I have used the company about 3 or 4x times now with no issue…read more Being in NYC, the options to rent cars vary. Local pick ups are nearly double the cost of an airport location which can be double the time. With Kyte, we love the delivery service. The only issue is that you really need to be prepared to leave and really plan your pick up time b/c NYC doesnt offer good street parking so you will stuck lapping the neighborhood until your surfer arrives. This part is on you and your planning. Otherwise, great company. Pretty reasonable considering your other options but the convenience is most what we love. Cars have all been high quality and clean. Than you!

DO NOT RENT FROM KYTE (now Turo). They are completely unreliable and unprofessional. If I had…read morewritten this review a year ago, I would've given Kyte 4 out of 5 stars. But after my recent experience, I wish I could give them zero. I had a car scheduled to be delivered for July 20th to take my daughter to summer camp. Just over 24 hours the car is supposed to be delivered, I received an email stating that Kyte is no longer operating in Brooklyn, and that my reservation was being canceled and refunded. No phone call, no advanced notice, just a last-minute email - AND the refund won't be processed for 5 - 7 business days (I still haven't received it). This left me scrambling, panicking, and searching for a new rental car during a very busy summer weekend. I eventually found one at the airport, which now means added Uber fees on top of the MUCH higher rental cost. We were not in a position financially or time-wise to be dealing with this. To make matters worse, Kyte still attempted to charge me a $500 security deposit even after canceling my reservation. I anticipated this and made sure the card on file didn't have enough funds - and I was right. I was still receiving emails and notifications as if my rental was going ahead, including instructions for my "vehicle drop-off". This experience was completely unacceptable, incredibly frustrating, and put my family in a stressful and unfair situation (emotionally and financially!). It's been 10 business days and still no refund. I'm now trying to track down Turo's customer service - spending more time that I really don't have for this frustrating mess they created. Do not rent from Turo. The risk of this happening to you is not worth it.

After my last movers wreaked havoc on my things, I swore I'd rather do things myself if…read morepossible--yes, that means moving my own furniture, too, if I could. ...But we know that's never really going to happen. I inquired with at least 10 moving companies to move 5 rather smaller pieces of furniture, and some of them were clearly out there for my arm and leg with their pricing. I decided on Rabbit because the reviews were good enough and the price was fair, but kept the negative reviews at bay which gave me some nervousness. I believe the guy who moved my stuff was named Roberto and he came with his dad who was super sweet but didn't speak English. I was very concerned at the beginning when they arrived almost an hour late to pick up the things but made up for it by having my items moved into my new place within 20-30 minutes of arrival and with a lot of care put into wrapping and handling my things. They finished earlier than what I had anticipated so I was pretty satisfied. Anthony was rather responsive at communicating via email. We never spoke on the phone and he honored my wishes not to with all the necessary information given at the start, unlike some of the companies who didn't take my request seriously and abused calling me during work hours like loan sharks. The quoted price that I was given was fair, especially since they were coming from BK to northeastern Queens for the job. Obviously, I'm paranoid as hell when it comes to external services but this move made me feel that maybe it's not all bad and knowing that I have friends who are making some big moves soon, they're to be thrown out as a recommendation.

Rabbit's prices are reasonable, although I didn't feel like the pricing was super transparent, as I significantly cut down my inventory list the week of my move and my quote only decreased by $20. Overall, I did have a good experience though.

This was an okay experience overall. I had a reservation for a truck rental for a student film, and…read morethe checkout process itself was pretty smooth -- I was able to do most of it on my phone. There was a line when I arrived, but the employee working did a great job moving through everyone efficiently. There was some confusion with their internal hand‑off process, which was frustrating and slowed things down, but eventually I got my truck. The vehicle was clean and ran smoothly. The only downside was that the lock on the back was broken, so I had to buy my own -- hopefully that's been replaced by now. The return process, however, was super easy. I just dropped the truck off and left, and my final bill came through shortly after. Overall, a decent experience with a few bumps.

And every time I have to come here, I dread it because I know what experience awaits me, and that experience consist of waiting multiple hours to get my van because you have to check in through the app and their app doesn't fucking work and no one who works there knows how to help. Last time I went, I needed three phone numbers of people for them to call to verify my identity so me and my friends spent 30 minutes outside answering phone calls from U-Haul pretending to be different people (a great chance to use my Nathan Lane impression) If you could afford it, just go to cc rentals U haul is a waste of fucking time and money.

i cant say enough about Penske as a company and especially about the North Bergan brunch!…read morethey run just a great operation, with extreme care! i have been in the trucking industry for over 15 years and can clearly say that this company is the best of any company in that field, anything i have asked they always jumped and helped me! from truck breakdowns in the middle of no where to truck rentals of extremely short notice and many more incidents. the last one happened over the weekend at 12 am when my driver lost his key, Penske right away started to move things around and by 5:30 am the trucks was already running! everyone seems to be so friendly and customer service oriented, unlike the competition (there is always someone available form your brunch and you feel like you doing business with a local business not like a Huge corporation. my account manager is always available by txt or email and i really feel like i have a partner in Penske and he cares about my success just like they cares about his company. on top of it, they have a huge fleet of brand new trucks always available and they maintain it so good that you have the confidence of sending the truck anywhere without worrying about down time. if you are looking to run your business smooth and have the edge on your competition choose Penske! i am a customer for life.

Going into the rental, I prepared myself for the worst experience of a lifetime, but for all of the…read moreinconveniences I suffered, I was compensated, so in the end, I suppose I got what I paid for. First off, Penske starts off with higher rates, but is the only company where you can negotiate (price matching) and that gives discounts such as Triple A discounts over the phone. Budget and U-Haul do not offer this, so Penske will probably always come out to the cheapest. Also, Penske gives you unlimited miles, so you don't have to worry about accidentally taking detours. But here's where the bad stuff happened: 1. The only way that Penske would have been price-competitive was with the Triple A discount. I personally did not have a card, but I am covered under my family's plan. I didn't know if this was going to cut it, however, so I called Penske to make sure. The person on the phone said it would be ok to bring my dad's card, as long as we had road-side assistance. But the person at Chelsea rental said that I had to have the card under my name so that she could swipe it. So she did not apply this insurance. 2. Chelsea Rental, the contractor that houses Penske, did not check the back of the truck before we drove it away. So I drove the truck all the way back to the UWS. Only to open it up and discover a bunch of crap in the back. There were about 20 dollies, and hundreds of pounds of packaging material. So I had to drive it all the way back to Chelsea and have them take it all out. This delayed the trip by about an hour and a half. Here are the redeeming things: 1. The Penske truck we got was brand new. This probably meant the gas mileage was pretty good. compared to other older trucks of the same size. 2. They compensated me for the "bad stuff" and refunded $75 dollars off of the total rental. Other things to know driving to Boston: You can make it on a full tank of gas. You will just need to fill it up right before you turn it in, and it will be about $60 dollars in gas money. I opted for the $50 dollar insurance, but I really did not need it. Waze will tell you a way to get there that is shortest, but keep on I-95 as you exit New York, as this is the road without little tunnels that will scrape the top of your truck off. Once you get into CT, you can take 84 to 91 (or 91 to 84 or something like that... (go through Hartford)

When I got there, I was the only person in line and the only person to walk in for a while it seemed. I think the tip here is, everyone gets their rental car early. I began my rental at 2:30pm. I got the car very quickly and Sheena was a doll; she was very sweet and gave great customer service. Upon returning the car, I would witness the polar opposite: the line was really long and Sheena was there trying to multi-task and she was the only staff checking people in. At the airport, you have 2-3 people assisting but she was the only one; it's a small office. I turned it in at 10am so that must be one of the busier times. The rental was great - I rented a Honda Fit and actually found it to be the perfect car. I would rent here again and try to rent around the same time. The only problem was - when I came back, the guy who inspected the vehicle, said I had damaged the passenger side mirror. I never impacted anyone, anything...never hit a thing. But it was so small that I had missed it upon checkout that it had been done PRIOR to me renting. I inspected the whole body, tires, roof, etc...and couldn't believe I had missed this small piece on the mirror that should have been noted.

However, the line took literally two hours from the time we got there. There was something like 20 people in front of us and ONE single worker. When I was in there checking out, another worker arrived and was like what is going on?? I asked if the long line was abnormal and they said yes and that they usually call in backup... but still, with only two people there we would have still waited another hour. Rent from somewhere else.
