He answered all of my questions and made some recommendations about the return of the car that saved me tons of time (not arriving at a certain time when the courthouse next door is having rush hour). He helped me with car selection, got me a great vehicle, and set my mind at ease regarding the insurance coverage which I had questions about. Return was also a breeze, thanks to Johnny's advice about timing and the prompt and professional attention from the lovely Z. Z was friendly and the return process was simple - she met me at the car, worked quickly and calmly, and I didn't even have to step into the office. I will set aside the whole "getting to the car rental place from the terminal" for later in this review. I arrived at 2 pm on a weekday, but it was before the holiday weekend. There was traffic on the way to the rental car location, so it took a while. I was the only person on the shuttle. I thought the shuttle looked rather new, very clean. He helped me with my bags. He dropped me right at Emerald Aisle. I was met by Marilyn. She asked me my car preference and then showed me the car with the lowest mileage, helped me with my bags to the car, got the keys for me and gave me some general info about checking out. She could not have been nicer and she did ask me to put in a good word for her at corporate, which I did. Not only was my car "low mileage" but it was brand new. It has 301 miles on it and part of the sticker was still stuck to the back window. Getting to the rental car lot. I arrived in Terminal B so I had to take the Intra Terminal Shuttle to Terminal A to get the shuttle to the National lot. For me, it would have been more convenient to take an Uber there and I will do that next time. I had 2 pieces of luggage so walking there was not an option. It wasn't the worst thing to have to take 2 shuttles, but honestly not very practical. And it did set me back into the beginning of rush out to get out of the city to Suffolk County.

The employees treat inconvenienced customers like an interruption to their day. Dropoff is its own special chaos: strict hours, and an entrance off a public road that seems deliberately designed to punish you for returning the car. Josh was there behind the counter and when he saw us (how many months later???) he smiled and gently asked "Zip Car?" There were NO cars left but there was this mini-van. We took it! And then we had to figure out how to open doors and move seats and Josh patiently showed us, even though the rental office was busy and people were on line and ok some were a bit cranky. The cost of this FANTASTIC mini-van was the same as the Zip Car. Both our neighbors and we are planning on using Alamo/National before we do Zip again. With customer service from Josh and all the folks at the counter (honestly everyone there has been so wonderful), we always get a great car at a great price and we don't ever panic or get late to a party. They repeatedly…read moreviolate the terms of my company's corporate contract and state that I need to book the car on a corporate card. My company does not have corporate cards and never has. And it says that nowhere in the contract. I always have to get our travel expense manager involved to educate the staff at the location. Secondly, George Maldonado, the manager is careless in his emails and sends emails with incorrect instructions. If you want to have a seamless trip, go to another national car location. Not this one.

Once I got to the hotel, I realized that having a car was not going to be a good idea. It is tough to park everywhere and the downtown was very walkable.... so I returned to the airport and returned the car. The Budget attendant in the garage, told me I didn't have to go inside, and to just drop the car off and I would be credited. WELL... I was not credited ANYTHING! Their fine print says if you prepay and drop the car off early, there is no credit. I didn't even have the car a few hours! THIS IS THEFT!!! I called customer service and also emailed, and they would not credit me anthing. NEVER USE THEM!!!

I had to exchange the first I picked up the key wasn't working properly...And not to mention it was all scratched and dented up like really ...Ya had nice cars before smooth riders....
