admittedly CR did not have as many yelp reviews are some others. I went for them because there are a couple reviews the timing worked out in the price was a little bit below most others. This kind of situation I was a little bit worried the upon seeing the house there would be adjustments. For instance I didn't know that we were supposed to vacuum first so he had to vacuum a little bit. I can tell you that the work went well. It was a lot of hard work (partially I assume because we had just finished remodeling - lots of dust). Though throughout none of it did he complain or say that there will be an extra charge. I don't enjoy having to find someone for work on these sites, but I gritted my teeth and did the usual msgs / emails/ phone calls etc....again. i needed carpet cleaning and a gate latch fixed. Clive gave me a quote flat out after talking with me. My carpet not heavily soiled, so only traffic/open visible areas needed cleaning, furniture kept the rest covered/clean. He was the only company to tell me that was an option, it cut the price down. I live on SS, so every dollar counts. He called a week later, said he was free on such & such days, one was the next day. Super !! I am a woman, alone, i felt comfortable with Clive. Friendly efficient man, you feel safe with him. Because he was doing visible areas and closets, he was done in a short time frame. And he showed me the color of the dirty water. When he was done, he looked at my gate latch, checked it out & like a true handyman, his seasoned eyes saw how to fix it ...did it right then, charge a decent fair price. He is one of those guys who is a true handyman, so he does other things, just ask him about any problems you have ....did not upsell me and go buy new stuff, he fixed the existing latch in 15 minutes...no one had been able to make it behave in two years, AND he had me use it so he could see if I could do it easily, that is a good guy. I called Clive when I didn't know who else to call about ripping up some old carpet in the basement and cleaning the floor beneath. I purchased a home that has a bad cat/musty odor in the basement. He was able to come out within a few days and worked very hard for super reasonable prices. In fact, I felt he under-charged me. He was polite and a good problem-solver - easy to discuss the work with. I didn't hire him to remediate the odor - but to rip up the carpet and start the process.
