner than Chinatown supermarkets...I have (more than once) found giant rats (6+ inches) in Chinatown supermarkets. This one is waaay cleaner than the Chinatown ones. I bought this rice wine just to find out the best by date was half a year ago. How the product can hold itself for such a long time is beyond my understanding! There is even mold when I opened it. Not that management will read this - but today I witnessed my cashier spit into a box. This was disgusting and unsanitary.

The produce personnel (Chinese ?) barely speak any English so there is no way to communicate with them if you don't speak their language. They also appear to be corrupt as they mark down the veggies and fruits primarily for the store personnel, without any regard for the customers. A few days ago a worker was bagging the marked down kiwiis and I was waiting behind him to buy them. But he shouted NO ! and slapped my hand while I reached for the bag with marked kiwiis he just marked down. Apparently, they were marked down for another worker, a women from the Fish Department as she pushed herself from behind me and grabbed kiwis from my hand. Very rude and dishonest practice, which should be corrected by the Store Management. read more

My family shops here all the time b/c the prices are good. The only complaint I have is that if you ever need customer service, forget it. They barely speak English and will treat you with awful contempt. I always buy my tofu here and I happened to get a package that was rank. I brought it to exchange it for another, but the Chinese lady told me that I can only get an exchange or refund before 7 days. Fine. I chuck the tofu and buy 2 more packs. I open it later that afternoon, and the same thing...one of them is bad. I return it with my receipt the same day. I find the same lady and try to explain to her that some of the "firm" tofu's are bad (I originally bought 5 and 1 was bad). She gives me a terrible look and starts speaking chinese to another employee, ignoring me completely. She was so rude to me and she was telling the other customer service person that I just put the prior bad tofu into the new container. They both accused me of trying to scam them! Let me add that the tofu was on sale for like $1.14. Give me a break. They finally exchanged the tofu for a "soft" tofu, but they both just treated me with total disgust. What the hell? While it was a political issue for years getting approval for this store, when it finally did happen it would have been nice to start fresh. Nope, just got home and watched two ladies take a shopping cart all the way up Holmes Street where it will be left to either cause an accident or plow into a car and cause damage. It would be nice if the workers that I just pointed this out to would show an ounce of caring about this. I went in the store to find a manager and noticed extremely unsanitary conditions in both the meat and vegetable areas. I thought about grabbing a few items since I was there but no thanks. There were flies everywhere. Since I'm a local within walking distance, it would have been nice if this would have turned out better. Yuk! I've been there 5 times... and no more. First of all the parking is sparse and the traffic in and out of Hayward St. causes constant gridlock (they opened after two close-by drive in banks). Wrong way drivers are a constant threat around the store. So, the Quincy zoning people got accused of racism... and caved-in despite all logic to limit traffic. So, now let's go inside... 1. It's big, with lots of Chinese shoppers (99% CN; 1% other). 2. I asked the meat dept fella for 1.5lb of pork. He weighed the pieces that he had and told me he would only sell a 2.25lb piece to me (so much for customer service*?! ). 3. The fish department is open, with no 'spit' guard or plexi cabinet. The fish are nicely arranged but the staff will only sell whole fish or pre-cut 2 pounders (OK so I don't have a big family). 4. Here's the best part... and a big reason why I won't go near C Mart... on 2 of 5 occasions, I've watched as one or more discerning customers (all male) lifted and/or "fingered" various pieces of fish bare handed to see if it measured up to their standards, then walked away.
