We hired James Zanatta/Pro Craft Builders of Spring Hill to build us a house in Rural Hernando…read moreCounty in 2021. He built the house and we moved in in early 2023, 20 months after signing our contract. James comes on strong but as the job progressed you could see that he was just ready to be done and did not seem to oversee his subcontractors. There was an issue with the custom exterior siding, which was around a $16,000 up-charge, that if we were not on site it would have become a real mess due to minimum on deck supervision of the siding crew. Luckily, we were able to stop the subcontractor and get it done right and when we did tell James we wanted our expensive siding done right he told us our job had become a "S___ Show". His exact words about our Dream House!! And that we were trying to "nickle and dime him". Very Unprofessional! Some of his subcontractors were good tradesmen and some of them were not.. We have already had to re-caulk both bathrooms. Additionally, we had a problem with the flooring and when we called James and told him this, he started yelling into the phone that it was somehow our fault then he hung up on us! Finally, after 6 months of trying to get James to fix our floor he sent us a check for $7600 and told us to have another contractor fix it! We hired James to build the house. His warranty clearly stated that any defects would be repaired by him. Now we have to bring in a 3rd party contractor to fix what his people messed up as James basically bowed out of his warranty responsibility by paying us off. Do we still even have a warranty on anything else?? At the end of the build James did not do a 'Punch Out' walk through. We are still correcting problems. All the switch and plug covers were crooked. Most of the cabinet doors were loose and in need of proper adjustment. The tub still even had the stickers on it! The interior trim is a mess because James did it himself instead of hiring a proper Trim Carpenter. We paid James every single Draw right on time. We did not complain about a couple of things that the contract price increased on because we understand that stuff happens. At the time of final payment what we got from Pro Craft Builders was "OK, so we're done, right?" Not a 'Thank You'. Not an 'Enjoy your new home'. Just "We're done, right?" The house seems sound and functional. Time will tell. We like looking at it and living in it. Did Pro Craft build us a good house? Again, time will tell. Would we hire him again...Probably not. Would we recommend him to anyone....Probably not.

RUN!,! HIDE your checkbook!…read moreThis company has many complaints and use deceitful and corrupt ways of conducting business! They will require a deposit of 25% the day of their free consult and make sure you cannot get any refund by requiring a cancelation in writing within 3 days after acquiring the contract and deposit without giving you a copy of the contract or telling you you will lose the entire deposit until later through an email. The post office will not even deliver that letter within 3 days! They even have a clause in this contract saying if they incur any attorney expenses that you will have to pay their expense for their attorney! I would think that with so many complaints online and with the BBB that their license agency would take notice and force them to change their bad business practices or close them down. I believe the good reviews about them online are written by them by request, they are unbelievably perfect and suspiciously untrue. Maybe we all should contact Action nine and file a complaint!

We were happy with the work they did and recommended them to our family and some friends. Several of which have had roofs put on by Joe and his company. We needed some help after one of the hurricanes and I called PROTECH. The owner Joe, went out of his way to send one of the crew members over and they took care of us right away. I was amazed at the value they provide. Our job was small (thank goodness) yet he sent someone over even while they were so busy because of the hurricanes. THAT is customer service! Taking care of returning customers and helping them and making them feel valued and heard in their time of need! If you need roof work or a new roof, look no further! I can't even begin to praise Corey and his crew at CSL Construction enough. I've used them twice…read morefor two major projects. Both times, they've taken all of the stress out of a major home renovation/repair. They put an incredible amount of care into all their work and treat your home as if it were their own. Each day, they covered everything in the area to ensure there was no excess dust (very important to me, having asthma). They covered my floors to protect them from all the traffic. The finished products were incredibly beautiful and flawless! They even had someone come by and clean the house! It was spotless! I don't have a single complaint! On top of all of this, his staff has the best customer service I've ever seen in a contracting company. They arrived early every single day and worked HARD! At the end of each day we were excited to see all the progress! It really was an exciting experience. Additionally, his crew is incredibly friendly! Every crazy request we made and every time we added something new on their plate, they smiled and got it done happily! It was as if they truly took pride in giving us the finished product we wanted! I can go on and on about how happy we are with CSL and the work they've done for us. We will undoubtedly be using them again, and you should too!!

Slow service, outsourcing to third party teams and sloppy work -- we gave up…read more CSL Construction was recommended to us by a water damage crew after a pipe burst in our home. While the water damage crew (a seperate company) did a great job, CSL has been a headache for the past 3+ months. A project, initially slated to be 2-4 weeks took over 3 months. Workers regularly showed up at 10:30 am to leave by 2pm. So I believe this project could have been finished in that time frame, if people actually showed up. The first image I use to show the date of July 17th, already well into their construction as you can see drywall put back up. Today, September 14, the project was "ended," not necessarily finished, but we gave up with CSL's standards. Along with having third party companies do their work (CSL denies this, but the employees themselves gave me their business cards and told them to call "the real workers" for our next project), we only spoke to our project manager when we had serious issues, when we were told he would show up every 2-3 days. NOT ALL NEGATIVE -- I will say, the hardwood flooring installation was done really well. We requested the floor colors and plank length to be mixed around to make it appear random and they did a really good job at that. * It makes me believe that we were given a team that is focused on floors but can "also kind of" do baseboard. * I will also state that our rebuilt bench is really well done. But, I have to note that Project Manager Hunter himself said that the team of two working on it didn't work under CSL and were hired out. I am disappointed in poor communication, sloppy finishing work and the slow speed. I gave a 2 star, instead of 1, because of the nice looking floor and bench installation. And 1 star (to me) would mean they didn't get the project to a livable level.
